I think it’s typically about a week or so before the draft.   And I believe it’s typically on a Wed or Thur.   This gives the two networks 2-3 days to hype the event, and then another week to talk the 32 schedules.

I believe it’s 8p Eastern,  but it might be 7p?   We should be able to confirm later today.

If I’m wrong, and I certainly might be, I’m sure I’ll be corrected.

I think the schedule with dates and times comes out in early May.

Why is it nonsense?  I think bowers would thrive with Andy Reid.  I'm not sure how shane would work him in.   The kid is big and fast.   If he is in the right offense he will be good I think.   A great te is a wonderful help to a young QB

I don't see Ballard using draft capital to trade up in round 1 , especially for a tight end.

I feel more anger after barely not cashing in daily fantasy football in a tourney or someone scoring a td and knocking me down the leaderboard than I do if the Colts lose now. Losing Richardson upset me last year, but it took something like that to get a response out of me. Just like it took not signing Sneed to get a response out of me. I feel like I have a good idea of what to expect from the Colts and Ballard now, and I've become apathetic towards the team.

You've become so apathetic towards the Colts that you choose to be on a Colts fan forum to discuss the Colts. Got it.

Yep, it's like WWE wrestling. The posters who describe themselves as the biggest positive people are a lot of time the biggest heels, and the people who are the most negative people (heels) generally are the people who want the best for this team and are the most rational. We wish the best for the team, but we are frustrated and won't pretend everything is good when it isn't. It's like when you are in pain in real life and need to go to the doctor and brush it off as everything's okay. Ballard is that pain.

Your Broncos made a ton of free agent moves and also traded for Wilson. You jumped on that bandwagon. Did you jump off that wagon when that strategy backfired?

not trying to be argumentative, but I don’t think the stat you posted is correct.

    I believe it’s closer to this….

1/3 of first round picks are stars.

1/3 of first round picks don’t play up to their first round selection.  But they play to Day 2 or Day 3 level.  And they get  second contract.

1/3 of first round picks wash out and don’t get a second contract.

I think this is closer to reality of first round picks.

    Look it up.

Um......no.  The premise of this convo is that others are convinced that is was Frank's fault, that he influenced Ballard into those QB decisions.  That belief should be supported by them, not me, going down a list of what other options were at Ballard's disposal, like I did just above.

Can't do it, because nobody knows what options Ballard may have discarded.   Except they still know it was more Frank's fault than Ballard's.  Sure.

But yes, that's generally the process by which executives make decisions, and how executive sessions are held.  I know that.

So long story short ..you don't have an answer. Only assumptions.

Lets put a cap on this "Influence" topic from my end.

The reason I don't buy into the idea that these QBs were Frank's fault is because I have no idea how Ballard ranked the other options at the time.

Trade for another team's starter...at what price

Draft a 3rd round developmental prospect

The scouting department really likes this guy, but I'm skeptical

Trade up for a top 10 prospect

The price needed...the team wants two firsts for pick 8, but I only want to give a 1st and a second.

    Sign a different FA vet.

I don't know how many options...if any....Ballard discarded himself before he decided to go with Frank's recommendation.  That's typically how executives of any organization make decisions.  They don't just go with the guy who's pounding his fists...if anybody ever was...without also making his own decisions about the other options first.  He knows where Frank stands, so he has that decision in his hip pocket already.

When he has exhausted the other options, and settles on what Frank wants....then Ballard wants it too...and then it becomes his decision alone and not Frank's fault.  Frank might be fault for making the recommendation.  But Ballard made the decision above all otherblah..blah bkah options he had.  And as far as Rivers and Wentz specifically, the only thing Frank can really do is to vouch for working relationships or understanding the offense...and that's only part of the decision.  Ballard himself can watch performance tape. whether its Wentz, Rivers, or Ryan.

You believe what you have to believe, but that's how I believe the process works.  Make sense?

Blah.  Blah ..blah. That's how it may or may not have went down but that's not answering the question. What would you have done was the question. What move would you have made???

Ballard wanted AR.  Did Ballard NOT want Ryan or Wentz?

Rivers, Wentz , Ryan. You seem to want to blame Ballard exclusively for all 3 "failures". In your humble opinion, based on the circumstances at the time, what would you have done?????

You lost me entirely when you omitted Quenton Nelson as an impact player from your rambling.

By all accounts, Quenton, Braden Smith, JT, Grover all are towards the top of their positions and considered impact players. They have all been dramatically missed when not on the field. Pittman as well. What has been missing is consistent qb play. Ballard had 2 years of it with Andrew and Phil Rivers.

Yes, I can honestly say, without bias, when factoring in the quarterback shuffling, they have been relatively successful from a winning standpoint... Andrew Luck carried far worse rosters to a couple winning seasons... When teams led by Carson Wentz and Gardner Minshew are a play or two away from a division title/playoffs, it's a far better roster than you will ever give credit to.

Your tortoise and hare talk is just weird.

Even weirder... Let's wait until at least week 5 or 6 of the regular season before we stick a fork in the team and declare them done.

Last year, most"experts" on this forum and the media had the Texans and Colts slugging it out for the cellar in the AFC South and #1 2024 draft pic ....how did those predictions turn out?

I recall many on here crying that the Titans getting Hopkins and the Jags with Ridley proved that those teams knew what it takes to win...how did that work out?

This is pre-draft obviously but I see:

    Texans 11-6

    Colts 9-8

    Jags 9-8

    Titans 6-11

AR is an upgrade over Minshew and should be better but the schedule is tougher and the AFC will even be Better. Steelers and Chargers will be better than last year, Jets as well if Rodgers stays healthy. With a great draft, the Colts could win 10. Bringing everyone back will at least give us solid chemistry. We need a playmaker/difference maker at WR with that 15th pick.

Texans have a 1st place schedule so I can't see them winning more than 11 but 11 will win the South.

    Colts 11-6. Mark it down.

You realize you can do both. Every team finds a way to keep their important plays plus add a couple players to to improve the team it’s not one or the other.

You may want to tell that to Brandon Beane...the Bills GM or Jones from the Cowboys. It's obvious you know more about running an NFL team than most GMs
