  1. Though he's one of the most respected analysts, at the end of the day, Jaws is just another talking head with an opinion.  there are dozens of QB rankings out there.  wouldn't put to much stock into a list that means absolutely nothing.

God I'm so ready for football to start.

  2. I like this breakdown, very detailed.  Its somewhat slanted in Luck's favor, but that's okay with me ;)  The only negative about Luck is that he led the NFL in turnovers, but that's because he had to fling it downfield while running for his life.  I expect those INTs to come way down next year.  Luck has the potential to be a top 5 QB this season if the line will give him time to throw the ball.

I don't believe Kaep deserves as much credit as he's been getting because he only played half the season.  the guy is a stud, but he took over a 6-2 football team at the time.  Kaep has the strongest arm in the NFL, and sometimes I think he throws it too hard.

Wilson was drafted so much later than Luck and Griffin, I almost give him the most credit as he wasn't even expected to start last year.  Wilson makes good decisions and hardly ever turns it over.  He seems to be a natural leader, and he led my fantasy football team to the superbowl :)

The stat window shows that RG3 is the worst of all rookie QBs on first down, but the Redskins led the NFL in yards per play on 1st and 2nd down, so that's kind of a wash.  Griffin also had the 2nd best TD/INT ratio in the NFL last year, 20/5.  He needs to stop running around so much, which I'm sure he's thought long and hard about this off-season as his knee heals.

I know its off-season so there isn't much to talk about, and everybody gets all frenzied over stat comparisons, QB rankings, power rankings, etc.  Frankly, all I care about is playoff wins, and rings.  As of right now, our guy has 0.  Wilson has 1 and Kaep has 2.  I look forward to Luck racking up playoff wins in the very near future.

  3. That may be true, but that was pretty lame...I don't care who did it.

Oh, it was terrible.  Corny as hell LOL.

But I was just making a point that I'd rather have him making lame music videos than beating his wife or getting DUIs.

  4. Man, they just havin fun.  Its not like he's showing you how to break down an ak, or make pipe bombs.  He and his wife are just kicking back having a good time.  Dude is on top of the world right now.  Haters gonna Hate.  LIke Qwiz said, if that what you have to criticize is someone in they own house, cuttin up then they need to find something better to do.  SMH    Pop Rocks and Tootsie Pops Pop Rocks and Tootsie Pops

    Exactly

I know the Redskins RG3 fanboys that troll our forums can sometimes be annoying, but I'll never understand the hate some folks have on here for RG3.  He seems like a good kid, his teammates all say he's a great leader, and he's a well spoken, mature young man who doesn't get in trouble.  He's 23 years old, let the kid have some fun.

  5.

But, for the record,  the NFL,  you know, the league that Andrew Luck plays in,  views his season as probably the best season any rookie quarterback has ever had in the history of the league.

    This is laughable.

You might want to revisit Cam's first year.

Numbers wise, in 2012 Luck had a worse season than RG3 and Wilson. Let's be honest...

Luck threw for 4300 and set the rookie record, but he also threw the ball about 250 more times than Wilson or RG3.

I think #23 on the list is VERY acceptable. Like others have mentioned, this list is about the top players overall in the league.... regardless of rookie or veteran status.

If Andrew Luck was a 3 or 4 year vet, and put up the numbers he put up last season... there is no way he makes this list.... absolutely none.

Tony Romo had a much better season than Andrew Luck last year... and theres a decent chance Romo won't even make the top 100 period.

Taking everything into consideration, I believe his ranking is much more than fair, and shows the respect people have for his potential and leadership abilities.

  6. The Redskins and Seahawks have better coaching, honestly.

The Redskins, in particular, have such a strong running game primarily because of the freedom Kyle Shanahan gives RG3. Just watch the games.

I've seen 4-5 Redskins game this year; and when the Redskins call a running play, RG3 still has to read defenses. He has three options on 30-40% of the Redskins running plays:

    1. Hand the ball off as normal

    2. Keep the ball if the defense over commits to the RB

    3. Throw a quick strike down the middle of the field to an open WR where a LB vacated to commit to the run.

RG3 is effectively tasked with reading the defense on passing plays AND running plays. Which leads to him often burning defenses one way or another. RG3 also has probably the best play action fake in the NFL.

When the we run the football, Luck just drops back and hands the ball off. It's not hard for defenses to contain that as much. It comes down to coaching.

  7. Lucks stats screams "I am not a pro bowler".  I would put in the kid from the Bengals, Dalton, over Luck to be honest.

Dalton had the luxury of playing with a top 3 WR in the NFL, and had a very mediocre year.

I don't think Luck should have been in the pro-bowl (because if it weren't for the fact that Luck is a rookie, this year would actually be a pretty bad year for him), but Dalton is pretty pedestrian.

  8. Through week 16:

    QB Rating:

    RG3 104.1

    Luck 75.6

    Completion percentage:

    RG3 66%

    Luck 54%

    Average yards per pass:

    RG3 8.27 (#1 in the NFL)

    Luck 6.98

    Touchdown/Interception ratio:

    RG3 20/5

    Luck 21/18

    Rushing Touchdowns

    RG3 6

    Luck 5

    Passing Yards:

    RG3 3,100

    Luck 4,183

    Touchdowns per pass:

    RG3 throws a touchdown every 18 passes

Luck throws a touchdown every 28 passes

    Interceptions per pass:

RG3 throws an interception every 75 passes

Luck throws an interception every 33 passes

    Total offensive points scored:

    Redskins 408 (4th in NFL)

    Colts 329 (18th in NFL)

    Points per game:

    Redskins 27.2

    Colts 21.9

Outside of total passing yards, RG3 and the Redskins are ahead of the Colts in every single offensive statistic

Guys, I like Andrew Luck, and he's probably going to be a superbowl champion in the next few years. He's come a long way since the beginning of the season, and he'll continue to get better. I personally would take Luck over Griffin in a heartbeat, and I'm glad we got him. But Griffin has had a better season this year overall, period. And it doesn't hurt that the media loves him as well.

Yes, Griffin's running game gives him an advantage, but the Redskins god awful defense offsets that. The Redskins have 3 games where they scored OVER 23 points and still lost. The Colts have scored UNDER 23 points 5 times this season and still won.

If you compare offense to offense, the Redskins have been much better than the Colts. But once we sure up the O-line and find ourselves a stud running back, the Colts will be much more balanced and efficient on offense. I believe Luck will have more success in his career than RG3, but this year belongs to Griffin.

  9. Look at Joe Montanas stats and Romo's and you would say this Romo is probably just as good or better. But that is not the case, and why is that, Montana delivered  when it counted. Why is it so hard for you to understand this concept.

Luck definitely delivers when it matters most, which is something I think a lot of people may overlook.

But, this is a bad comparison. Comparing stats of a QB who played in the 1980's with one playing in today's era is extremely flawed for multiple reasons..
