That first song 'Every Time We Touch" has a good techno beat to it. Reminds me of 1 of my college Freshmen neighbors back in my dorm days. He'd plays dance clubs tracks like that all the time & he looked like a bouncer too.

"Theme From A Summer Place" is a nice instrumental number. Only problem is every time I hear it, I think of the frat movie "Animal House."

"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?! I thought it was the Japanese? Forget it, he's rolling."

Well, there's this famous Sam Cooke song too...

I liked the "Love Is Blue" video tie in with the ocean pictures too. Thanks for another soothing instrumental JPPT. :hat:

I've leave ya with 1 of my favs that deals with romance even heartbreak...

On the "Prelude To A Kiss" movie soundtrack starring Meg Ryan & Alec Baldwin. Great flick too.

  4. March 2017 Quiz #4 Who was the name of the actor, that was decapitated by a helicopter while doing the "Twilight Zone" movie in 1982? As two kids died with him as well.

Ah some things are slowly coming back to me.  Think those two children were also illegal hires.  Not illegal immigrants but illegal hires.  Think because of this incident Hollywood was required to address safety issues.  Thanks again JPPT.

      JPPT1974

Really not a good way for Vic and the kids to die. As really no movie or TV show is worth dying in real life for.

    4. JPPT1974

      JPPT1974

BTW it is on Youtube. If you go to either "Twilight Zone Tragedy Vic Morrow" Or Vic Morrow death it is on there. Not for the squeamish. Will not put this up here due to it being a family friendly board.

The reason I like Mr. Cohen so much is that deep voices in music outside of barbershop quartet groups or country groups like the Statler Brothers or the Oak Ridge Boys for instance don't typically reach a mainstream following, but Leonard sure it.

JPPT, did you see the intro to SNL after the election? It was very well done.

Sidenote: My post isn't meant to be perceived as a political statement of any kind. I just like how elegantly this composition was performed that's all.

Gone Girl, the best movie of last year won nothing. Crappy year.

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

Part of that is due to when the studio releases the picture Bogie. If you wanna get consideration from the Academy, you distribute the film in December so that by the time the Oscars roll around in Late February, Gone Girl is still fresh in voters minds. Plus, female serial killers don't usually get nominated for awards in male dominated Hollywood. Sharon Stone didn't for "Basic Instinct."

    4. southwest1

      southwest1

I will admit though that actress Charlize Theron did win an oscar in 2003's "Monster" portraying a disturbed women named Aileen Wuornos who became a serial killer & was convicted & got the electric chair based on a true story apparently anyway. But normally, violent depictions of real life mass murders don't typically get recognized by the academy in nominations or hardware though.

Mike Wallace was one hades of an investigate reporter. He sat down with everybody. Kings, presidents, dictators, politicians, you name it.

Mike didn't take grief from anybody & he knew how to challenge heads of state when he thought he wasn't being told the truth. Man, I wish reporters today had half the courage & moxy Mike did. Journalists have no teeth anymore.

Then, it hit me. "Stuck On You" the movie starring Matt Damon & Greg Kinnear with actress Meryl Streep...Want proof?
