  1. You think past good qb’s have had anything to do with Steichen and BB reputations?😏
  2. Genius coaches look much smarter with Jalen Hurts or Tom Brady. Otherwise their teams look like two fat heavyweights.
  3. Maybe so but Jimmy is the one being quoted.
  4. Very successful guy accumulates the resources to buy an NFL franchise. NFL franchise explodes in value as television dollars grow exponentially. Successful owner dies and hands over the team to his odd, troubled son. What could go wrong? No, I’m talking about the Raiders. The one smart thing Davis wants to do is add smart guy Brady as a minority owner and is willing to do it for a discount. And of course, guess who is trying to block it?
  5. All chips in… needy Jim’s pockets.
  6. Not for at least another year and we have a million other holes to fill, but if our commitment to having an option qb works out next year like it has this year it might be time to rethink the future. In an era of concussion protocols there is no such thing as having your “bell rung” and returning to action in a few minutes after the administration of smelling salts. AR was concussed and got his shoulder blown up on designed runs after only playing a few games. We’ll see next year if it was just a fluke. But for now we are committed to Steichen, AR and qb designed runs and option plays.
  7. An independent neurologist must clear him. I am cynical about a lot things but believe the players association would never stand for having a dishonest independent neurologist under the owners’ unofficial control. As for 45 years ago, a rung bell would have merited smelling salts and a brief rest on the bench.
  8. For those of us older than dirt, we can probably remember several lifetime “events” that weren’t ever diagnosed since we weren’t knocked out — and being knocked out used to be the point concussions were diagnosed. If you played football or other sports and got your bell rung, you were given smelling salts and a brief rest. But even non-sports injuries like falling on your head a dozen times as a kid would probably now be considered at least minor concussions. So am I now as an old fart more likely to suffer a concussion than I was before I had any concussions (and I did have one bad one treated at the ER)? I doubt it. But the science is obviously evolving quickly concerning even “mild” concussions, so I now question all of my previous knowledge on the subject. For example, CTE was unheard of until the recent past, so obviously we need to be open minded as the research continues. A good place for people to develop more knowledge of the possible consequences of failing to let a concussion heal is to Google Second Impact Syndrome.
  9. Safety has really changed from the bad old days of simply assuming a “rung bell” without loss of consciousness wasn’t a big deal to today. I wouldn’t be shocked if this lasted weeks to months. Obviously AR isn’t hesitant to be honest about his symptoms.
  10. Colts are already throwing in more money. They will pay him for 17 games even though he has been on strike for the first four. 😅
  11. I had trouble spotting him and announcers ignored his presence.
  12. Yep, noticeably slowed as he approached the goal line so probably wasn’t totally prepared for the hit. This was potentially a costly lesson as concussions seem to be additive.
  13. When he scored the second TD he definitely slowed down as he realized he’d score. That left him open to get flattened. Hopefully he doesn’t repeat Luck’s first few years when he also didn’t avoid hits.
  14. Probably not true but it will be true soon enough if AR doesn’t protect himself. Unfortunately it appears AR is following Luck's path of taking on linebackers as a rookie. Steichen should force him to slide. It should obvious to Steichen we don’t have the Eagles oline.
  15. I like Steichen. He's young but certainly learned a lot Sunday about fourth down plays and QB injuries with this oline.
  16. No running back, a bad line and a QB who thinks he is indestructible (ala Luck). We will need Minshew sometime this year.
  17. No need to eat the whole bird yet. He’s only played 1 of 17 games so far. The repeated concussions are a bad omen and no doctor has figured out how to cure chronic back problems permanently. Fingers crossed.
  18. They better get Taylor back for game 5. AR is not going to last physically half the season without help.
  19. They are probably reluctant to cut him lest they anger his/JT’s agent.😝
  20. Serous answer: Shaq is worthless and always has been. Conversely, Darius was a great player. I wonder where he went after retirement.
  21. Consider the guy has always been a star - and life tends to be easy for stars. Now he is facing a bit of adversity and he has responded like a spoiled punk.
  22. Fine. My point is putting him on IR takes him off the radar until the off season. Now he will continue to suck oxygen out of the room. I suppose there could be a McCaffrey-like mid-season offer but the guy is becoming a cancer that no one is likely to overpay.
  23. Should have put him on IR and let the team play this season without his shadow.
  24. Since Irsay seems to be calling the shots on most of the big decisions, I wonder if he might direct Ballard to put JT on injured reserve today and thereby end his season. Sounds crazy but it seems this situation has been more about emotion than rational thought on both sides for weeks.
