I think that when rumors are everywhere that "the star" wants you fired, telling everyone "yes it's true, but so what? I'm going to do my job just as I always have" IS keeping your dignity. What does Howard have to be upset about, that people now think less of him? If the story is true, than he deserves to be thought less of.

Of course you are right about the value of players like Howard. The bottom line is that he is more important to the organization than any coach. Not a surprise. But it's what you DO with that power that defines you. Be a man, and just play your hardest regardless of who the coach is. What does he want, more three point attempts? He isn't a coach, and isn't qualified to determine who should be. He just needs to play basketball.

I want to add only one thing: If I am coaching in any sport...and in this case basketball....my team will be in my huddle during a timeout not sitting on the floor or at the end of the bench laughing when we are down 20. You are getting a fine of some sort and you will not be on my team long.
