  1. I don't think people hate us any more than the usual weekly "fan blames" for losing to us. we actually have a lot of Hollywood that stands by the Colts. we are respected on all the Sports shows. and Andrew Luck is heralded by anyone who doesn't have a bias of hope for their fan favorite to be a stellar quarterback for the next 10 years. you wanna talk about a hated team then you should talk about the Patriots. no one likes them but new England (meaning the surrounding area). Tom Brady is always the butt of every joke. and the coach is the best player on the team. sheeeesh. that would suck to be that good and that disrespected at the same time. its all the crying faces that tom brady comes up with. and the fact that after he reached 50 touchdowns, only one better than Manning, it just wasn't important to keep going for more. for brady, I wasn't about the record, it was about being better than peyton. .....and still.....no one likes him. lmao.i hope peyton buries that record is year!!

  2. The real question is; When are NFL fans outside of Indy gonna figure out who this guy is? He's still a virtual unknown.

Not so, ruksak, not for much longer anyways, NFL channel always raves about his future. ESPN always does too. barring a bad injury, he's headed for NFL stardom. which is great. I really thought Heyward -Bey would've been doing more, but he seems so overwhelmed all the time. Poor guy, hes got the opportunity of a lifetime and I think hes scared of it. I hope for a breakout game from him soon. dudes, this kid, as good as he is, is no marvin. a twenty yr old first round burner named Marvin Harrison would burn TY by ten yard to 100. remember, not only was Marvin superfast but he caught absolutely anything! Remember? what was so freaky about marvin was his uncanny body control. no comparison. Marvin was targeted every single game because.....Paython was no threat. it wasn't until reggies 4th year that he became a viable threat on the other side of the field. Marvin consistently got 1400 yd years and still holds the NFL record wit 143? catches in one year. TY is sure looking like a vintage burner, though:)

  3. Go Colts! and hears a laugh in the face of ALL the people, news casters, tv personalities and absolutely everybody else who didn't believe the colts could "compare" to the 49ers. and especially to the woman on the Colts pre-game show who admitted she likes the colts but that she "had the 49ers in this one"..........BY TWO TOUCHDOWNS!!!!!!!!!!   IN YO FACE! lmao

  4. I think if you're mad about this, it's only because they're playing against us tomorrow.  If they weren't matched up against us this week, none of us would really care what they do or don't do about Aldon Smith.

SERIOUSLY?! YES WE WOULD.  sorry my caps lock was on. lmao. yes we would. when does anyone, absolutely anyone get away with drinking and driving, wrecking a car, alone thank God, and smoking weed and going to jail,......and still get to play the game?! that's utterly ridiculous!! and it should not be allowed! these days more than ever, NFL stars are role models.

  5. dudes, I love having the ability to rewind tv. so, at the 1:35 mark in the 4th QT, I don't know how the refs didn't see Ellerbe molesting Whalen. whatch it frame for frame and its ridiculous. at one point Ellerbe is damn near bear hugging whalen across the field. not to mention pulling his left shoulder and locking his left arm at the route break. Whalen could've got the first down. And then Brown missed his block. Freaking wow that was the most pathetic block i've ever ever ever ever ever seen in my life. Irsay tweets about making a trade for a running back, I would put my money that brown is traded this week. that was just too much. Brown has had 5 years.....FIVE YEARS to learn to block. Bye Brown.

  6. I was completely impressed with Werner. Constant pressure. He ran well into the backfield for a big man, he hit his lineman with power more than speed when it came to rush. Chased Eli out of the pocket repeatedly.

Walden. Im so glad he got to show off Grigsons intelligence and I hope he does it all season:)

Also Rayford was a force as was Nevis......building a LSU dominance with Nevis, RJF, and Landry., not to mention the Boston College offensive line we now have. Lol not important but still cool that we have multiple players from schools known for certain dominance.

Marshay Green was impressive as well. Looked like another T.Y. Hilton out there with his quick twitch moves. Loved it and cant wait for reg season:)

  7. Offense: Tavon Austin. IMO no other rookie, offense or defense has a better opportunity.  Sam Bradford will make him a star. Jeff Fisher is their coach, remember. They lost last year's best reciever. If he doesnt get R.O.Y. then thats his fault.

Defense: Manti Teo. No one in football history has more to prove. He knows the only way to put the catfish scandal behind him is to rock the house. and the coaches will make sure he uses his full potential.

  8. Pagano is a DB coach. Hes defense minded. I think defense coaches  turned Head Coaches give faith to the Offense Coordinators and they take that into account when they sign them, right?

  9. I wouldn't have minded getting Patton, but Grigson believes he has addressed the WR position with DHB.

I can definitely see us picking a WR early next year if DHB doesn't work out.

I read before the draft that next year is supposed to be an awesome year for wide recievers. the strongest in years but thats said a year early. it would seem to be perfect timing for a #1 rd WR.

  10. I honestly think Luck is the next big thing. he's so Football theres nothing more obvious. I remember reading a draft magazine quote about the number 1 pick that year Cam Newton, it praised Newton up and down and in the middle of that politely  stated that the only reason Cam Newton is the #1 pick is because the Phenom Andrew Luck decided to stay at Stanford for one more year. And i'd never heard his name until then but it just felt like, at the time, that this guy is the next big thing. If theres anybody who has the potential of topping the all-time great Manning, its his understudy, Andrew Luck.

  11. All of the NFL Records Luck broke last year where rookie records.  He has no general NFL records that apply to vets as well as rookies.

every vet has a rookie record. compare them and see where luck will be by the time he has the years as other QB's in comparison. seriously, if our beloved Peyton Manning had the rookie year Andrew Luck had, then Peytons carreer as a whole, wouldve been all that much better. Luck simply started out better than Peyton and Peyton had the better team. It would take an injury to keep Luck behind Peyton as it stands now......comparing them as two rookies.  .......man, remember the days of Jeff George? We never thought then that we'd be so blessed to have the Franchise-carrying quarterbacks that we've had. Imagine if the Colts QB was Blaine Gabbert how dismall our forums would be? lmao

  12. For reference Peyton Manning has only one season with over 38 TD's. . . the 49 he threw in 2004.  All his other seasons have been below that number

Peyton Mannning has 1 season with 9 Int's (2006) all other seasons where higher.

Peyton Manning has never equaled a 70% completion percentage

Peyton Manning has never thrown for 4777 yards.  His highest was 4700 in 2010

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/1428/peyton-manning

    Tom Brady has 2 seasons throwing for 38 TD's or more.  2011 (39) and 2007 (50)

Tom Brady has 3 seasons (in which he played a full slate of games) where he threw 9 or less Ints 2007 (8) 2010 (4) 2012 (8)

Tom Brady has never equaled a 70% completion percentage over a season

    Tom Brady has only thrown over 4777 yards 3 times 2007 (4806) 2011 (5235) 2012 (4827)

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/2330/tom-brady

    Drew Brees has 2 seasons throwing 38 or more TD's  2011 (46) 2012 (43)

Drew Brees has only one season (2004) in which he played the majority of his team's games and threw less then 9 Int's.  He played 15 games that year.

    Drew Brees has 3 seasons throwing more then 4777 yards 2008 (5069), 2011 (5476), 2012 (5177)

Drew Brees has exceeded 70% completion percentage twice 2009 (70.6) and 2011 (71.2)

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/2580/drew-brees

Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 38 or more TD's in only 2 seasons 2011 (45) and 2012 (39)

Aaron Rodgers has 3 seasons as a full time starter where he threw less then 9 Ints.  2009 (7), 2011 (6) and 2012 (8)

Aaron Rodgers only season with over a 70% completion percentage came in 2007 when he was a backup and attempted 28 passes in 2 games.  (71.4)   He has never thrown that high of a completion percentage as the full time starter.

Aaron Rodgers has never thrown for 4777 yards or more.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/8439/aaron-rodgers

So none of the elite QB's in the NFL has ever equaled a season that you have just predicted Luck would do in his 2nd year.  The closest you can find is Drew Brees in 2011 in which he equaled or bettered the completion percentage, the yards and the TD's, but threw 14 Int's.  He accomplished this in his 11th NFL season.

Yeah i get what your saying. i also said on here in july 2012 that the Colts were going to go 11-5. That drew rave reviews. Look, do you know how many records Luck broke last year? not just rookie records but actual NFL records too. and we all have always known that Peyton Manning is the best ever, (Brady is a product of Billichek? while Manning's Offense and play changed the NFL forever) and if you want to compare luck to the other quarterbacks cited that have those stats years and years into their respective carreers then you should compare rookie year stats and nothing more. Because thats all Luck has so far to prove anything by. It should be safe to say that Luck broke all those records by his will to play. He didnt step onto a superbowl team just like the other QB's, to say that Luck cant reach 70% is the same as saying records are no longer allowed to be broken. If Luck broke NFL records last year then that means that the other QB's had all these years in the NFL and couldnt break records that Luck broke in his rookie season. Luck broke the records because no one else was able to achieve tha level for the specific record.  I hate to say it but if you compare 1 season from all QB's, then Luck is the best ever......so far. Furthermore, Now that we have CO hamilton, we have to include Stanfords offensive efficiency in 2011 and the fact that Luck will only get better just as the other QB's in history have done.

  13. Yes, we are set....providing health. I dont know which aspect of the game to be more excited about, offense or defense. and i dont know which group im more anxious to watch, the O-line or the Secondary. I was watching NFL AM thismorning  and they were talking about how Charles Woodson is still homeless, NFL wise, i mean, and i was thinking what if the Colts picked him up, he's not a need at all but it would definantly make our secondary one of the brightest and most promising features of the 2013 Colts, i mean we already have Vontae Davis, Landry, Bethea,Toler and Butler and That makes for an Elite secondary, doesnt it? And Pagano is a Secondary guru who has made quite a name for himself as a secondary coach and it looks like he fell into a position where he had the money and space to build another project and wow, i'm impressed! Pagano is back at it with another new, mean Secondary sure to be a highlight of the 2013 Colts.  And the O-line....we got new bookends and guards and Thomas and Thornton are Huge, man. With Cherilus it looks like the makings of a real solid line. I'm real excited about Ballard, too. Cant wait to watch his career unfold. He's so much like Edgerin James i love it. we really miss James' consistency after  five years of Addai and Brown and all their unfortunate injuries.  ...and our Pass-Rush......and our WR corps.....cant wait for next year:)

  14. I cant get over this Montori Hughes guy. I mean talk about mean. This guy is Huge. I watched his combine video and was surprised at how quick he was for his size. He's difinantly got a mean streak and i think he fits Pagano's idea of a mean streak defense. and if anybody can keep him honest its Pagano. plus we got Laron Landry. Geeez, with Angerer and freeman in the middle and Werner and Mathis on the outside we are gpoing to have one absolutely  mean and nasty defense. I mean....half of our defense already has a reputation. I freaking love it. Bring the POWER to Indy!!!!!

  15. What?! Hughes?! Hughes isn't a DB! He can't play Man against these elite WRs.

NO!!!! It is definitely the CB we drafted with our 1st selection! Bjorn Werner was the steal of this draft. Can you imagine him covering Megatron? Shooooo we got our Cornerback of the future baby! Vontae better just look out. But it doesn't stop there! Oh no. Grigson doesn't rest. We traded Jerry Hughes for stud CB Kelvin Sheppard (think of the movie "Iceman" and the neanderthal dude yelling SHEPHEERRRRDD). Now he's a show stopper! A wiley cave man with his hair on fire, who can play on an island or pressure the QB or block the opposing LB bearing down on Luck or pull and destroy anyone trying to come after Vick Ballard. These two DBs are gonna supplant the pregame "Reggie" chant at the Luke with orgasmic screams of "Shutdown"!! WOOOOO baby we are beast mode now! Build the Monster!!!

    :panic:

Sheppard is a linebacker.  Have you ever seen a 247 lb cornerback?

  16. I just watched a highlight video on Boyett and Wow! i know it was a highlight video but its kinda wierd seeing someone so thin-looking making such big hits. He knows how to play the ball, thats for sure. I think his surgery was more preporatory than anything. at least they werent acl tears and take care of them both so theyre healthy to start a NFL career. LOVE the kerwynn williams pick!!! He should team up well with TY Hilton on Punt returns and kick returns. exciting special teams is something we sure arent used to. AWESOME DRAFT! Bjorne Werner was never in the conversation because he was a top 5 pick on every ones board, and i know Rhodes was available but we needed a pass rusher more than a corner. Cant believe he fell to us. And that Guard is a monster.

  17. I love the idea of trading back, always have.  I keep a spreadsheet with all the top prospects and first round draft order - not that it means anything - but I play with all sorts of scenarios for the first round while considering team needs, latest news/lies, and relative prospect value.  All completely meaningless, just love to do it.  Anyway, no matter how I slice it, I come up with a scenario that yields a player at 24 that I think is too good to pass up with trading down.  There are 6 players that I specifically think of that all have value in this category who could conceivably fall to us.  The longshots are Rhodes, Warmack and Cooper - but it isn't as long a shot as it seems when you look at the needs of other teams and how they might value other available talent.  We just don't know.  My favorite realistic prospect at 24 is Sylvester Williams - I've settled on him as my ideal pick at 24 and I also think it is 50/50 he is gone before the OG's.  The most likely to be available are Justin Hunter and Datone Jones.  Both have rare talents difficult to find in later rounds.  Datone is a safe pick and Hunter more risky.  If I can't get one of those 6, I'd like to see a trade down, but I can't see it if one of them is there.  Hard to see one of them not being there. I am, of course, completely wrong about all this, but it has been such fun reaching unsubstantiated uneducated conclusions!

Yesssss....yesss..yesss.....like you, my Friend....I love Football too!!!!

  18. There have been enough Colts Mock drafts posted that I thought it would be a good idea to sharpen the focus here....

People do Mocks with and without trading down.

    Without,  we've got picks 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 7.    Missing are picks 2 and 5.

With trading down we'd likely have  2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7.      We gain 3 picks for our 1.   It's even possible we could trade down twice and collect even more picks.

Also....    there have been no shortage of threads discussing various team needs and whenever that happens,  someone throws out a name in the first round (as if other rounds don't exist) and those names get debates...

So we've had threads for the first round pick to be used on offense for OL, WR, RB.

We've had threads for the first round pick to be used on offense for Pass Rusher, CB, S, ILB, OLB, NT.    Pretty much every spot on the defense.

I think you can see where I'm going with this.

Despite the Colts very much improved roster,  we still have needs...  perhaps not holes, but needs. (OK, one hole, RG)   But lots of needs for at least roster quality depth.

Those are not going to get filled with 1/3/4/6/7/7.    They can be easily be addressed with 2/3/3/4/5/6/7/7.

Bottom line:    We still have lots of needs.    We don't have lots of picks.   The only way to do that is to trade down.    Maybe even more than once.     I don't see someone landing at 24 who is so good, that I wouldn't still want to trade down.

    That's still my view..........

    What are yours??

How many more needs do we really have that we cant fill it without trading down? Grigson did a phenomenal job with our F/A money, and all the football sites are giving him his due, i mean we got serious starters and nothing less. then we got top rated backups too. so what im saying is, the only starter i see coming from this draft, speaking from a Depth Chart point-of-view, is the RG. Every other draft pick is going to get stuck behind a solid starter. So basically, this draft is for forming a solid competitive depth chart. Hopefully a starter comes from the draft, but really, we dont need a starter. And its a luxury that comes from such a solid F/A. we dont need to trade down. the idea that we cant fill any needs with a first rounder is just funny.

  19. If Cooper Warmack or Jarvis is there take them off not trade back

Dude this is kinda funny. Explain how the Needs arent going to get filled with the 1/3/4/6/7/7. Right? But can "easily" be filled with trading down? im sorry man but im trying to get the logic here. If we dont trade down and keep a first round guy  ( and there are plenty of firsrt round guys that can fill a need better, maybe by assumption, than a second round pick, then we still have 6 more picks to keep filling needs. How can our needs not be filled with 7 draft picks including a first rounder?
