  1. gotta believe on the injury the Colts know whether its legit or not, gotta believe there are/is certain mile posts along the way where player has to be checked by team Dr. If its legit, Colts ain't trading him...if its not they can either play along so he can sulk for the first month, and then get on with it, or play hardball and say Doc says your off the PUP see you Monday or whenever the next get together is
  2. I didnt really see a lot of stand out depth in what limited pre-season I could see (thanks ATT) ....but just hope we ultimately shuffle to a solid 53.
  3. over under is 150 pages before the 4 PM deadline, I am taking the over......
  4. Here is to handing off to a disgruntled ball of butcher knives this season.....
  5. Our two most likely scenarios today. #1 Take less than they wanted and listen to them justify it as a win, or #2 He stays probably PUP's for the first 4 games and we keep the drama train rollin.....not good for the team either way.....
  6. was about to say, Know one? me either........ no one....but hopefully someone rises from the ashes.....
  7. Ill predict a 2nd rounder and conditional 5th.....or in Ballard Style a 3rd and a CB......Maybe we can get Rock Ya Sin back lol
  8. Don't care for the taste of this sandwich being shoved down the fan's throat....at best if I give everyone involved the benefit of the doubt in the matter that makes the best case scenario being it was handled badly.....or worse yet, either the Colts or Taylor are much different than they portray themself to be.....
  9. Nothing good comes from JT being injured (make it hard for another team to want a RB with a lingering ankle issue) Makes other teams low ball a trade offer to a team (The colts) who don't want to trade him anyway. The Colts should be operating on the notion that their Dr's and trainers determine a players readiness and if they are playing along with a JT "Hold in" scenario in hopes of cooling the tensions, they only will for so long because at some point he has to be ready for the season......
  10. I have re read it; no where in my OP did I say what I wanted them to do.......sorry it was confusing...it was originally a thread to see where people were at in this forum on what they "thought" the Colts would do.....guess I needed to spell that out...I was intending to avoid the what do "YOU" the reader of post want them to do, but you thought the "COLTS" would do.....thought it was clear but obviously I missed the mark....
  11. No I never said thats what I "wanted" that is a whole different conversation and we could have it if you want.....dont confuse "what I think THEY will do with what I want them TO DO"
  12. Look long term there is a RB compensation problem across the board, you and I won't solve; that its up to the Billionaire owners and the Millionaire players to fight over. However the following things "could" happen with JT....what if..... a) JT plays out this season and the Colts let him walk b) JT plays out this season and the Colts tag him-would really honk him off but, could happen. c) JT plays out this season and has many mystery injuries with long recovery time and the Colts let him walk d) JT plays out this season and has many mystery injuries with long recovery time and the Colts tag him. would really honk him off but, could happen. e) JT gets traded for basically a bag of sand and his new team pays him handsomely for this year ONLY f) JT gets traded for basically a bag of sand and his new team pays him handsomely with a contract length he likes. g) JT gets traded for fair compensation and his new team pays him handsomely with a contract length he likes. h) JT and the Colts come to an accord and he gets a re-worked contract extension before the season plays out. Almost ran out of alphabet but just thought it would be helpful to look at all the "what if's" and perhaps discuss where on the alphabet everyone on the forum is..... For me I am an "A" guy.....how about you?
  13. Johnathan just struck me as a pretty smart guy. (Can't speak for his agent) so he had to see that he needed this year to solidify a chance at a BIG pay day due to his injury sitch last year......dunno I think it goes back to the old time saying, "I got an Angel on one shoulder and the Devil on the other, problem is I am deaf in one ear" lol JT listening to the wrong voices ......HATE strife with the Colts.....hate it!
  14. Here is the thing I dont understand. YES the Colts could have extended JT this year if they wanted to in a "good faith move" and had he been more injury free/had a better season last year they might have. But he didnt/they didnt. So he had this season to establish his "future contract worth" by producing and staying healthy. At which time the Colts "may" have made him a reasonable extension depending on AR's development and other factors. Ballard has a history of paying premium for non premium positions so its possible. So I have to ask what happened to escalate this confrontation/timeline because it seems pre-mature on both sides part to be at odds this year.............I figured we would have JT this season and face all this mumbo jumbo at this time next year....I dont understand why the pre-emptive hostilities.......
  15. LOL if we are so bad we have the 1st overall pick...boy I hope that is still funny in January.......but with the first overall we would be destine to pick Marvy Jr. ...... a WR to aid AR 5. Cant fight destiny........
  16. Sad that our entire division is looked upon so poorly......wonder if they will change the name from AFC "South" to the AFC "Also ran's" 29th stings but what we have is a roster of potential, and potential is nothing until proven.....
  17. In the pecking order: We are NOT on the bottom, but we can see it from here..... I think targeting 5-6 wins would be the expected 7+ a phenomenal year....and obviously less than that a disappointment.
  18. All 5 O-line positions......I need to know that last year was due to coaching incompetence and undisclosed injuries from the high dollar guys and not diminished skill set from the high dollar guys and lack of experience from the young guys.......In other words I gotta see its fixed and that will probably take a few games before I fall for that banana in the tail pipe again.
  19. I see the value of analytics....I always felt Frank used them to justify some baffling "lack of feel for the moment" decision making..... I want a guys gut making the decision and analytics peppering his thought process to that end, not the other way around. In other words don't let the tail wag the dog....
  20. I cant argue with that..... we are in a lousy division right now, don't know whether to be proud of it or embarrassed for it...lol
  21. I basically say this year as NewColtsFan has said is a "red shirt" year. but if you really want to step back from your fandom and be objective you would say: QB question mark on performance but potential (basically every year since Luck left) check RB good. O-line last year horrible, signed two late round project types to fix it......WR group can't get separation.........signed a short crosser to fix it......TE, lots of potential little production, added a mid-late pick to fix it....D-line good but thin, now good and deep....LB shaq-back question last year same this year.....DB's sound but not spectacular, traded or let them all walk drafted rookies to replace them.....safeties were ok last year, nothing much done to change that.....So lots of potential at many positions group.....they can do it level yet to be seen/determined........Lots of youth, lots of potential the O line is in a prove it year to me...if all those millions cant bring up the play of those around them or at least overcome their short comings I gotta say why we paying em......no excuse you a 20 mil center or guard you gotta do waaaaaaay better in my book. 5 or 6 wins is where my bar is set...
  22. I will be evaluating the evaluator over the next 2-3 seasons watching Stroud, Levis, and AR play against each other twice a year......should be fun
  23. I almost want the Titans to get Levis, we as fans get to evaluate the evaluator for the next few years seeing the other two choices twice a year.....
  24. taking suggestions for a new tag line....been sporting the Luck one.....well....since Luck retired.....
  25. I think Ballard's M.O. is plucking vets that get released post draft as teams fill out their rosters on the plenty of (FA) front.....17 1st round grades is subjective by each teams assessment......this draft isn't a "thin or weak" one more so it has depth in areas outside of QB. This QB draft class is weak as there isn't any clear front runners......in other words good year if you need DL, edge, corner or TE......not so much if you are a QB needy team. Next year looks to be QB and WR blue chippers draft.....and who knows what else as the college season unfolds......I just want a blue chip pick with our blue chip position at #4.............but I might be in the minority on that thought........as we NEEEEEEEED a QB.
