I don't think the Colts will have to cut him. He's going to call it quits, tomorrow.

Now, -12.5.

Bob sanders returned from injury that is what made the defense great in 2006 going into the playoffs.
MPStack mentioned Rob Morris in an earlier post. I wholeheartedly agree with him. In fact, I've always said that replacing Gardner with Morris carried as big an impact as Bob coming back late in that season.

It seems that it's much quicker going from good...to cruddy.

I took the Chiefs, -10.5, first thing this morning. It's now 12. Now, with Geathers hurt, I suspect it's not done going up.

This. They were hardly ever successful and now they're nearly impossible.
Yup. Roughly the odds of our D getting a stop.

48-17 Chiefs

Why would Jerry dump a former first round draftee after two seasons?
We did it after 3. Remember Jerry Hughes?

The "Pressure Cooker."

If you're going to try and trade a QB, I say, get rid of Hoyer.

I don't care if he ever returns one. He catches the damned thing. I don't find myself holding my breath with Chester back there. It seems that most decent returns are negated by a penalty, anyway.

Titans probably feel they finally will get a win against the Colts. I agree....Vinatieri misses 2 more easy fg's. Will retire after the game....Titans win 21-17.

A tie between Jack Doyle and Geathers.

Personally I don't think Luck is done either. I think he just needed to get away from the game a little bit. He's got the injury thing, the new marriage and the new baby on the way so I suspect all of it played into his decision making.
After a few months of changing diapers and middle of the night feedings, Irsay's phone might be ringing some night at 3:00 am..

I'm sick of looking at him, sick of reading about him, sick of talking about him. He's gone. I'm moving on to the season with who we have! GO COLTS!!!
-
If he ever would come back, I would hope the deal offered by Irsay would be 365 one day contracts.

Just for the fun of it, I would urge everyone who sees this to go to YouTube and search, 'Bert Jones'. Look for a 5:59 video. He talks about his attitude and injuries plus it shows a few highlights..There are a number of videos with many more highlights on them. For all of us oldtimers it is great fun. I think you younger people will enjoy it too.

Yes , wasn't it a rotator cuff that shortened Jones career, in the end?
Actually, it was a broken neck that ended his career.

You know good and well that it’s hyperbole to think he is retiring over a sore ankle. It’s an accumulation of several injuries, however, some of those injuries are from his own doing and some is because the team didn’t initially protect him and he played a bit more reckless as a young QB than he should have. He played like he was a lb’er at times. He shouldn’t have but he was playing like a kid in high school, that’s why so many people loved him. He brought enthusiasm for the game that I wished more did instead of making this their multi million dollar jobs.
I agree but I do believe I said; "last straw."

I just can’t see him in the ROH now. I don’t think you can quit at the beginning of a season and have no rings and expect to be recognized as a ROH type guy. Unfortunately, his legacy is going to be Bert Jones level. Sadly
Bert played through a great many injuries and finally retired as a result of a broken neck! Luck's last straw was a sore ankle or some damned thing.. I could understand this if he had to go through something similar to his shoulder injury.

What a pity the Colts didn't use a little logic with the Luck injury. They wait until a few days ago to search for something else other than the "calf strain." Many of us, who were made fun of, have suggested for quite a while that there might or must be something else. Calf strains don't take over 4 months to heal.
-
This is getting serious. If it hasn't healed in 3 months, what is there to indicate that after a setback, it will heal in 1 month. I don't like this at all.

A very sad day for all of us oldtimers.
