I said this on IG because there was a mock that had us taking Bowers: As much as most people like Odunze, Nabers, and Coleman, I would be okay if the Colts went with Bowers in round 1, and got another receiver in round 2. Yes we have Jelani Woods but he’s proven nothing yet, and Ballard should always push to be better at positions that aren’t 100% solidified. You’re losing MAC in FA anyways. You can have a depth chart of Bowers, Woods, Ogletree, and Mallory. 2nd round you get a guy like Xavier Legette or A.D. Mitchell. It also makes sense because Richardson seemed to throw to the TE’s more than Minshew.

What about Granson?  Is he cut?

I concur - Houston Texans will win the AFC South - in the first year with DeMeco Ryans at the helm - AND - rookie CJ Stroud under center.

Sadly - DeMeco Ryan's coaching this year - may - nudge Shane Steichen out of the "NFL Coach of the Year" conversation.

BOTH men are deserving of this honor!!

If we win out, and some people lose, we could end up THIRD seed, which is crazy, and it's not out of the realm of possibility.

  3. I said it in the other thread, but seeing his growth from the start of the season has been awesome!  I'm amazed that we are in playoff discussions, especially down so many starters this year.  Minshew's leadership has really show through,  makes me excited to watch the Colts every Sunday.  I've been down on him on the bad games, but he's proven he can improve throughout the season.

Yeah, with what he has done with not having Taylor most of the season and a backup QB is pretty amazing. His play calling is 2023 (in the now), not 1993ish as well. If he wasn't our head coach, we would not be 8-6. We have had a lot of injuries and have still managed to have a good/fun season.

Nice job Ballard too.  There was a lengthy interview process and it seems he got this one right!

Next week will be very interesting & clarify a lot.

1.) Browns/Texans is an interesting one. I’m not so sure we shouldn’t be rooting for the Texans to win. We will need to win Week 18 anyways. Regardless, one team has to lose so it helps us somewhat.

2.) I don’t think Jacksonville loses to Carolina or Tennessee (Levis may sit the rest of year too). With Lawrence possibly out (& Jags looking subpar), the Buccaneers have a legit shot to win next week. Our division hopes likely come down to next week IMO

3.) Steelers/Bengals is another interesting one. We should root for the Steelers to win. However, even if the Bengals win, it at least eliminates the Steelers from the conversation.

Why do you think Levis would sit the rest of the year?

  6. Shane is amazing!  From the way he coaches the players, down to the o line coach he picked (that was his choice,  right?), he seems to get the best out of everyone. I know this won't happen,  but I'd love to see a Hard Knocks series of him leading the Colts!  I also want to give a shout out to Minshew.  You can see his growth from the beginning of the season to now,  and he's a great leader on n this team.  No matter happens these next three games,  I feel much happier now than in the past couple of years.  I'm also excited to see AR grow next year,  and can't wait for more Pierce connections down the field!

I have no idea how Russell Wilson went from scoring all those points his last years in Seattle to just being trash his whole time in Denver.

Denver's O line is trash, and I don't know what happened tonight,  but the defense just fell apart.  It looked like Surtain II was getting picked on, which I didn't think was possible.  The defense reminded me of our defense last game against the Bengals.   They just had s bad game. I live near Denver and the rest of my family are Broncos fans,  so I watch a lot of the games.

Ebukam, another 49er steal.  Buck was the first.  Remember when we got buck, people didn’t think he was good enough for the 2nd we gave them.  Ebukam has been a very good signing.

happy for dayo also!  Hoping that he turns into an every down defensive end.  But that would mean less snaps for qwitty :(

I thought we gave up our first rounder for Buckner.

    - Colts followed up their worst performance of the season last week with probably their best all-around performance of the season this week.

    - Mishew was outstanding.  In retrospect, the play he made finding Pittman down the sideline for the big gain in the 2nd quarter changed the game.  Best game of the season from him.  I think he has really been less skittish, disorganized in the pocket the last two games and its led to perhaps his most consistent stretch of the season.

    - Huge hats off to the O-line.  Their play in opening the way for Sermon and Goodson in the 2nd half was exactly what was needed.  That's called earning your money.

    - Gus Bradley did play a lot more man coverages than what we've seen previously.  I'd like to continue see him do it and not revert back to his comfort level with zone.

    - Only real negative IMO was Matt Gay.  The team does need him to figure it out ASAP.  He gets paid way too much to miss some of the FGs he has missed the past two weeks.

Someone mentioned he's a new dad, and looked tired.  Players are human too, and he bounced back within the game.
