You must understand. . . very few people think he'll be a bad player. Our issue with the pick is that he's not going to see the field much in the near future barring injury.
He's not going to pass up TY or Andre Johnson on the depth chart this year. He's going to have a hard time passing Moncrief because Moncrief has a year on him which is huge.
So essentially you are spending a first round pick on a man who's going to be #4 on our WR depth chart for about 2 years. That's bad when you consider that because we have both Fleener and Allen we use our TE's heavy so our #3 WR doesn't get as much playing time as he would on another team.
Guy may be a great player but presuming we re-sign TY it's going to be a couple years before he gets on the field a lot. (Barring injury)
While a lot of other picks at other positions could have started right away. You could have gone OL and started right away at RG and maybe a guy who can transition to RT. You could have gone DL and started right away there. Safety and started right away there. CB and started in a year. (Toler's contract is about to run out). RB and rotated heavily with Gore for a year or 2 before being the top guy. (I say that and I'm generally opposed to RB's in the first round.)
But with this guy you can only fit 11 total guys on the field. 5 are OL, 1 is your QB, and then the remaining 5 can vary between TE, WR, and RB. Usually you have at least one TE on the field and an RB, especially if one of those TE's is your team's #3 leading receiver.
I understand just fine but no a single game is won in April so I am just sick of all the negativity about this pick. Lets just wait until we unload vitriol

I will be glad when the haters on here just allow the kid to play and only judge after seeing the finished product
-
it will be interesting to see him and Parry on the field at the same time. Playing side by side for years cannot be discounted
-
Keep in mind that a big part of blowouts to Dallas, Pittsburgh and NE were due to the lack of first downs by the Colts offense.
Dorsett is really quick with great hands. If TY were in the draft this year after playing with the Colts the last few years wouldnt you take him in the first round?
When teams draft for need over BPA is usually bites them in keister!
We can bloviate all day about this but its pointless to keep thrashing this issue until we see it play out on the playing field

I live there as a kid till I was 8., that part of town is going downhill fast I don't see a pro NFL player living in that part of town

Love the pick, smart kid, very well spoken and excited to be our safety

Kind of a tweener with great football intelligence.

Keep in mind Cherilus may be ready and healthy. He was solid when he was not injured and if he is healthy we don't need an OT.
Chapman should be one year better and a healthy Art Jones will make a big difference.
But what if Hilton goes elsewhere after this season or we suffer a WR injury?
I am willing to see how the rest of the draft finishes, training camp and league cuts before I make a panic judgement

He is a Narcissist, He loves the sound of his voice and loves to be praised.
He drives me nuts even when he does basketball because of his narcissistic behavior

BY FAR the biggest one is was in AFCCG. It led to Indy's first Superbowl win
1/21/07!

Good for him so get a new team.
He is weak against the run and is out of position a lot.
We need a better ILB if we want to stop the run!

Langford 85, Swoope 86

As we all know he is wearing number 9. But I have searched the rules and I cannot find the rule where a receiver can wear #9 in the regular season, you may only wear single digits numbers in the preseason.
It appears he may have to change his number in the regular season when Lenz (11) or Boone (15) gets cut
Here is the most current rule listing I could find
- Such numerals must be by playing position, as follows: (a) quarterbacks, punters, and placekickers: 1-19; (b) running backs and defensive backs:20-49; (d) offensive guards and tackles: 60-79; (e) wide receivers: 10-19and 80-89; (f) tight ends: 80-89;
- Receivers are permitted to wear single digit numbers during the preseason when there are no numbers in the 10s or 80s available. For example, Victor Cruz of the New York Giants wore number 3 in the 2010 preseason but changed to 80 before the start of the regular season.

Well Deserved!
They way its going Marvin and Reggie my get in the same HOF class in 2019-2020
-
it might be silly to look at mock drafts beyond the second round but it sure is fun
-
I have worn number 17 for 25 years of hockey, 24 years of softball and 4 years of soccer
its about 25% of the reason I pull for Griff
-
Josh wants to eat more apparently, he got a bigger jersey
-
Absolutely not, He seems overwhelmed on the sidelines a time and he has a lot more work to do to fix our deficiencies on the field.
Let Pagano coach and Grigson manage
-
I sure its not to go home and play video games all day. I still cant believe that happened a few years ago with Pitcock (he is playing in the Arena League now with Arizona)
i wish him well too
-
I know all i was saying was "if" as well.
-
I agree with Chucklez, He does not have any trade value but he will be an important cog in our running back rotation. This all depends too if Ballard comes in healthy. He is well rested
-
My fav photo lol.
If you can grab this Kleenex before I do, you got yourself a contract son!
-
He is a bit undersized and that causes his stamina issues but he can bulk up a bit. When he is at his best he is a disruptor on the field and makes a lot of plays. I see a lot or rotation in 2015 at the DT position and hopefully he can earn a lot of snaps

It's not Cincy, it's the 4th game. They should give tickets to that one away for free. Totally unwatcheable.
Our future gym teachers can beat your future grocery baggers!
No it is Cincy, I just get tired of playing them EVERY year in the preseason
Love the group of CBs we have now

Tyler had a solid year in 2014. Davis was arguably the best cb in the league. Butler is a bit better and adding D'Joun and Geathers. I see a strong defensive back field. We need much better linebacker play and here's to hoping Hughes and Chapman being much improved.
