I didnt say I was superior to anyone, but my choice to be a positive person certainly trumps negativity 7 days a week.

Yes I agree there are ways to express yourself without being whiney. I'm clearly not talking about those people.

It's this attitude of "this is my right as a fan to be negative" "there is nothing wrong with my behavior" attitude that people have today. Yes you have that right, by law. As do I to say "you're attitude sucks" and yes someone is more right than the other. All opinions arent equal.

There is absolutely nothing juvenile about my viewpoint. The attitude I'm talking about is absolutely juvenile. We have to grow up at some point and a part of that is being a positive force in the world while understanding the importance of it. Noone benefits from negativity, especially the person who has it oozing thru their pores.

You do know that typing 'through' rather than 'thru' would have only cost you about 1 second?

No, this is a juvenile and off base comparison.  Evaluating the team is entirely different from evaluating other fans. A fan message board isn't really meant to evaluating each other's fandom. It's meant to discuss the team. And again, you disagreeing with how other fans express themselves is entirely different from acting like your version of fandom makes you superior to other fans.

It's no one else's job to shape your experience as a fan, that's up to you. If you think people are too whiny and moany, and you don't want to be that way, cool.

But two things about that: 1) Being critical of a team or a player (or even offering legitimate opinions about the team or the player that might not glowing and positive) isn't necessarily whiny. And 2) even if a person is whiny and moany, that doesn't necessarily make them a lesser fan than someone who is not.

And last thing, there are some people who are incessantly negative, and go overboard in doing so. Some of them are just trolls, and that usually becomes obvious before long. Then there are others who have a problem with one thing or another, and express themselves accordingly. Airing grievances doesn't make you a troll, and acting like everything is roses and rainbows doesn't make you a great fan.

But posters making stuff up or continually looking for any angle to push a negative perspective becomes tiresome.

But it does set up some nice opportunities to 'unleash the sarcasm'.

Every cloud has a silver lining I suppose.

I have no idea why you choose to pick a fight and argue.  As usual, the thread gets derailed by comments that simply seek to do that.

Leonard was out.  Hooker was out.  And Moore was out part of the game.  Whomever took their reps are backups to them.

Hill was out.  Apparently, Watkins was out.  Whomever took their reps were backups, possibly ascending young players, but they are not starters.

How is the statement, that our backups beat their backups, controversial?

One play I'm sure everyone remembers:  I don't know how many snaps Shady McCoy took, but one of them went for about 25 yards when he got the ball in space, and our BACKUP FS, Odum, both forced the fumble and made the tackle if it wasn't a fumble.  Our backup FS probably kept them from scoring on that drive, given the field position.

Not sure why I am arguing either. So I shall stop now.

    Cheers

    Not at all.

Why would he?  Hill and Shady were not on the field.  Its easy to stop one threat, which is what happened and its why TY disappears.  Its also why coaches like to have several dynamic players on the field and its why they're drafted.

See, what others know, you guess at.   And yet you call out others for saying something they don't know just because you don't know it yourself.  You probably shouldn't do that.

Deflection. And Shady was on the field, and he fumbled. He was a dynamic player for sure. For us......

You are all about cherry picking hypotheticals to suit your narrative, which is just your style.

You have no idea what would have happened had Hill played, yet you are getting all superior as if you know it all.

Personally, I have no clue how the game would have panned out had some of the missing players been involved.

I don't really care if I am honest.

Presenting what as fact?  That if Shady and Hill were on the field at the same time they would have gotten the ball in space and KC would have scored more points?

And what's the alternative reason for them scoring only 13 points, the lowest in Mahomes career?

Because our defense is so stout without Leonard and Hooker?  I may buy half of that.

Hanging on by your fingernails there, Dougie boy.

I will have a guess and say that if Kelse was out, you would be spouting that he would have run riot against our soft coverage up the middle.

My take away is this defense has to keep showing what they did last night. This will  mean nothing if we don’t follow up with the same effort the next game.

Why is that, pray tell? Are those rotten sods at NFL HQ going to take our win off us? How unfair...

The issue about the backups isn't about our O vs their D.  Its about our D vs their O.  Their O had plenty of possessions.  They scored 13 points.

If Hill and Shady were on the field at the same time, they would have gotten the ball in their hands in space and KC would have scored more points.   Damian Williams isn't really that kind of threat, and Mahommes throwing pinpoint throws to the WRs running precise patterns isn't really his game.  If you don't want to see it that way, fine.  I'm not arguing you should, I'm just defending myself against attacks from those saying that I shouldn't see it the way I see it, which is typical.

Its a W regardless of circumstances.  Carry on.

Hypothetical bunkum. You definitely cannot predict what you profess to know and have presented as fact.

    Mary Mary.......

Yes.  Collinsworth highlighted the Colts line, especially Kelly, Nelson, and AC all night.  He really gave Nelson and AC some love.

Houston sacked Mahomes and got a stop on fourth down late and man if looks could kill Andy Reid would have been a dead man after that play from the look on Houston’s face.

The Colts lines were why they won.  The let Mack pound it down KC throat and made sure Jacoby was untouched all night.  Then on defense they beat up Mahomes all night.

Thanks pal. I have since watched the highlights on NFL.com (only 12 minutes worth), and it was pleasant viewing. Shall watch the full replay later today.

The bye has come at a good time......

    I think we will win.

This is not a bold prediction, nor am I 'on something'.

Big Q is going to wreak havoc and Houston will play like a demon and smack Mahomes around all night.

Not a 'look at me' or a gloating post, just curious if Houston and Nelson lived up to my 'not bold' prediction?

Note: the original post was rather tongue in cheek......but sometimes you got to tempt the gods.......

edit - not seen the game yet....

  10. Nobody cares about people predicting a loss. I have done it many times. It's the incessant injection of ridiculous negative overreaction into any thread remotely related to the game that is the issue. Almost like attention seeking. That what is hacking most of us off.

I bet someone on here will get over the euphoria of this win and start prediction we lose next weekend..........

  11. We probably should have won the SB with Jim Caldwell, and should have went 16-0 with him at the helm.

This tells me that if you have an elite QB and an elite D, that should do it. But can you have an elite D without elite defensive coaching?

Give me an elite mascot any day!

  12. Until our world is submerged by the oceans we will be 'nitpicking' QB play. We did it with Manning, we did it with Luck, so we are definitely going to do it with Brissett.

The only time we never 'nitpicked' our QB was Painter.

Not sure why people get so hostile about it all.

Thanks for all your interest. In these days of intense social media driven consumerism, it really is a great benefit to have your support.

    Best, as always.

    Chicken Little.

NB - 'Ballard's fault' was the last straw.

"Chicken Licken". Oops. Dreadful post anyway. Ok, we all have bad days. As we saw yesterday....

    Forgive me.
