  1. Yep, the Chiefs have 2 head coaching caliber guys coaching for them but the current times are biased against aging DCs unlike when the Patriots had their dynasty where Romeo Crennel got HC offers. Lou Anurumo lost to Jonathan Gannon, that plays well for the Chiefs and Spags. They also have interchangeable guys in their secondary, which ours might have too but we will never know.
  2. Most likely Justin Fields will head to Seahawks to back up Geno Smith, IMO, now that Lock is with NY Giants. That seems like the most likely outcome.
  3. Stewart is a liability on passing downs, so Dayo will move inside permanently to spell Stewart more and more along with Lewis while Kwity and Ebukam stay on the edges on passing downs. On run downs, Dayo will play a bit of DE too because Ebukam can get washed out. Need some versatile guys, and Dayo is one, IMO. Plus, with Lewis' injury history, makes sense to keep Dayo while he is cheap. Hunter isn't likely, IMO.
  4. Next domino to fall tomorrow - most likely Khalil Mack and Mike Williams released while Joey Bosa and Keenan Allen will be restructured by Chargers. I would wait for taking a stab at Mike Williams, if I can.
  5. Yeah, that is why they re-worked Mahomes' contract terms to the fact that they can restructure it as late as May from where it was, which was March. That is like a silver bullet they use, restructuring Mahomes and Joe Thuney's contracts recently.
  6. Yep, he was stellar in zone because McDuffie played as much man as Sneed and Sneed rarely took a bad step in zone. He is definitely a good fit and isn't just a man corner, he is versatile. If he goes back to the Chiefs, they will restructure contracts and sign him, and that helps with their roster strength.
  7. Mike Gesicki signed with the Bengals for 1 year $3.25 million, could have had him but then he took less than the previous year (1 year $9 mil. with the Patriots) only because it was Joe Burrow and the market wasn't great for TEs, just like it is subdued for RBs.
  8. I think only Justin Simmons is within our price range. We have drafted plenty of DL and DEs
  9. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!
  10. Maybe Ballard is going after Danielle Hunter and Justin Simmons now?? Just a thought. I am not getting my hopes up but both those will fit our D very well, Simmons with those long arms at free safety will be great.
  11. Only advantage is for MAC to get the best team fit in FA he can get and the most money he can get, to do good by him.
  12. Is that from Blazing Saddles?
  13. That is the true problem. This is a make or break year for Gus Bradley, IMO. If the D can't reach its ceiling, despite several additions over years via the draft, it can't be all on Ballard. We were bottom 8 in the league in points per game, number of 3rd downs forced (not converted, we don't even get Os to 3rd down enough) and time for D on the field. If that is not glaring enough, I don't know what is.
  14. @Solid84 It is funny you posted all those RAS scores to go with it. I can see that happening easily.
  15. Day 3 - Round 4, I like Ray Davis of Kentucky, Rounds 3 to 4 is when a run on RBs happens, IMO. https://www.si.com/nfl/draft/news/ray-davis-kentucky-2024-nfl-draft-three-down-skill-set-running-backs I would prefer Marshawn Lloyd of USC but he most likely goes in Round 3, IMO.
  16. If there is a position that is replaceable, it is the #2 RB position. From UDFAs to mid season acquisitions to bench guys filling in, the #2 RB position is not a position I worry about unless they have fumble issues or serious pass protection issues. JT doesn't have a contract dispute to start this year and I expect him to hit the ground running as a full go when the season starts. I think we will be fine there. Kenny Moore, I want back.
  17. Chauncey Gardner Johnson - he must a good luck charm or something, when he was with the Eagles for 1 year, they made the SB; and when he was with the Lions, they made the NFCCG; and maybe we sign him and win the division this year.
  18. Moore leaving us would put Bradley's D in a huge disadvantage, IMO. The others, I am not nearly as worried.
  19. It is any given Sunday after all but like a broken record, it is all about the QB position and AR's ceiling being materialized to beat the best. We aren't going to game manage wins vs The Bills Or Dolphins or Texans or Packers or Lions, they all have good OL and offensive playmakers to deal with, IMO.
  20. AR is the key to the kingdom of winning the division title. It is ALL IN on AR, for Ballard this year. He feels that we were close enough to the division title that some upgrades weren't needed? Not sure what the thinking was. We do forget that our schedule is tougher compared to last year: HOME: Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars Tennessee Titans Buffalo Bills Miami Dolphins Pittsburgh Steelers Chicago Bears Detroit Lions AWAY: Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars Tennessee Titans New York Jets New England Patriots Denver Broncos New York Giants Green Bay Packers Minnesota Vikings Historically, we have been bad against the Steelers, lucked into playing Trubisky last year, good chance we go back to our wretched luck against them, IMO. At Jags is always a nightmare for us. The bolded games, including Jets with Rodgers, I don't have a good feeling about. 9-8 this year would be different than 9-8 last year but might still not be enough to win the division. I am not confident between Bradley's scheme and our secondary, as is, that we can match up with what teams like the Bills, Dolphins, Lions and Packers throw at us. That is why I said, it is sink or swim with AR this year, based on the roster. That is a dangerous position to put ourselves in.
  21. Sean Payton is a bit overrated. Russell Wilson has never done well for more than maybe a year or two when he has been the sole focal point of an offense, can't run an offense like you ran with Drew Brees making the QB the focal point at this stage of RW's career. RW, at this point in his career, can manage the game well and be efficient with a good running game and D, which is what the Steelers are hoping for 1 year but RW will take plenty of sacks given the pressure the Ravens and Browns bring. That AFC North is going to be a gauntlet, glad the Colts are not in it. Broncos will be a good spot for J J McCarthy i.e. if the Vikings don't get him. Falcons scored big with all the talent on their roster without giving up any picks for a QB, just like the Broncos landed Peyton a few years ago, I expect the Falcons to be in the divisional round this year in the NFC at least with a division title and 1 playoff win. Now it is a battle between the Broncos and Vikings for who moves up for the QB they want because after the Top 3 in Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels, they will be fighting for the 4th guy for sure.
  22. Yes, and if nothing else, if it is just a few games, Joshua Dobbs would be fine for me. But hopefully it is not for more than 2 or 3 games.
