  1. I defiantly realize we have needs.

    no we get that.

What I dont think you're getting is that we still have holes on our team that we HAVE to fill, could we pick up some UDFA or FA that's still in, absolutely, but why do that when most of those FAs are gonna suck or be worse than what we could potentially get yet.  Keep in mind, Grigson normally finds at least one gem in Rounds 3 thru 7, sometimes even 2 gems, so lets keep our picks.

I do realize we have needs. I'm thinking of the future. Our OL although better will be on a learning and bonding curve this year. Our secondary D is much improved and will be strong giving even a weak interior D a fighting chance. With Mathis and Cole healthy and a few good FA we should be fine there. Then next year Draft some great D guys with great 1st and 2nd round picks. Gems are great (if) found. Big picture

  2. Sure! Trading down means we can't trade those for great picks next year? We have done way stranger things in the past. I just believe we have plenty to work with this year. Why gamble with 4th or later picks when we can use what we have left to move up next year and go big on D

I agree we are getting stronger don't forget we picked up S's Southward (68th pick 14) Aikeen Davis and stole CB Mitchel from Washington at the end of last year.

I would like to add CB LeShaun Sims from S Utah 6'0 203lbs in the 7th round. He has length and speed you look for and can play press coverage.  He ran a verified 4.41 40 in the spring 4.58 I think at the combine. I like his teammate Cowser as an OLB too.

I'd like to see us trade off our remaining picks so we can go big on D next year in the draft. Adding more DB's is overkill. We have a lot of talent back there already.

  4. Our secondary is strong. Our OL has gotten the attention it has needed. We can pick up interior D from free agency. If there is one more really good OL man out there. Take him then trade off the rest of our picks for better picks next year. Go big on our interior D next year. What do you think?

Mathis and Cole for another year and then hit OLBer hard.

Yeah I don't see needing to draft any DL line guys this year. Get one more good OL guy if a good one is available and trade the rest of our picks for better picks next year. Our D secondary is Strong. OL getting the attention it has needed. We can pick interior D from free agency. Pick interior D in draft next year

Some people will never be satisfied with whatever they do.  If they woulda picked a DE, LB, and S then people woulda cried that they still can't protect Luck.  There are only so many picks and so many holes you can fill at once.  Sure, I would like to have had a top-tier pass-rusher already in the fold but I applaud the steps they have taken so far.  Luck has to be protected and they are taking steps to ensure that.  There are still several picks left plus UFA's to go.  Let's see what happens.

These are the picks we were all crying for last year. OL was top priority. No doubts about that

  7. ...This is the game Dorsett was drafted for.

NE took T.Y. out of the games by doubling him.  We drafted Dorsett to be on the field if this happens again so we have 2 dynamic deep threats on the field same time.  I hope Dorsett, T.Y. and A.J see a lot of time together Sunday night.

Honestly, ! can see the reasoning for keeping Dorsett off the field so much to this point being 2 fold:

1: he's a rookie and been establishing himself with  the QB, offense and NFL speed.  To clean up things from a rookie standpoint and polish himself some more.

2:  Keeping Dorsett off the field so much up to this point has kept him off B.B.'s radar so much.  Hard to game plan for someone when there is not much tape to use.  Bring him in A LOT this coming game, T.Y. on one side, Dorsett on the other, and A.J./Montcrief in the slot, or use 4 WR sets alot also.  We have not done much 4WR sets lately, so now would be the time.  Make them spread thier defense out, then run it down their throats with Gore/Bradshaw over and over, and when they creep their safeties up, let the WR's go........

    I like it!

  8. I understand the reasoning behind letting Matthew run the show this week vs Andrew NCF, but here's the problem with that stance: Even if we win the AFC South easily this year, INDY is bound to see NE on a collision course again & QBs never grow, adapt, & improve on the sidelines. It's like driving ed from the back seat. A useless exercise. Put Andrew out there & if we lose we lose, but he's had time off for a couple of weeks now, & even in defeat Andrew gains experience against NE's LBs, safeties, & CBs.

Luck's gotta suit up & play ball just to see if he can learn to throw fewer picks, gain more completions, & be more patient as the game progresses. No Hasselbeck. It's Luck or forget it. Baptism by fire is the only way to go unless INDY's medical staff sits him down on purpose that is.

Do either of you believe Luck isn't playing this game?

  9. I noticed that too. He winced when Hassleback started to pat him on the chest. Like he was guarding it and expected pain. I would be surprised if he wasn't with as many hits as he has taken.

B>T>W    Grigson: Write another note... This time in Capital letters..( PROTECT #12)
