  1. I'd take a shot on him. If he is good then great. Otherwise he's cut like anyone else. The bullying thing cannot define him because he is human and has emotions. Every single player in the NFL can be mentally torn down if it goes on long enough. This isn't about that nonsense. This is about his football talent, the bullying thing means nothing. To me, he's just any other mediocre lineman with a little bit of upside and nothing more, nothing less.

  2. I want to second Kenny Bell and Dee Hart.

Kenny Bell is a very smart player and has good hands. He will be a solid complimentary receiver in the future. It doesn't hurt that he is an absolute class act.

Dee Hart has had all the tools to be a good back but was always stuck behind someone at Bama. When he graduated and went to play with McElwain at Colorado State, he showed what he could do.

  3. I want to grab two new safeties this offseason, with at least one in the draft. The only guys worthy of a top 3 round pick are Landon Collins from Alabama and my boy Gerod Holliman, and I'd be happy with either. They remind me of Donte Whitner and Jairus Byrd, respectively.

  4. It's mind boggling for those who don't want one of the top RB's. Guess fans here like the Colts to finish last in Rushing on yearly basis. Keep dreaming about getting Melvin in the draft. So we have Boom or bust, injury riddled Ballard and half-season Bradshaw. Sure, those 3 are way superior to Murray.

This is nothing to do with him not being wanted. It's everything to do with the price tag he is asking. On the open market, after last season, where he put up incredible numbers (by carrying the ball more than anyone else with no regard for his long term health and also behind the best offensive line in the league, no less) he is going to get paid, and big time. I just don't want to see the Colts sign him for that much money. The risk is just too high for what seems to be little reward.

Yes, he's talented, but he's still just a "good" back. He's nothing too special. Throw any decent back behind that line and they will look awesome. That's how lines work. Speaking of that, we should invest in one of those...

  5. It's based on proximity, playing the other teams in high profile games, divisions, and fanbases.

For example, we have the New York "derby" rivalry of the Giants and the Jets. Other proximity rivalries include the Bears and the Packers (who also would fit into the division argument, and subsequently their fans HATE each other). Comparable to any derby where the teams are essentially the same strength (for example not like Fulham/QPR/West Ham v Chelsea, but like Arsenal v Chelsea).

High profile game rivalries tend to be playoff rematches that happen more than a few times. An example of this was Manning's Colts against Brady's Pats. The team rivalry has stayed intact, but the main part of it has now shifted to Denver with Peyton Manning. Comparable to Chelsea v Liverpool recently.

Divisional rivalries are, for the Colts at least, pretty limited because we are in a weak division that we can pretty much win every year, and geographically it makes no sense so we have no proximity rivalries. For us, it just comes down to us fighting them for the playoff berth out of the AFC South. A big divisional rivalry would be Pittsburgh vs Baltimore. Obviously these aren't really comparable to the EPL.

Fanbase rivalries are generally the most heated that we get to experience. One that the Colts fans get to experience would be with the Ravens. Baltimore fans hate Indianapolis fans because we have "their team" and Indianapolis fans hate Baltimore fans because they have their own team again and we want them to just let it go already and quit their whining (which is honestly one of the most annoying things in sports in my opinion). This is most like the EPL. Fans are passionate abut their team, and when they hate another team, they hate everyone that loves said team.

  6. Offense - B+. Andrew is constantly under pressure and the backs have been good, but not great. Solid attack though.

Defense - B-. The secondary play has been very decent (other than Vontae), but otherwise the defense has been pretty good, especially without Rob.

Special teams - A-. Best kicker in the league. Best punter in the league. Top 5 gunners in the league. Solid return guy. Someone said it was the best special teams in the modern era and they are exactly right, but there is always room to improve.
