Back to the topic at hand I think I read that CJ has a bone bruise? That sounds awfully painful. I don't know much about an injury like that. What do they do for it?
My wife had a bone bruise in her ankle last year and the doctor told us that means the interior bone has fractured, just not the harder exterior of the bone. Recovery was several months including a couple months in a boot followed by lots of physical therapy. It's both painful and a long recovery time.

I'm not sure why everyone is so down on Reitz, he was our 2nd best OL on the field this year. I think he deserves the starting RT job. We are a good starting caliber center and a couple solid backups away from having a good OL. Depth was our biggest issue this year, we didnt have a solid backup LT on the roster to fill in for Castanzo when he went down. Castanzo, Mewhort, Thornton, and Reitz was a good OL for us, center was/is our problem. Oh and Louis has got to go asap! Hes horrible!
Reitz is more valuable as the #6 guy than starting at any position because his best talent is his versatility. That's not being down on the guy, that's using his greatest talent. It's nearly guaranteed that linemen will get hurt at some point in the year and I want Reitz there to plug that hole. Can't do that if you pencil him in as a starter.

Nah, his stock is definitely dropping. The way things are looking right now, it's kind of hard to imagine more than 5yr/$85mil.
I want whatever he's on. If his contract is less than 5 years, $100 million I'll eat my shoe*
* assuming his shoulder injury isn't worse than being reported.

Any idea who's going to take over as HC there?
Don't remember his name, but the TE coach was named interim coach. The only way firing a coach mid season makes any sense is if you think you have a good head coach as an assistant already on the team. Hard to see a guy going from TE coach to head coach overnight being successful though.

David Parry doing pretty well at TE it appears.
Parry for O and DROY?

Saw a reverse replay and his knee buckled. Will be shocked if he's not done for the year.

Andy Dalton behind this offensive line minus Castanzo...

Harbaugh is great at the beginning, but he has some serious issues dealing with other people, and that includes players, not just front office types. If you want to put together a sustained winner, he's not the guy.
Sure he might only last 4 years before players get tired of him but I'd be fine with that if he wins 2 or 3 super bowls during that time...

He got one pressure but most of the time he was in coverage for some inexplicable reason. The little I saw of him rushing the passer looked better than I expected.

Manusky has an argument to stay but Pagano and Pep should pack up their desks tonight.
-
Has a huge free agent signing like this ever worked out well? I can't think of any and Suh came with enough red flags to field a color guard team.
-
Is Philly ever not overrated? I expected Dallas to walk away with the NFC East this year and I've seen nothing to change that opinion.
-
So basically Polian is saying he's some word for unintelligent that's censored on here for having a first round grade on a dude and not drafting him even when available in the sixth or he's a similar word for lying about it now. I'm picking option B here.
-
I'm no fan of Chip Kelly, but it's ludicrous to say all his moves were awful. Turning a running back, even one as talented as McCoy into a stud young LB is a steal.
-
As long as you buy the "where there's smoke, there's fire" premise, it's probably going to be Pep. I expect that to be as successful as the Caldwell stint and end the same way, with a new GM.
-
Agree 100% on the d line. It's hard to evaluate the o line IMO because Luck was under a lot of pressure but Buffalo blitzed on virtually every play. The fact that we didn't go to quick hitting passes and more runs is on the coaches, not the line.
-
Very solid list. My only quibble would be I think you have Palmer overrated by quite a bit. I'd put him borderline tier 3 and you've got him close to the top. He was borderline great before the acl but has been pretty awful ever since.
-
People like to hate on Hoyer, but the guy wins a decent amount of the time when given a chance, even with the Browns. Probably a good decision to name him starter here.
-
Normally I'd agree with the assessments that we need to see him perform against first team competition before crowning him the next big thing, but those cuts he was making against the Eagles were ridiculous. He keeps doing that he'll be plenty effective when the real games start. This one again proves it's unwise to draft RBs in the first round. Every year there's plenty of late round successful talent and this year it appears the Colts found one of the gems.

Toler has always been a gambler. Yesterday just happened to backfire in the worst way possible. I'm torn on what I think because I appreciate our secondary playing more aggressive now than in the Tampa 2 days but it sure is frustrating when a gamble leads to an easy 6 for the opposition.
-
On another note, didn't Peyton break his jaw in a game and only miss 1 play?
-
The idea that Can Newton might get $21 million per year makes me all the more glad Andrew Luck is a Colt.
-
Yes McCoy, Chip Kelly is so racist that he immediately brought in another running back the same race you are that happened to gain more yards than you did last year. He also got a stud defensive player in exchange for you. Chip Kelly has made some questionable moves this offseason but trading this loud mouth wasn't one of them.

remember when teams were getting torched signing top rookies to like 60 million dollar contracts. thank god that ended a year before luck was drafted
The ironic thing is he would have been the only one worth that money.
