Because the film says so...what do you have as evidence?
Show one expert in the field who agrees with you. Just one.
-
There have also been multiple rule changes that have allowed Luck, and other QB's, to perform better than Peyton did in his first 2 years. ;)
And that is the primary reason it's pointless to compare QB's from one generation to the next.
-
I don't see it. I still pick the colts, but only by 9 or 10.
The Colts should have at least a ten point lead in the first quarter. I don't see any way the Jags beat the spread in this one.
-
No they're definitely not. Talib has given up 410 yards in the past 6 weeks and both give up over 1.1 yards per cover snap.
My exchange with you on the tight end thing has me wondering who you believe are the top five CB's in the NFL.
-
You've never watched him play then. Dwayne Allen is an amazing blocker. That is not an biased opinion, that is a fact.
Hardly anyone has. He's only played in one game this year and last year he was a rookie. Those are facts.
Every single starting tight end in all the NFC west teams are a better blocker than him. They need to be because they are up against far superior defensive fronts every week and double as offensive linemen most of the time.

I know Peyton wants to win it all by himself and throws at every opportunity but there are times he needs to throw away or take a sack.
Denver's defense is horrible. If they are going to go anywhere in the playoffs it will be because of him and his ability to outscore everyone they play. Plus, it's still very risky for him to just take sacks..

Bill said the limited workouts by the new CBA is the reason for the increased injuries across the NFL the last two seasons. I think he also said this last year as well. He makes some good points.
I think the workout and practice limits are part of the reason, but so is some of these eyebrow raising rule changes.

I don't give a lick about buzzcut or jones. The city of baltimore can have them. LET'S MOVE ON.
I always thought Bert Jones was an overrated QB anyway.
-
I strongly disagree. I completely ignore colt players before 1984. Plus the vast majority of baltimore colt players ignore indy as well (including buzzcut)...
At least someone gets it......
-
Do the Rams, Raiders, and Cardinals also not get to keep their histories since they have moved cities?
Are you bitter? I can see no other reason you would be against a historical franchise maintaining continuity and keeping its history intact.
The St. Louis Rams history should start when they came to St Louis. Same with the Cardinals. The Raiders left Oakland and went back. The "Oakland" Raiders history should be amended for the years they were the LA Raiders.
It's not an issue of bitterness. Mostly because there is none.

This i agree with, but more like top 2 or 3 tandem in the league.
I disagree.
-
Allen is not a top three type tight end, but the Colts can have a top five or six tandem of tight ends.
-
Well we know Gronkowski and Graham are probably 1 and 2 right now in terms of tight end rankings, but can Dwayne Allen take over the #3 spot? Antonio Gates and Jason Witten are up there but both of them are getting up there in age, as Gates will be 34 next season and Witten will be 32. Gonzalez in Atlanta will likely retire, so my question is, do you believe Dwayne Allen can eventually take over the #3 spot?
No.
Plus, SF has a pretty solid tight end who's as good as any.
-
I reject the premise. There's no such thing as "without football."
That's actually a good point. There's a lot of activity during the off season. Plus everyone's optimistic

um, I'm a colts fan
So, posting comments on Christmas is somehow different when you're doing it?
-
Like posting all day on Christmas on a forum dedicated to a team you're not even a fan of..
Right. I popped in and out a couple of times. Why are you here?
-
a lot of assuming going on here.

The Indianapolis Colts history starts in 1984. Period.
-
You can continue pretending the team started in 1984 in some silly pride complex formed between two cities. Meanwhile I'll continue to embrace the rich past, present, and future of a great franchise. Just don't forget most of those players in 1984 were Colts before you were a fan.
I was a fan of the Baltimore Colts before Indy even sniffed at the possibility of securing an NFL franchise.
The Baltimore Colts history ened when the rolled out of Baltimore in the middle of the night. And any self respecting Indy Colts fan would agree.

Have the Jets ever had a good quarterback? Some teams always have great players in certain positions but not so much in others. We have always had great quarterbacks. Unitas, Jones and Manning. Luck will be getting there, and Harbaugh had a great couple of years. While the Jets have had great positions, but the quarterback wasn't and never has been one.
Unitas and Jones don't count as" Indianapolis" Colts QB's. That's the same as the Oklahoma Thunder claiming an NBA championship.

This is jags superbowl they will play us tough
Believe me, the Jaguar players are not looking at this game as "their superbowl" They are looking at it as the last game of a disappointing season. They just want to get this season over with and go on vacation, recharge the batteries and start again next season.

Having somewhat of an interest in the NY Jets (I have family in NJ) I check the Gang Green message board once in awhile. A big topic on their board is the QB situation. I am so thankful we have Andrew Luck. No QB drama needed. We are blessed to have went from Peyton to Andrew.
Keep Sanchez, dump Sanchez. Keep Geno, dump Geno. Draft. Have a QB derby. What a mess. Us Colts fans have it made.
Half the teams in the NFL are settled at QB and the half are not. It's like that every year.

I can remember many years ago, Skip Bayless was a fairly serious sports journalist. I dont't know when it happened, but somewhere along the line he morphed into a clown.
Excellent analysis of TRich/Alabama RBs.

I don't think a running back should ever be drafted with the first pick. Running back is the easiest position on the offense to fill.
