  1. While it may sound condescending, I want to make it clear that I am not telling someone how or what they should be offended by. But this isn't about telling people how they should be offended. This is about how people who are offended (and let's be clear, people can be offended by anything these days) are telling others how to curb their conduct. And to me, that is equally as arrogant and condescending as someone saying they shouldn't be offended by a word. And it's one thing to say, "hey man, I don't like to be called that" and you just don't call that person that thing anymore. This is
  2. Seriously, I have looked at this GIF several times throughout the day today, and it has made me laugh every single time. I had never seen this before today.
  3. Stopped reading at "Chadiha thinks." Dude doesn't have a clue...about anything.
  4. The reverse of this is also true. Who are we to say that it is offensive. Natives have made it absolutely clear that they will join the legal battle where they feel they are being misrepresented or disrespected. Here, we have only one tribe, out of the hundreds of tribes purporting to speak on behalf of all natives. There are certainly team names and mascots that might need changing. Chief Wahoo, for instance. But on the other hand, there have been times where a small group changes something in the name of ending ethnic disparagement and the fix was contrary to what the affected tribe wa
  5. Did they actually say "American Indians?" Oh the irony. The thing is, that's just as offensive to some natives as "redskin" is to others. What I find completely hypocritical about that is, the basis for using the word "Indian" is no better, if not worse, than the basis for keeping the Redskins team name. The word "Indian" is based on a historical error in which Columbus thought he was in India, and referred to the natives as Indian. Obviously incorrect. Scholars today argue the word should be retained as a reference to the natives because it's been used so long that it's basically common
  6. If you were in Irsay's shoes, your lawyer would tell you not to make any apology until the discipline has been handed down. Otherwise, you would be paying for a crappy attorney.
  7. Well, keep in mind that the prosecutorial and NFL disciplinary side of this is still pending. He could apologize, but you wouldn't want that to be any sort of admission of fact and affect what the plea deal or NFL sanction might be. That's why he said it wouldn't be appropriate at this time, that would address it later and that "It sets [him] up, like if you don't say you're sorry, then why aren't you saying you're sorry? And if you say you're sorry, then you must have done something wrong." It's a process and I'm sure there will be a time when he discusses more in depth, including any sort
  8. Wouldn't you say that by getting medical attention, therapy, and whatever else that he is owning up to it? I mean, the guy could sya he's sorry, but I'd rather him get the help he needs than just saying sorry and not doing anything. Sure he could call a press conference and apologize, but it would be scrutinized just as Nadine is saying. He's getting help, and that's good enough for me.
  9. Fumblerooski flea flicker hook and ladder. 6th receiver does a comeback, center picks up the forward fumble, pitches to the HB who throws to the eligible tackle who then flips it ot the wide open 6th WR for an 80 yard touchdown on the first play of hte game. Fool Proof. FACT. GAME OVER.
  10. For people who have never gone through an addiction, they'll never understand the difference between using alcohol or legal drug once and the transformation into addiction. I feel as though people treat it as if you're an addict, then you should have never drank in the first place. It's never that simple. Some have a more addictive personality than others, it's just human biology. Certainly no one asks for it. But lets not act like if a parent has an alcohol addiction that means that they somehow asked to be addicted to alcohol by having a drink. Just because your parent is addicted does
  11. That one made me laugh too. It's no wonder why so many SBs were hosted in New Orleans and Miami.
  12. If every team got punished by forfeiture of draft picks everytime someone associated with the team got a DUI, the draft could go back to the Saturday/Sunday format.
  13. As well he should. He had a heck of a year last year. I'm not one to believe in the madden curse, but the coincidence is a weird one.
  14. I mean, maybe he has a place on this team. But right now, he's JAG. Measurables are there, sure, but that doesn't mean he's the CB of the future. Wait and see and then we can make more accurate assessments.
  15. Oh misunderstood the conversation then. I thought you were saying that Kaepernick has only been to one NFC title game.
  16. That's not true. They, including Kaep, got to the title game last year, and the title game and the SB the year before.
  17. It's pretty clear now that the going rate for top 10/15 QBs is now where the elites were paid 5 years ago. Feels weird to see, but the market is what the market is. I suppose we can thank Flacco getting the ball rolling on that one.
  18. Actually, I think they run similar to one another except Trent's behind the curve in his instinctiveness as you said. I guess it's not really saying much since a guy can only run and dodge so many ways. Definitely agree that Trent's better in space than he is in traffic. Of course, you could probably say that about most backs in the NFL. I give him midway through the season before I'm ready to throw the towel in him though. If he doesn't improve substantially, it was a wasted trade.
  19. He couldn't really do much worse. So he should improve this year. The question is, by how much? The only way I think I would say this trade was worth it is if his production is close to Lynch's. Would rather have given up a 2nd rounder for him, but what's done is done. I'm still hopeful.
  20. That is freakin awesome. lol. Superman: The world's savior by day, the life of the party by night.
  21. You mean you don't wear a cape and fly around fighting super villains? If I could photoshop, I totally would put a cape on this picture and make the background look like you're flying in the sky.
  22. I don't know why, but I always assumed you were white because you had a picture of superman (it's the only face I can put to you). I mean, I guess it's not a bad thing looking like superman lol.
