  1. Of which 2/5 players taken around the 26th pick are worthless.

Gosh, y'all can't seem to get over the illusion that we gave up a STAR player for Trent, for surely, with 20/20 b.s. H

hindsight we would have hit the jackpot. <roll eyes>

This thread being pinned is utterly ridiculous and fosters pretty much nothing but *ic speculation that amounts to little more than he said she said. We get it, all you geniuses are WAY smarte than Grigson, the trade sucked, the Colts would have surely drafted a can't miss star, Richardson is worse than any pc of crap UDFA. Enough already! Mods, un-pinn this useless, player bashing thread already!

The thread was pinned to keep the other Richardson bashing threads condensed. So unless you want multiple threads where you're constantly having to play "captain save-a-fullback," you should really stop complaining about the existence of this one

  2. Grigson has an inflated value for skill positions (most apparent by his horrible Richardson trade) Until he gets real and decides to do whatever it takes to improve the trenches on both sides, we will not be competing for Super Bowls. It's crazy a former linemen hasn't fully adopted that philosophy yet. People keep bringing up "rebuild" but realistically, how long can you keep putting off a legitimate one and stop relying on exceptional play from your QB? Philly did a full successful conversion to a 3-4 defense in a year 1/2, because they actually invested in quality players that fit the scheme via draft and free agency. We're in year 3 of our attempted conversion and look marginally better than we did 3 years ago

  3. Here a fact many Colt fans try to neglect: Brady handed the ball off for 17 rushing TDs that season.

    In '04, for Manning? 10.

So this proves what besides the fact Brady had a superior ground game that year to what Peyton had in 04? Peyton sat entire quarters that year, while Brady was running up scores in garbage time all the way through week 17 of that season. Last year is what Peyton could've done in 04 if he actually played every quarter of every game. Brady was blatantly trying to break Peyton's record (and help Moss break Rice's as well) in 07

  4. Related but not the same. I was never arguing Manning and Brady in that respect.

And I don't agree with him so the point is moot anyways.I think Peyton is about one thing right now and that is getting back to the Super Bowl and winning it

Well, I don't know what to tell you then. That's what we (JerodMayo51 and I) were talking about, so either stick to the same discussion when quoting an individual or just don't jump in the conversation at all

  5. I believe their RB tore off for 165 yards or something like that.

Actually it's strange to me. . . it seems like often enough the more effective RB's are UDFA guys.  I'm really starting to question the ability of NFL scouts to scout out RB's.  You have highly drafted guys who can't seem to do very well and then you see plenty of guys in the later rounds of the draft and UDFA's who tear off for 150+ yards and dominate.

RB is probably THE single dumbest position to invest high draft picks in (other than kickers and punters.) They're a dime a dozen, and the market even supports that notion. Ben Tate was the big running back free agent pick up heading into this year, and he got paid like a high end kicker (which also explains why the Browns had no issue cutting ties with him so early) Unless the player is a transcendent athlete like Adrian Peterson or Barry Sanders, their success is, for the most part, completely dependent upon how good of an offensive line they have in front of them. As long as whoever it is that you have in your backfield has patience and vision, you can have a lot of success with that player. Measurables are pretty meaningless at that position, and maybe that's why so many teams whiff on the earlier picks at RB, because they're so caught up on how much that player can bench, or their 40 times

  6. They're looking dumb for letting Moreno go just so Manning could be spoiled with another wide receiver in Sanders.

    No running game

Moreno benefited from the cleaner running lanes due to the spread system Peyton operates in. They haven't really missed a beat without him, as two of his former backups have looked every bit as good as he did in that very same system this year

  7. Oh boy. Did you miss the part where the Pats lined up for a FG and the Detroit guy led with his helmet on our long snapper for a personal foul? I don't know about you, but that is the type of play with the game over that would make me want to punch the ball in. And the Pats did exactly that. It has nothing to do with running up the score. They would have taken the FG if not for that bush league move and scored a grand total of six points in the second half so I don't know how you are seeing that as running up the score. Perhaps we have different definitions.

As I have said many times up here, I have ZERO issue with teams/QBs scoring at will. It is the defenses job to stop the offense. I had no issue with Manning doing what he did last year or in 2004 or Brady in 2007. What irks me is the double standard that some fans like to make that Brady always does it and Manning never does.

Well, considering I was the one who even brought up Manning stat padding yesterday, your beef shouldn't be with me. JerodMayo51 was the one who tried to make QB's running up their numbers exclusive to just Manning, when that couldn't be further from the truth

  8. Or that running up the scores means scoring 10 points the entire second half of which 4 was gifted to the Pats on a personal foul by the Lions on a chip shot FG allowing the Pats to walk into the end zone from the 1 on the next play.

Less than 2 minutes left in the game, Detroit with no timeouts left. They opted to further run up the score rather than take 3 knees and end the game. I don't really have a problem with it, but they were clearly running up the score at that point. They did the same thing in a number of games in 07 as well, so if the OP has an issue with Peyton for being a stat padder, he should certainly hate Brady as well. 07 was bordering on embarrassing with how hard Brady was trying to surpass Peyton's record

  9. Tired of this even being an issue. The staff has failed on all levels in regards to addressing the trenches. We looked good for awhile, but it's apparent we still don't have the proper talent or coaching on the line. The thing most troubling is the lack of a real plan to address this. I think Grigson and co are just tinkering with the line, at this point

  10. I find it irritating that the Broncos run illegal pick plays time after time, but are never called. Go back and watch Sanders 2 point conversion; he was wide open because Welker hit his defender .

...They got called for it maybe one drive before that

  11. Cribbs is one of the better return men in the history of the NFL. Seriously. I think the graphic today showed he's got 11 career TD's in KO and punt returns.

He returned the opening kick off of the game about 45 yards. And he also busted a long punt return. (Can't remember if that one was brought back by penalty.) Every time he touches the ball, it looks like he's got a shot to run a long way....

    Clearly an upgrade over Griff....

EDIT: I see your point now.

So, your contribution to the discussion is Josh Cribbs instead of Joe.

    Wow.... thanks for that......

I don't think he's out of line correcting you on the guy's name

  12. DQ did have 11 tackles last week. He cannot make every tackle. This is a team sport. If the DL demands double teams he should get some free shots. They hit him with blockers all game long. The DL was NOT doing their jobs.

I need to ask where has Freeman been? MIA?

Andrew Jackson can stop the run.....he is worse than DQ in coverage. He will get better the more he sees the field IMO.

DQ has consistently been out of position facing the run and overmatched facing the pass, all season. Most of his tackles in the last game were after long gains. I was never high on us acquiring him, and he's proven to be even worse than I was expecting initially
