Money makes everything easier.     Glad he was booed for the absolutely inexcusable way this multi-millionaire left everyone out to dry.   He knows he never really has to work another day in his life.  Must be nice.

The thought process to say something like this has to be one of the most bizarre things ever. What does he owe you or anyone else? The man earned his money by doing his job.  He was good enough that he was able to earn millions. At the end of the day he stepped away from a game he didn't love anymore and was able to do it in one piece. Why slight him for that?

It might not be tomorrow but someday I’m willing to bet Andrew will regret this decision. Hope he enjoys his retirement and family...and thus I close the book on Andrew. Now I can see the difference between greatness and a good player. Peyton Manning had four neck surgeries, could never feel his fingers and basically willed himself back from a shell of a body to go on and complete his career. Andrew Luck...well he gave up. Two different mindsets...and us Colts fans know greatness when we see it. Sadly Andrew had the talent but not the desire...and I think that upsets people.

You have got to be kidding me. That's not the difference between greatness and a good player. That's arguably the difference between insanity and rationality as a player. Look at what you said here. One man decided to keep playing after four neck surgeries. What did that get him? Did you see Manning in his final season? Did you see how his body basically gave up on him? Why would Andrew Luck subject himself to that? For your entertainment? For a ring? For a game that he hasn't enjoyed as much as he once did? If all players aspired to your ridiculous standard of "greatness", they might not even be able to make it the podium on the day of their retirement.

I disagree. This wasn’t on the Colts, Luck made The decision today, you can tell even Reich was blindsided. No, this one is squarely on Luck.

Anyone got that number to Mayflower trucking? We got a clown who needs moved before midnight out of the state

It really is sad that people think like this. With thoughts like this and the "fans" that were booing him, I am glad he walked away.

So that's the Colts fault that he didn't accept the deal? Time is of the essence. That's what happens in negotiations. It's called leverage.

Did I blame either side in this? No. Why you're trying to pin this on someone I don't know, but there's no reason to try and blame someone or put someone in a negative light for this.

We offered him the same deal and he left for the Bears. Doesn't sound like he wanted to be here.

I think people are missing some context here. He/his agent held out for a better deal, the colts pulled the offer and started planning around him not returning. There's nothing he can do about that. Doesn't make sense for him or his agent try and just wait and see if the Colts will change their mind and decide to give him an offer again. If the Colts moved on, Jerrell has to do the same if he wants to get paid. Saying "We offered him the same deal and he left for the Bears" misses what the situation really was. Colts offered, Freeman and his agent held out, Colts pulled offer and both sides moved on.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a judge put a gag order on the whole incident? If that is the case, then any and all questions directed toward Manning concerning the incident are out of place and he should not have to respond.

Ok then. That gag order was back in 2002, it was breached by Manning and they reached a settlement for that. Gag orders do not last that long (except in really rare cases).

If he wanted to address it he would have.   She didn't "give" him the opportunity to address it.

Well if that's the case, we'll let him and everyone else who have allegations against them just opt out of talking about them and act like they never happened.

It has nothing to do whatsoever with what I might or might not be comfortable with.

She made herself look like an *  by asking it.

Doing your job in a professional way to give someone a chance to say their piece on allegations against them is looking "like an *". Got it. Guess Manning shouldn't get to say anything and everyone in the press should have acted like the topic never existed. Everyone put your blinders on.

She didn't  have to ask,   She Chose to ask.

I wish it hadn't been brought up today,  it wasn't necessary, it was disrespectful but as always, Peyton handled it well.

Just because it's a topic you might not be comfortable with, doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to say his piece on the subject. She did her job and asked a question that gave him a chance to say his piece on the matter. It's not rude, it's not disrespectful and she asked it in a professional manner. He answered and they all moved on from the topic. They all handled it well.

Does any know what Peyton said. ESPN started to lose feed during that question. I laughed because it seemed intentional.

"First of all, this is a joyous day and nothing can overtake from this day. I think it is sad that some people don't understand the truth and the facts. I did not do what has been alleged, and I am not interested in re-litigating something that happened when I was 19 years old. Kind of like my daddy used to say when I was in trouble, 'I can't say it any plainer than that.' This is a joyous day. It's a special day. Like Forest Gump said: 'That's all I have to say about that.'"

I rooted hard for the defense, but I did find myself thinking that he deserved that concussion Wes Welker put on him in the AFC championship game in 2013.

What in the world? Good grief man, take a minute to realize what you just said and how horrible that sounds.

Leave it alone.  You said basically the same thing Gavin said and I should have quoted YOU as well.

Cam did what he did...he is young and he is immature. He should have lived up to what a leader should do.  Not "He has every right to do this."

Yes and we have a right to think he is not a leader.  There is class and there is no class.  I said my piece.

In addition, Lee was one of the best generals in the history of war.  Losing a war is awful knowing so may people died on both sides in the Civil war. To show class in defeat has been talked about for centuries.  The Super Bowl is a GAME!!

Sorry you did not like the analogy.

You want it left alone? Then don't bring it up. You brought it up so it's here whether you want it to be or not. If you still didn't see it or somehow don't get it, there's plenty of pictures show he actually did "show class in defeat" to Manning. If you want more from him in showing class then that's on you, but don't act like he didn't show class in defeat.

Its pretty simple really. Luck is professional. Cam isn't. Luck would have dove for that fumble (most qbs would have not just Luck). Most qbs that lose don't act like that  after a loss.

You and others really need to drop this "X player would have dove for that fumble" nonsense like you know every thing. Just like every other person on this planet you don't know that. If you want to assume Luck would have and say "Luck probably would have dove for that fumble" then sure by all means go ahead, but don't act like you know for a fact he would have done it.

He makes way to much money to act like such a child and embarrass his team, IMO.

Now he's acting like a child and embarrassing his team? Now we're just reaching for any hot take in sight.

I find it humorous with how some have a problem with Cam's attitude and celebrating. Aaron Rodgers discount double check and Tom Brady's cursing and yelling are just a couple of examples you all have seen countless times and yet not a peep from any of you on those celebrations. These guys are human. Them celebrating isn't ruining the game, it isn't ruining someone's kid and it sure as hell isn't hurting any of you. You've seen these guys be brief, snappy and sometimes even rude during a press conference. They're not going to be cold, calculated, emotionless robots.

Ok Im waying in don't care if it Pee 's anyone off.  Some making excuses , personally im tired of them. This guy is 26 years old payed millions to be a leader act like it. Further more if he was raised right he wouldn't act like that. My A... would've been smarting even at a young age acting like that as well as not being able to participate anymore . Its disrespect all the way around for teammates The NFL , Could go on but done !

Now you guys are just trying to make me laugh. The morality high horse some are sitting on is comical right now.

Peyton would have dove on a fumble at 43-8, not jumped back with the game on the line.

What exactly makes you so certain this is the case? Did you go to some alternate universe and see a version of the game where he fumbled and then dove for it? This is some real weird caping up for Manning.

  13. 27 minutes ago, BrentMc11 said:

Well Gavin I do not think YOU will ever be in his situation.

Cam should not be walking out of an interview when he considered their leader.  Robert E Lee even showed up with class at his surrender.  Ask your 50 dollar bill.

"I am above the Super Bowl and the obligations that come to it.  He went to his surrender with NO Class!!!

We're really comparing Cam Newton to the General of the Confederate Army when it comes to being a leader and showing class...Ok then.

  14. 3 minutes ago, PeterBowman said:

also want a big difference between Cam and Luck.....look no further than the fumble he backed away from.

Ok, you got to cape up for Andrew Luck. Congratulations. Now what exactly does that have to do with this press conference and how Cam behaved during it?

I'm not the least bit surprised by the way the man acted.  He is a front runner who is quite happy to clown it up for the cameras with his Superman thing when everything is going great but he pouts when things go badly.

You realize how silly this sounds, right? You have a lot of players celebrating when it goes well and when they lose they prefer to have brief post game interviews. If you watch the interview you already hear 3-4 variations of the same question being asked. If he doesn't want to sit through hearing the same question multiple times, leaving after a couple of minutes is pretty fair. You want him to sit there for 30-40 minutes then have reporters ask him different questions and give him a legit reason to stay there.

    Not a high horse.

He's a rule model to a lot of kids.

You're not always going to win.

Gotta handle it better. Especially on that stage.

    No other QB does that.

Example Wilson last year. Manning the year before.

Both terrible losses. Both great post game interviews.

Cam isn't the first QB or player to leave early from an interview and he's certainly not going to be the last. He answered a couple of questions and left after. Doesn't owe it to them or to us to sit there for 40+ minutes answering variations of the same or similar questions.

    Seriously.

Russell Wilson cost his team the Super Bowl on a dumb throw and still handled it with superb class.

Grow up, Cam. You're too old to act like that.

Be careful on that high horse. He answered a couple of questions and left early. It's not like he flipped the table and gave people the bird.

It's the reporters. Why do people feel like the reporters are owed everything? They're the only ones that if players don't feel like talking to them, then the player it the bad person.
