  1. Josh Jackson from Iowa is by number 1 guy still on the board, and he should fit perfectly with our new scheme. Personally, I prefer Hubbard over Landry, but wouldn't hate it if we took Landry in the 2nd. Maurice Hurst is right behind them, but I really hope Ronald Jones II will be there with our last 2nd round pick.

  2. I've got a somewhat out-there prediction. Pagano gets fired midseason (maybe even earlier), and Ballard promotes...

Gary Emanuel, current defensive line coach.

When a head coach gets fired midseason, the gm or president or whoever doesn't usually like to promote someone who was buddy-buddy with the former head coach, as they obviously want things done differently. Emanuel is the only coach who's been with the Colts since 2012, and while he is a Pagano hire, he doesn't have an extensive background with Chuck like Philbin, Chud, Monachino, and all them do. He's been vital to the development of Henry Anderson, David Parry, and getting the most out of veterans such as Langford, and now Hankins and Woods. I think we can all agree that the biggest (only?) bright spot of Sunday's game was the d-line's stiffness against the run.

Now I could be completely off on this prediction. Philbin's the current Assistant Head Coach, and he and Chud have previous head coaching experience, so either of them could get the nod. I'm just saying this prediction does at least somewhat line up with the trends.

  3. I'd say Reggie Ragland. We'd probably have to throw in a day 3 pick in there as well but I think this makes sense as two high draft picks under former administrations who aren't well suited for the new schemes (or are just underperforming). Buffalo is a team on the rebuild, and Ragland is not at all suited for Buffalo's new 4-3. The Bills might want to replace some speed after the loss of Watkins. Thoughts? Who would you want to get in return?

  4. Strongly disagree with the OP on this one.

Out of all players I've *scouted* in this year's draft, by far the one I've watched the most is Taco Charlton. Why? Not because I think he's the best, or that he's even my favorite, but I couldn't get a solid read on him from the first few tapes, so I had to do more to be absolutely sure of my opinion on him.

The dude runs hot an cold, sure. He needs extra motivation at the next level to give it has all on every single play. But he's also an edge rusher, and 9/10 times, you don't draft a pass rusher high because of his incredible body of work in college, but you know that with some coaching, this guy could be an absolute freak.

He's got a solid base to build off of, supporting great size, and he's got decent (could be better) footwork and agility. When he's on, he just takes over a game as a wrecking ball coming off the edge. His pass rushing moves are primarily just him combining his size and speed to get past blockers, but he's got enough of the fundamentals down to build off of on the next level.

Taco's a guy who might not shine right away at the next level, but his ceiling is sky high. With the proper coaching, this guy could become an elite pass rusher in the pros.

Sometimes I wonder about some of the so called experts. A disproportionate amount of the writers, talking heads, and commentary is so poorly put together. NFL.com needs to get a proper spell check and maybe work on their page layout. They are so desperate to jam ads into the tripe they churn out, it looks like someone ate mac d's and relieved themselves on the page. Heath is no more than a homer/hater. It has become vogue to say the colts team is devoid of talent and Andrew Luck is forced to carry the team.

The reality is we have a pretty solid D line, when healthy. Our line backers could use some speed and coverage, but that's where Green can come in. Geathers and Adams are average at worst. CBS are fine. We have a good no 1 CB and need to get healthy.

The Oline has three solid pieces and is better than what half the league has and is young . Our reciever core is talented and young. TEs are avg at worst. QB is solid and young.

There is no emergency. We can pick up two solid line backers and work on depth especially CB.

Fortunately, this is the reaIity. With today kind of being our actual first game (minus Moncrief), I think today will say a lot about our team.

  6. Personally the only problem I had with the play calling today was the number of down the field plays called. I like being an aggressive ariel threat, but our recievers have a lot of talent to work with in the YAC department. But I liked the way we set up the run with the pass as opposed to forcing a 1 and 2 yard run to start out every drive.

No to the Carolina coordinators....especially Shula.

What has Goodwin done to deserve a HC job?

I'm curious, why not the Carolina coordinators, especially Shula?

And Goodwin has been the coordinator in Arizona for a few years now, and even though Arians callas the plays, he's taken on more and more control every year, and his players and fellow coaches believe he can handle it.

  8. We can't keep having the same issues year after year and refuse to address them in the draft. I'm glad to see that we finally ended that with the offensive line, but by God we aren't gonna go anywhere until we invest a lot more in that defense than what we've done already. That means no early picks to Runningbacks, guys. We can already score 30+ like that every game, and even though I love ground and pound teams, we can't forget they're able to do that because of a stout defense on the other side.

So with that in mind, I like Carl Lawson a lot. On tape, no other 1st round pass rusher in next year's draft (Garrett aside) has the kind of talent, work ethic, consistency, and production as this guy. And then I'm assuming the next at least two picks are on defense (ideally an ILB w/Morrison) and a Vontae clone. But a space eating nose tackle to spell Parry would also be nice.

  9. ... but if I was, who would you guys say we should replace him with? Personally, I'm looking at both of Carolina's coordinators that somehow didn't get head coaching gigs for this season, plus Arizona's Offensive Coordinator Harold Goodwin (basically as close to Arians as we can get). So far, I'm not sold on any other names.

Something to consider- do we want an Offensive coach? Or defense? Or does that even matter?

    What does everything think?

  10. Landon Collins. Really I'd be ok with any offensive tackle (Flowers, Humphries, Peat), but I feel like Collins is this year's player that always gets overlooked despite oozing with talent and toughness. I'm not high on Jordan Phillips or Eddie Goldman at all. I would love to take a d-lineman here, but they're simply not good enough, and I don't believe they will ever turn out to be worth the pick.

  11. We stand by our players and coaches as irreplaceable members of an integrated ColtStrong Community. A team is seen as a group of people coming together from varying backgrounds and upbringings to accomplish the most triumphant of challenges through dedication, hard work, and perseverance. And yet, as inconceivable as it seems, a family is so much more. Families carry the sense of undying devotion to one another in their personal lives, giving forth an even greater effort to do nothing short of the impossible to ensure our brothers and sisters will never experience tragedy without friendship, and not giving a second thought to the great difficulty of such a daunting challenge. It is in this respect and never-flinching state of both mind, and heart, that us Colts - players, coaches, scouts, fans - our family, all give to one of our own, Montori and Maveah Alice Hughes, the everlasting love and support we have all come to know the Colts organization to give.

  12. I really like the Bears but I just can't fit them in the playoffs.

I don't like the Lions under Caldwell.

I like Tampa but I need at least a year to consider them a playoff contender.

Bridgewater wins ROY and Vikes go .500.

Atlanta and Houston both bounce back, winning the playoffs.  Making the playoffs. My bad.

Miami goes 2-14 and holds the first overall pick.
