3rd round rookie Grier showed more touch and about the same passing ability as JB.
Yes he had some balls sail on him, just as we have watched Brissett's issues this season.

saw that launch to Walker lol wasn’t intended for him but he Trusted his guy to make the catch we don’t even have that kind of trust here

Sorry....   you lost me at “everyone was getting open.”   Not one prayer was open, or some were open but EVERYONE was getting open.

    Your word.

I don’t know if you’re talking about a bad game, but I think you’re implying wr’s getting open all season?

If that’s really your view then we have nothing to talk about.   I don’t know what you’re seeing.

theyre getting open more than what people accuse them of not doing...there wouldn’t be a lot of footage of them being open and JB not seeing them and choosing the Checkdown..more or less i dislike the playcalling we are run first and run well but we barely use PlayAction when we do it’s so obvious we’re passing..and open doesn’t always mean open but if a guy is known for catching 50/50 balls it’s better to not throw it to him when there’s someone near at all? he doesn’t have good vision nor does he trust his receivers..look at how RT plays with the titans he barely knows them but trusts them to make a play and besides brown they’re all scrubs on that team WR wise..why couldn’t Mariota do the same? he didn’t trust them nor did he know how to read def

You might want to consider that there are reasons why things weren’t done 4-6 weeks ago are going to be done now..

I don’t pretend to know what those reasons are...    I just know they exist.

It’s not like the thought never occurred to this coaching staff.  Not with Ballard as the GM.

But to the crowd who thinks all the offensive problems will be fixed with JB’s eventual replacement, you might want to consider who we didn’t have for most of the season.

Hilton has missed roughly half the season.

Funchess has missed almost the entire season.

Ebron has either been hurt or ineffective.

Campbell has either been hurt or ineffective.

Cain was either hurt or ineffective.

The Northern Iowa kid was hurt.

The practice squad kids are just getting their feet wet.

Everything that could go wrong,  DID go wrong.

Brissett has mostly been throwing to nobodies who don’t scare anyone.   There have been almost no okay makers to give the offense some juice.  The problem isn’t just Brissett.

honestly those are excuses to use those injuries lol bc when you watch the film  minus Funch everyone was getting open those who could easily catch contested passes were ignored..and those wide open weren’t looked at until too late or not at all our Wr don’t have to be superstars but they got open but he could not get them the ball now tell me why is that

Shouldn't that be the other way around for a great player? Hooker should make the corners look better than they are.

unless we’re playing a crappy style of defense (which we are) he’s been put in bad positions we either play him WAYYY to deep in zone to do anything or we play him way to close to the los in which yes his tackling has improved but there’s much more to focus on playing closer to the los besides coverage

What I seem to remember last season during the hot streak the defense was a lot closer to receivers than they have been the last 5-6 games. The corner blitz from Moore worked wonders last season. Moore and Leonard constantly were knocking balls down in front of receivers. The most puzzling thing however is how easily teams are swinging passes to running backs out of the backfield this year. Last season those kind of  plays usually lost yardage. This defense the last 5-6 games has reverted back to the Colt defenses of the last 47 years- it's like they are not even on the field. The effort or lack thereof last night was appalling. Even more incredible we have significant upgrades over last years team- Ya-sin, Willis, Okereke, Banagu are all better than guys we had last year. The run defense has still been pretty solid. Very interesting offseason coming up.

i agree with all besides run def there’s a lot more explosive runs and longer runs against us this year compared to last idk about overall yardage though

The 29 of 30 the Colts defense is not to blame for that. I place that on Jacoby alone. No NFL defense can withstand the pressure Jacoby has put this defense under. Let me explain during the NFL combine in February. The linemen are doing the bench press. During the first 20 those guys are benching pretty fast (normal circumstances). When they get to 30 reps they slow down. If they can make it to 40 they are straining and struggling, because they are tired. If they don’t quit this is when injuries occur (not normal circumstances). This is exactly what is happening to the Colts Defense. Who stopping Drew Brees? He dropped 46 last week. But when you have a 6 minute drive, 7 and 8 minute drive. And your QB1 is three and out, repeatedly your defense is in (not normal circumstances). The results are what happened last night.
This defense doesn’t have time to look at a play diagrams, much less to get a drink of water before they’re having to go back into the game. Because the play of QB1 is not good at all. Is he hurt? Or is he not able to get it done? I don’t know but something up.

This draft get QB1 and WR1 right. I don’t care if they have to give the whole draft away. Please get those two positions right. Because as you can see value picks (undrafted free agents, 6th and 7th rounders) in those two positions most of the time especially in Indy will get you embarrassed in this league

we will always blame the defense when the Offense fails and scores enough but not when it matters lol  i for one am on the Def side every time lately because we can’t score or move the ball at all the def gives us chances and scores TDs occasionally and we still lose so i don’t understand why we still put the blame on them haha

Was it JB that missed several game winning fg's in the final minutes this year?

how many passes has he thrown badly prior to the field goal there’s a reason we settle for field goals when there’s plenty of time left  to not need vinny

We could be 11-2 if our kicking game didn't lose at least 5 games for us this year.... I think Luck is a better QB than Brissett, but I think Brissett has kept us in every game he has played, and has given us a good chance at winning all but 1 game.  Vinatieri is the GOAT in terms of kickers, maybe he was hurt all year, or maybe he should've hung up the cleats... but he lost us several games this year.  The new guy missed one yesterday and we lost by 3.

I don't think he's getting fired after next year.  He inherited a very poor team and we have gotten much better with almost a complete roster overhaul.

I don't think Luck 'screwed the team over.'  He obviously had a worse injury than the media was reporting.  He's already had a lacerated kidney, nearly had a shoulder injury end his career, and who knows what other kinds of injuries.

As I stated above, Brissett has played well enough to give us a shot to win all but 1 game.  He can't control our kickers missing FGs and extra-points.  He's had a good season overall.  He rarely turns the ball over and he is doing well, especially considering TY's been out, Parris Campbell has missed significant time, Funchess has missed basically the whole season, Ebron is now out (and had a lot of drops), etc. etc...  if you look at it, our #1 WR right now is a 2nd year guy who was undrafted (Pascal).

it’s been more than one game yes Vinny lost us games but who missed throws prior to us going for the attempt..it’s the OFFENSE and granted he’s played good in the first half and has vanished in the second and boy his awareness to run when somethings not there is horrendous as his actual speed haha

  11. legit only thing you can blame ballard for is not spending $..coaches game plan is atrocious in the second half of games/ Qb is stuck on reading “one” receiver/ flus is in love with the “Basic zone” where we play 10-12 yards off and when the play starts everyone backpedals further back instead of contesting and knocking guys off thier route many of our games lost were close games..so talent is obviously there blame the correct people

  12. idc how bad the def played the offense got 4 gifted turnovers and still couldn’t score enough..and it’s not the first game they’ve done this it’s been consistently bad in sooo many games unlike the defense..how many times had the offense been shut down leaving. up to Vinny to miss a kick or have it blocked..how many times has JB thrown a pick in crunch time..the offense just can’t FINISH period every year majority of blame goes to the def but the damn O always decides to play “One half” of football and never play seriously in the 4th and once we lose or the def finally caves after the O goes 3 and out 10 times we decide to blame the def we gave Winston nonstop opportunities to score and eventually that’s what he began doing While THROWING PICKS but yes let’s blame the Def for getting turnovers and a Pick 6..take those turnovers away how many times do you think this O scores?

  13. what i don’t understand is why we FORCE our guys who struggle with zone to play ZONE!! everyone knows the easiest coverage to learn is Man coverage just play your damn man..mix in zone occasionally but sheesh our guys clearly can’t comprehend where they need to be so simplify it play press man and blitz  these are press corners and we play them off coverage just stupidity

    You are missing the point.

Pascal is a nice depth piece. So are guys like Rogers, Cain, Johnson, etc..  Point is, they are all capable but never got targeted early because they were not 1st reads. They are all capable but just now showing it because all of sudden they are now the first reads. In short, our WR core has not been horrible all year like many say. We just have had a QB that struggles in progressions. I'm all for upgrading WRs, but hopefully we have a new QB who can regularly get to the 2nd and 3rd reads.

i fully agree with thissss the Wr have been getting open just not thrown to!! it’s not that we lack talent it’s we don’t “SEE WHOS OPEN” or rather i should say trust our wr to make a contested catch..that deep ball to johnson was underthrown yet caught but i bet no1 will call JB out on that it’s like he didn’t learn anything sitting behind luck besides to dump it off

Yep. He had a 14 pt lead. He doesn’t play defense and he didn’t fumble the ball.

def also gave him 4 turnovers and a TD the offense cannot score when they need to just because the defense plays their worst/yet best game turnover wise doesnt exclude the fact that THIS OFF SUCKS they’ve kept us in multiple games and the O have let us down now when they Cave it’s the Def Fault that’s unfair to fully blame them

I don't care who you are. If you score 35 points you should never lose. 28 was by the offense. Even 28 should win most games.

that’s understandable but at the same time 4 turnovers should amount to you scoring excessively on Off yet here we are lol

He was injured and the jags offensive line and scheme is garbage.

stop it he’s trash thier scheme is to run the ball with minshew and throw with foles..he looked BAD  he has never looked good a whole season just partially taking over he’s a journeyman and that is all via Ryan Fitz just with playoff wins and a ring. he hasn’t led a team himself
