  1. It's almost a certainty he will play. The odds of any QB making it through 17 games is very slim. Especially AR who is reckless and appears to injure easily
  2. How do you know the goal of the signing was for Flacco to mainly be a mentor? Every team needs a backup QB. It's obvious he was brought in to play if needed. If he can provide some help in the QB room thats fine. But they didnt pay Joe 9million to be a coach. They have plenty of coaches for that. Perhaps Flacco isnt even the type of QB who helps along the younger QBs? Maybe he keeps to himself? and just earns his pay on the field?
  3. Look. I get most here are happy with the Flacco signing. I am not. He is 40 years old and immobile. We will be facing many of the leagues top DE/Edge rushers. Our line did ok at times. and they stunk at times. Remember Raiman getting bullrushed over. or the countless times Blake Freeland looked like the human turnstile. We still have assignment trouble with stunts, blitzes etc. Our offense, with the current line, needs a QB that can move. It's pointless for me to keep trying to defend my opinion, since the entire forum is enamored with Joe. So I'm done. We will just have to wait and see. Perhaps Joe will be outstanding? Or perhaps, after this stint with the Colts, he will be joining Matt Ryan, in the press box, come 2025?
  4. Both AR and Minchew were always rolling out or scrambling last year. At least GM could move a little.
  5. Me too I'm done arguing. Don't have time to watch the video. But I bet it does not show the 2 pick sixes in the 14-45 playoff blowout? You (and it seems everyone else here) love the Joe Flacco signing. I do not. We are all entitled to our opinions. Should Flacco be called upon in 2024, (which I believe is a very high probability) I hope you are all right. And since he is now a Colt I will be rooting for him to succeed.
  6. He's been around for like 20 years. I know what Joe Flacco brings. An old QB who needs a clean pocket. Something the Colts have a very hard time providing. Before Cleveland acquired grabbed him in desperation nobody even wanted him. And sorry, this forum is not only for positive feelings and Colts cheerleaders,
  7. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/dolphins-release-xavien-howard Dolphins release Xavien Howard Cornerback Xavien Howard is officially free to sign with another team. The Dolphins announced Howard’s release shortly after the 2024 league year began at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday. The move was expected, but the Dolphins waited to make it in order to make Howard a post-June 1 cut and clear $18.5 million in cap space come that date.
  8. It seems (with the exception of the Colts) the AFC South is signing all the top FA players
  9. I get what you are saying, but I would disagree about the feelings toward Pierce. Its my opinion, most here on the forum, are not high on Pierce at all, and most feel he has underachieved for 2 years. Bordering a bust. I am not saying the team should give up on him. But no reason he should just be penciled in as the starter. There even has also been a fair argument here that MPJ is not really up to elite number 1 status. It was quite obvious, our WR group was one of the weakest points on the team. Especially the lack of separation and having no real deep threat. Bringing back the same three guys again, would surely be viewed as a total off season failure by the front office. With this draft class, should the Colts get one of the boards top WRs... that player might not only be better than Pierce, but possibly exceed even Pittman. I believe where Ballard's expertise will come into play, is choosing the right WR. Since the class is so deep, it's my understanding, there are several sleeper picks, that could be had a bit farther down the board, who may be as good, if not better, than some of the "blue chip" first round players.
  10. I don't know where you are coming from with Pierce? I have not heard one person say they think Pierce is ready to explode? If the Colts draft a WR with their 1st or possibly even 2nd round pick, I would expect that player would be able to start.
  11. Assuming they don't sign a FA wideout, The Colts will most likely draft a WR early in the draft. I have not heard anyone say Pierce is about to explode?
  12. I get your frustration, but they weren't going to bring Bryan back, and Johnson has been "just a guy" So maybe this signing will help us more than we think. I do agree Ballard now needs to fill in the bigger, more obvious, holes
