Yeah, suddenly everyone here believes Ballard gave more money? While there's no such precedence recently other than for Matt Gay.
And, just because Hunter is from Houston, everyone forms their own narrative?
Having seen up close on Hunter for years, he's an ultimate team player, he'd have done the same, whether Colts or Texans acquired him. He'd not have seen Colts as hated division rival until he joined Texans.
Free agents don't want to come to Indianapolis.
That's a fact.
We've seen it multiple times in the Colts and Pacers history.

Need playmakers at premium positions in this draft. We double dip in rounds 1-2 at WR.
1. Brian Thomas (WR)
2. Malachi Corley (WR)
3. Kamren Kinchens (FS)
4. Beaux Limmer (G/C)
5. Tyrice Knight (LB)
6. Isaiah Davis (RB)
7. Tory Taylor (P) -
Very high on Beaux Limmer myself.
Believe we can get him in the 4th round.
6'5' 302 lbs, 39 reps on the bench. Can be a good RG and C.

Rather the Colts sign him instead of Flacco.
How did he make the pro-bowl, is my question.
Career 8 TDs, 7 INTs?
Seems to not only be very average, but also an extremely small sample size.

Thoughts are some good ones? Here are the ones that I'm fairly high on, not necessarily in any round/pick chronological order.
*Malachi Corley (WR) - 5'11'' 215 lbs. My favorite WR in this draft. Drawing some Deebo Samuel comparisons.
*Cedric Gray (LB) - 6'3'' 235 lbs. Well-rounded LB, has stats in the running and passing game, also some sacks.
*Jeremiah Trotter Jr - 6'0'' 230 lbs. Slightly undersized LB, but has good stats in the running and passing game, also some sacks.
*Beaux Limmer (G/C) - can see him as a future G/C on the team. 6'5'' 300 lbs, 39 reps on the bench press, 37'' vertical. Can see him as being a RAS pick just based on combine numbers alone. 😁
*Isaiah Davis (RB) - 6'0'' 220 lbs. Almost identical size to Jordan Howard, NFL combine page compares him to JH as well. Over 3,000 rushing yards and 30+ TDs the past two seasons.
*Kamren Kinchens (S) - 6'0'' 210 lbs. Reminds me of Sean Taylor. 59 tackles, 5 INTs last season, 11 INTs the past two years. Not to mention both went to UM.

Not something to count on but we do have this guy coming back this year.....
As I would say, like "Dennis Scott" the 1990s Orlando Magic player.

DE/edge rusher is 0% need for the team to draft in the first 3 rounds this year, especially with this year being a very weak DT/DE class.
Players like Myles Garrett with 15+ sacks a year don't grow on trees; you can spend five consecutive first rounders on them and still fail to get one. We have a good (though unspectacular) combo in Ebukam (9.5 sacks), Paye (8.5), and Dayo (8).
Time to take advantage of this deep WR, LB, S, CB class to get some great playmakers at those positions. a good set of DTs, and back 7 can cover for non-elite DEs.

Boss is washed tbh. Never turned out to be the player he was hyped to be. Also, he’s not a great character guy. I will never forget how poorly he handled being heckled by a fan. Not worth the money or anything.
I saw that video after your post, he responded pretty well.
For a second, I thought he was going to pull something ala Ron Artest or Richie Incognito but he was counter-heckling the fan while seemingly trying to be more humorous, while not being good at the latter. -
Isaiah Davis in the 5th.
6'1'' 220 lbs, NFL combine has his comparison as Jordan Howard.
3,000+ yards rushing and 30+ TDs the past two years.

It blows my mind how much of media and fans will push a narrative. For example, one media person said "Against the Rams, Ricardson was the best player on the field". hahaha Or called a "franchise QB" and "the next great Colts QB". Tell me this...based on what???? That he was drafted high? So where JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, and Akili Smith. That he is an athletic monster? So were Tim Tebow and Trey Lance. Or, is it because he was drafted high, he has physical traits, and we are told that he will be those things?
So I suggest those who drink the Kool-Aid refer to Justin Fields. Similar player with much more experience in college. A good runner for a QB who is inaccurate as a passer. But every year we hear "Oh, but he is progressing". Compared to who? Fields got sacked 1 time out of every 9 passes. Ok, they blame poor offense line. But when Tyson Baggert, a college free agent who had to play as a rookie, started games, he was sacked 1 time out of every 29 passes. So did the line suddenly get better? Yet, there are STILL media people pushing that Fields has this great potention. Come on, after three seasons, I think we know what he is. An inaccurate, indecisive QB who can run. And new to the world. QBs are supposed to be PASSERS first.
Anthony Richardson seems like a good, hardworking guy. But I have little doubt he will be a bust as an accurate, decisive NFL QB. He will run and that will make highlight films. He will have an ocassional nice pass or game. But overall, he will be a bust.
That is why I am praying the Colts resign Gardner Minshew. Because he is and will always be a better NFL QB than Richardson. Mark my words. If we lose Minshew. we better draft another QB prospect like Michael Pratt and just hope he can be a Brock Purdy type gem, because Anthony Richardson is our Trey Lance. I guarantee it.
Not sure if serious.
AR has big play ability whenever he's on the field, a player that you have to game plan for.
Even when he's not running, he's a threat to scramble and extend plays by several Mississippi seconds. And when he throws, has tremendous arm strength. Fits multiple offensive schemes; e.g. option, under center, shotgun, bootleg, etc.
Where as Minshew is an undersized pocket passer that can only operate out of the shotgun.

Malachi Corley by far.
5'11'' 215 lbs, 11 TDs the past two years.Would be our Deebo Samuel that provides a different type of WR threat that we've needed for years.

Neither; Malachi Corley.

Luck has no character whatsoever and deserved to be boo'd off the field.
He should be blacklisted from all things Colts for life.
Yep. Should be banned from all team activities and property for life. -

What if by some string of luck...
We end up with Kris Jenkins Jr (DT), Jeremiah Trotter Jr (LB), Luke McCaffrey (WR), and Frank Gore Jr (RB) in this draft?
Obvious inference in their names and family history alone, what are the chances we hit on those picks? Being fairly superstitious, I'd say the odds are high that we hit on 3 of them.

Not sure if we need 2 LB's. I like them both, but I may have taken an OL for depth. Good mock.
Outside of Franklin and Speed (both with 1 year remaining on their contracts), LB is extremely thin, thus the need to draft 1-2 of them. It's a fairly deep LB draft.
We have enough OLs for depth behind the starters - French (C/G), Sills (G/T), Freeland (T). And that's not counting Pinter who could be re-signing with us.

A month ago, I would have laughed at the OP and his post. For that reason, I didn't even read the post but only the thread title. Now, not only do I agree with the OP, I don't think he goes anywhere near far enough.
Mahomes >>> Manning, and it's borderline not even close.
Manning was oftentimes unprepared for the playoffs and lost many games that he should have won; Mahomes would never have lost to the likes of Jay Fiedler, Chad Pennington, or Mark Sanchez in the playoffs.

Per Fanspeak (as of 2/10/24), with no trades:
1. Brian Thomas (WR) - LSU2. T'Vondre Sweat (DT) - Texas
3. Mike Sainristil (CB) - Michigan
4. Jaylan Ford (LB) - Texas
5. Kitan Oladapo (S) - Oregon
6. Frank Gore Jr (RB) - Southern Miss
7. Aaron Casey (LB) - Indiana

I'm opening up to the idea of Brock Bowers.
Passing up on BB because you have Will Mallory is like passing up on Peyton Manning because you have Kirk Cousins.

I thought John-Michael Schmitz would have a much better season with the Giants than he did but guy like the rest of the Giants OL were horrible. A year or two learning behind one of the best centers in Kelly would do JPJ some good.
