  1. I wouldn't say it doesn't matter, as CIS players have been drafted by the NFL before. To answer your question Coltfan12, he would have to go through the same process as a player who played in the NCAA.

I respect your opinion but in the history of the NFL draft, only 9 total CIS players have been drafted. Vaughn martin was the latest in 09 by the chargers but he was player of the year in CIS. CIS specifically, not just Canada. Charles wasn't nearly the best defensive player in CIS, although he was a very good player.

A hicks was drafted by NO last year but he was also a standout defensive player.

This draft is too deep. IMO he doesn't get drafted but I could be wrong. It's happened before.

  2. I like Okafor but he is stiff in the hips and inconsistent with shedding blocks after watching more of him, I'd rather go with Moore or Carradine or Jarvis Jones by far if there

Moore has been known to have a bad work ethic and gives up on plays. Carradine may not be ready.

Yea Moore had terrible combine and pro day, but Grigson likes high motor guys. Moore isn't http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/college-sports/texas-aggies/20130406-how-far-has-nfl-stock-fallen-for-texas-am-s-damontre-moore-one-mock-has-him-as-a-3rd-round-pick.ece

Carradine tore ACL in November, may not be ready for season http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/11/26/florida-states-likely-first-round-pick-tank-carradine-suffers-torn-acl/

Moore/Carradine I would take in 3rd. Jarvis in 1st is best fit and bet.

  3. I think he's a really good prospect. Reminds me of Joe Haden: really good in man coverage, not that natural in zone, physical with receivers, and successful despite not having so-called elite speed. I don't think he's going to be the foundation for the success of anyone's defense, but I think he's going to be a really good player.

I wouldn't be upset if we picked him, he's my 4th want of all else fails.

    1. J. Jones

    2. Warmack (not likely)

    3. Cooper (not likely)

    4. Rhodes

  4. We had $40m to spend on free agents to fill needs. I don't understand the fascination with drafting to fill need. You draft for talent, especially beyond the first ten picks or so.

And by the way, I do like Rhodes, but not because he's a cornerback. It's because he's a good prospect who's pro ready.

I love this. Some people don't watch film and just trust kiper, mcshay...out of all the top corners, Rhodes was the only one to NEVER andi mean NEVER get burned all season (better than milliner). He wasn't tested that much but only because he was so physical and jammed his man. Here's a unique perspective on all top corners.

  5. I agree with you, but he could be had in a trade back IMO.

This ^ Collins was a combine riser...always be weary of them. Collins is a reach with Jarvis possibly being there. Collins only suits us on a second round trade back. No way Grigson reaches, there is too much late first talent this year and plenty of teams will be reaching early. Everyone will be surprised with how many big names will fall. I'm not sold on trading back still.

  6. It could happen with Pittsburgh being the biggest threat to get him. They have bigger needs at WR if Sanders leaves. RB is a big need for them too and they may like Lacy. The other threat to take him is New Orleans at 15. They recently switched to a 3-4.

The only thing I dont like about Jones is his age though. If he checks out with the spinal issue and is 100 percent healthy I'll look past the age.

Its a lock, he's going to be a colt. Steelers need corner, RB, WR, G before OLB. He will fall to us.

  7. I don't know what film you watched, but all the film I've seen on him(and it's alot) there is nothing quick about this guy at all. He's pretty slow actually, can't shed blocks, gets lost on running plays, and couldn't cover to save his life. This is the one guy that has been mentioned by others as a possible pick for us, that I would be absolutely irate with.

    http://www.stampedeblue.com/2013/4/11/4214210/georgia-olb-jarvis-jones-tweets-that-hes-visiting-the-indianapolis

This ^ Jarvis Jones will fall to us. He would be a phenomenal 3rd down pass rusher.

  8. The days of 1st round RBs is gone. Only AP type players get first round consideration. We won't take lacy in 1st because too much late round talent in this draft. People like Alfred morris, Ballard, torain shattered the notion of 1st round talent. Plus, too many great players will fall and we will take BPA. Lacy will not be BpA at 24.

  9. So can we sign him or will he have to be drafted not real sure about stuff when it comes to Canadian players

Doesn't matter, he'll go undrafted. we'll pick him up as a UFA the moment draft ends. we probably already have him coming to camp, just can't make it official until after the draft. So this also tells me that Grigs may not be taking a D lineman first. if we get this guy, everythign becomes even more crowded than it already is. I'm still banking on WR/CB

    Keenan Allen. Big Fan.

Thats him cutting up Desmond Trufant

  10. He keeps getting brought up and will be a train wreck for whoever is dumb enough to draft him...Grigson is smarter than that, I wouldn't take him in any round..The abuse he is gonna take will absolutely destroy him and it's sad but I can see him pulling a "Seau" in the future...We don't need it and don't want him...I'd rather have any player with character issues over him.

disgusting and out of line. Do I want him? no. but he is a football player and a human and deserves respect. Go type that crap on deadspin. I see no need for this thread

  11. No way we trade up into the top 10.. Give away too much. If anything, trade back to acquire more picks

no way we trade back. if G talent is there, we pull the trigger. every other position may be a back up other than G because our defense is set for this year. maybe a CB will out-do Butler for the nickel but i dont see that happening. every sign points that we are looking to develop 1 year talent aka starter next year. maybe DE/OLB this year to use as situational pass rush but thats all. everything is set for us to take a WR this year. you heard it here first. Allen/Hopkins i'd put money on it, especially since Allen ran a slow (injured) 40 time....that screams Grigson right there. Plus, the more film I watch on Allen, the more I like. he is the possesion/out jump reciever that we need. just look at some of his tape right here.

also, watch Allen burn desmond Trufant, the so called #2 best corner in the draft (as rated by ESPN)

DHB 1 year contract, and Wayne aging...Allen is our future #1 reciever. that is all.
