Just talked with a co-worker who is a die hard Bengals fan, and he would rather see the Bengals trade down to acquire players and additional picks. He said Burrow is a very good QB, but the Bengals needs lots more than a QB, especially a rookie who would be wasting his first few years with a team that needs tons of upgrades.
Would be interesting to see if Cincy wold be open to trading down and how much that would cost a team to move up to #1.

This was so enjoyable to watch! It really illustrates the importance of the QB play needing to be top notch. Manning and Luck created results on several of the plays shown. I'd forgotten how many big plays Garcon made while he was in Indy. Lots of T.Y. Hilton in this, for good reason.
Really miss the days of Freeney and Mathis and those strip sacks, too.

After watching what the Titans have done the past two weeks against two very good run defenses, anything is possible.
They are confident, Henry is a beast, and they do just enough to win game now. Chiefs have a poor run defense, so Henry will once again be a huge factor. The Chiefs are tough at home, but so were the Pats and Ravens.
I expect KC to win, but won't be surprised if the Titans win this one, too.

Maybe the "Ideal" situation is to have more skill players for JB to use. We had so many injuries and different line-ups to deal with during the past season that I'm sure that affected his performance.

I'm inclined to think along the same lines as you. I don't see a FA signing at QB.
To me, you use the #13 pick for the BPA, whether it be a DT or WR, because I know the top 3 or 4 QB's won't be available at #13. AND, trading up to get a top QB is too costly, IMO.
Use the draft stock we have now, get a great player at #13, then pick a QB with one of the round 2 picks and a WR or DT with the other (whichever we don't pick in round 1).
Signing a FA quarterback is just a stopgap, because they are mostly aging veterans with just a year or two left, at best. AND, they are also declining in talent and value.
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the off season, too.

I predict Bridgewater for the Dolphins

I believe the Ravens win. Too many weapons on offense and a very good defense. Ravens 23 Titans 17
KC can be explosive and they are at home, which is usually a big advantage. Watson is the X factor in this game. If he gets time in the pocket, then he can pick the KC defense apart. But, if he's pressured, then he'll have to improvise, but he does that very well. Will be closer than some think. Chiefs 27 Texans 21

I've searched, too...no new about him resigning or re-signing

Good job and I would love to have Johnson!!! Great size, great hands and a great athlete.

Tough loss for IU. I actually turned it off going into the 4th quarter...felt good about the lead and needed to get to bed. I recorded it, so I'll go back and see what happened.
Regardless, a great season and it helped lay the foundation for more successful seasons to come.

I voted JB to at least start the year as our QB. I feel Ballard and Reich want to give him another chance when he's healthy. BUT, another injury or a few bad games will force them to make a change.
It will be very interesting to see who our back-up QB is coming out of camp. I just don't see us acquiring Rivers, Brady, or Carr.

If we have no receivers to get open and catch the ball, then it doesn't matter who the QB is next year.
We need weapons for the QB to use. I gotta believe that a healthy JB with offensive weapons would look a lot different than what we saw the second half of the season.
We can draft a QB to groom for 2021, or maybe that guy is Kelly. We're not going to be in a position to draft a top QB, and there's no FA quarterbacks that will be a huge upgrade...most are on the downside of their careers.

Saw Herbert for the first time in the game yesterday. I like what I saw...big arm, tall QB, can run, and he's a top academic student, too.
I know there are no 100% guarantees with any college QB going to the NFL and we see great success stories from guys drafted in the later rounds, too.
It's not an exact science, because if it were, then there'd be 32 great quarterbacks in the NFL.
I'm confident that if he Colts draft a QB, then we have the right people evaluating the draft prospects. Reich knows the position, so that gives us a bit of an edge in evaluations.
It's more than just stats, or measureables, but includes character and leadership and potential.
We haven't had to think much about any QB we've drafted for over 20 years...they were no brainers before and we had the #1 pick each time. Going to be more challenging this time around.

Indiana would have to beat Tennessee tonight for the Big Ten to have a winning record this year in bowls. Currently 4-4.
Really rooting for the Hoosiers...Tom Allen has done a magnificent job at IU and has the program moving upward.

If we end up drafting a QB in the 1st round, he will not be the answer for 2020, but would need to be someone that can learn next season behind the starting QB and be prepared for 2021.
We have so many other needs that can be addressed in the 1st round. We need WR, TE and maybe a LT so our QB will have a weapon other than Marlon Mack and an aging T.Y.
Our defense is porous in the Cover 2 and without a pass rush and an explosive offense to get us leads, it gets eaten up each week.
The foundation is being built, but we're still a year or two away and need to be healthier to compete. Youth and injuries hurt us this season.

You guys should listen to this. Jacoby was on the fan this morning. They ask him what he thought if Kelly would get some playing time the last two weeks. He goes I am the quarterback. Then they made fun of him for the wide open guys he missed. He took it all in fun though.
I heard this and JB had lots of short answers to questions about the team's struggles, especially his own. Not sure if it was tongue in cheek, or if he's just tired of answering questions over the past few weeks during this awful stretch they've had. But, he does sound very serious and committed to getting better and playing to improve the last two weeks of the season. -
Simple really...talk Peyton Ramsey into leaving IU and draft our next Peyton at QB.

29 of 30 completed passes, reminds me of Tecmo Super Bowl where I could get 100% completion games from Dan Marino.
29 of 30 INCOMPLETED passes reminds me of electric football when you had to wedge that little cotton football on the QB's had and then bend the arm back and try to hit a moving target on a field about 24 inches long.

I'm not so sure. It may be just the message he needs to hear. If he's the starter next season, he needs to know that he needs to step up his game. Sometimes even nice guys need strong messages.
I see your point...maybe a benching will light a fire?

Depends on how long that Honey Do list is and how much progress he's made.

Yeah, he seems to know all the answers: just ask him..
you don't need to ask, he'll tell you regardless

We fire the guy and hire Rick Venturi...he seems to know all the answers when you listen to him. I don't understand why we weren't undefeated and Super Bowl champs when he as the head coach here.

Reich has said that JB will play the remaining 2 games, and I think he needs the work, personally. He's going to be the starting QB next season, so sitting him the last two games is not the message he needs to hear.
We have lots of other problems to deal with and hopefully JB gets some weapons to use next season via the draft and FA.

I agree they need to take him and then put a team around him. I think Bengals fans are just frustrated and I can understand that. Their front office is a joke, they had that run of players wearing different orange uniforms (jail), injuries, etc. They have a very loyal fan base and I give them credit. Football is big in Ohio and they deserve a better team in Cincy.
