He’s making an educated guess based on what Ballard has both said and done..

For example, Ballard was asked the night of the first round if the Colts were even close to trading up at all.  And Ballard’s response was roughly....  “No, it’s way too expensive to move up in the first round.   I like having all my picks.”

Does it mean he’ll never do it?   No.

But it doesn’t seem like a stretch to think Ballard is highly unlikely to trade 13, one of our seconds, and a one next year (more?) to move up to four this year.

His actions and his words say it’s not likely to happen.

in other words he actually has no idea whatsoever

The chiefs traded up 17 spots to select a raw prospect out of an Air Raid offense that barely ever works out in the NFL. Nobody knew what Mahomes would become. Love has many of the characteristics of Mahomes so how is he not worthy of trading up for?!

our fans seem to have forgotten what the value of a QB actually is

My point in all this is if JB was in the draft this year he would prolly be 4th best QB. 3rd best if you look at him before the injury. So why we trying to grab someone in the top 2 rounds if we already have someone just as good. Let's grab a playmaker at WR/TE or get a dominant 3T. Or hope that Redskins or Bengals do the stupid thing.

lmao this is comedy gold right here haha

I think you may be overreacting. The general perception on Gordon from what I have read was that he steadily improved throughout the week and learned the playbook quickly. Looked rough on Tuesday, good on Wednesday, and great on Thursday. Similar thing happened with Hurts. Not saying Gordon is my guy but I don't know if pundits would agree his overall Senior Bowl work was trash. I think worst case scenario his stock stayed the same.

Edit: as an added point, Minshew had a bad week at the Senior Bowl last year and still went in the 3red to the Jags. He has won them some games and looks to be their started next year.

they used the word undrafted about him lol that's pretty bad

Well, you never heard me trash JB.  I personally still think that most on the board here will be sorely disappointed with how little we do to replace Brissett this year.  The 2nd tier of QB in this draft is pretty crappy, and Love is fool’s gold IMO.  Even as they were praising Love’s arm talent and athleticism at SB practices, Walterfootball called his lack of field vision a fatal weakness and indicated it wouldn’t be an easy fix.  I really think that we build the lines, draft a 3rd tier QB with sleeper potential (Gordon, please), and try to run a running O with a QB that doesn’t make mistakes (unlike Love’s nearly 1:1 TD to Int ratio).  Ballard probably likes JB in that kind of role, and he’ll hope Brissett looks more like his first 7 games...

so you hate on Love yet want the QB that has been the literal definition of trash at the very same senior bowl practices?

Fair comment.   I am truly hoping they can convince Castonzo to commit to a new 3yr contract.  Then Conklin at RT and Braden Smith back to Guard.   I just think that would put the OL over the moon.

that's what I'm hoping for plus Jack is from MSU so I'd be double happy!!
