  1. I know. The free agent LB they just got is really good too. Our offensive line will have their hands full for sure in the two perennial matchups.
  2. I'm sorry if I came across as nasty. I do get wound up at times, about certain aspects of the Colts play, front office moves, decisions, etc. But I really only wish the best for our team. becoming a bit frustrated with the mediocre status we have held for the past several years and hope for winning football seasons once again, really want this off season to be a catalyst to the improvement. Good day to You!
  3. Another signing by Houston nobody is talking about is defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi. He was outstanding last year
  4. I read your posts and "liked" them. You were the one who really got me thinking about drafting a rookie, and Milton fits the bill. Your plan was what I was hoping for, figured having Sam (3 qbs) in the mix as well, in case of injury, could have also factored in. It's the main reason I am disappointed by the Flacco signing. Now if AR goes down, it's live and die with Flacco. There perhaps are some other rookie QBs out there besides Milton. Ill have to do my homework (as I always do) as the draft gets closer.
  5. Some good points. However, thus far, Cross has shown nothing. Seemed he could hardly get on the field. Then near the end of season, he did see time, and his play was nothing to write home about. Could easily be unseated or replaced. Some here are expecting Cross to start? Not ruling that out, as a slim possibility? But if they bring in decent competition, I don't Cross starting. Wouldn't be shocked if both Cross and Thomas end up training camp cuts. I did not think Harrison showed as much as others here do, We still need another NFL caliber LB... and I haven't seen his contract details yet? So I am not assuming he came that cheap?
  6. As for my opinion of the signings so far... Although Pittman's was huge money, I guess we had to pay him, since he is important for the team to succeed going forward. Loved the Tyquan Lewis signing (as I thought he was one of our best players last year). I'm ok with Stewart, Moore and Sanchez as well (three quality players) Like that we got Raekwon Davis, since the Tevan Bryan experiment failed, we needed to find another big body for up front, and by signing Davis we do not have to use draft choices at DT position I can understand why Ballard brought back Genard Avery, since he was signed last year as a pass rusher, and then got injured in training camp, missed whole year on IR. So I see giving him another shot this year. Have to admit, I do not like the Ronnie Harrison (felt we can do better) and Joe Flacco (too old and immobile) signings. Now going forward... I hope we can sign a FA CB, then we wont have to use our draft choices on CB position. We really need to find two safeties, either in FA or draft. I do not believe Thomas or Cross are NFL starting material. WR and Edge Pass Rusher and LB seem to me to be high priority for early round draft. I would cut Mo Ally Cox, and think we are ok at TE (with Granson, Ogletree, Mallory and Woods) but if Bowers should drop to 15? Then they would have to give him consideration. Could use additional depth at RB, OL, and maybe a rookie QB My biggest worry with Ballard, is he does not fill enough of these spots and fails to close the gap within our own division. Right now, I would think most of the "talking heads" media would predict our division as: (1) Houston (2) Jacksonville (3) Indy (4) Tennessee (with some maybe putting Tenn ahead of us) The FO has to find a way for us to win the division, or at least make wild card playoffs, or else I would consider the 2024 season a failure.
  7. I was listening to the latest from Kent Sterling today on youtube. He said, the Colts will definitely be signing a FA safety, but maybe not till later on down the road. He seems to think, the safety position isn't as hard to fill as other positions. And that quality veterans will be available, or come available, over time. Not sure I like that approach? but he does make a point.
  8. I am miserable in life? Seriously? Because I didn't like the signing of 40 year old QBs Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan? Thankfully, I am very happy with life. It seems you are the more miserable person, for taking such offense to my replies (to other folks comments. which were not directed to you in the first place). Regarding backing up my posts with a snapshot, I have to prove nothing to you. I did not "poo poo" every single move. Actually, my opinion, on the signings, is furthest thing from that. I think the Miami DT was a good signing, where as, nearly everyone else here, hated it. and I posted a few times, debating, as to why he was a good acquisition. I'm also hoping for a few more quality signings, of some new players, other than our own, over the rest of free agency.
  9. Thanks. Just to follow up on your post,.. I disagree with your forgone conclusion that everyone knows Sam not an NLF QB. As a matter of fact, Sam is indeed an NFL QB. And probably will be for some time forward. I would like to be stoked too. But am having a bit of trouble with that, seeing as our FO is once again re-signing all the same players we've had for the past few years, and It's hard for me to see us improving, without making any changes to fill the holes. I know it is still early, but up to this point, it's looking like another repeat of 2023... (or maybe worse?) While watching all three of our division rivals improve their rosters significantly. However, I do believe we still have a bit of cap space? and perhaps another signing or two should be coming down the pike? And of course the draft is super important for this teams success in 2024. Just hoping the FO can make the most of these opportunities. What I like about this forum is the freedom to talk, whether positive or negative, about all aspects of the Colts franchise. But as for the joyful vibe... My vibe is always dictated by the teams performance, and the FO making the right moves and decisions. And you are right... We do deserve it.,
  10. I'm done with Flacco posts. I said that ten times, but keep getting replies, and can't resist answering. goodnight.
  11. Not at all. But my position is just that we really don't know that was the driving force behind the signing. I am not sold (that the mentor aspect) was the case. All players are different. Perhaps Minshew is a better mentor than Flacco? We really dont know their personalities? Or teaching skills? I only know what I see them do on the field. I think Ballard's signing of Flacco had more to do with what Joe did in the final 4 games in Cleveland, than any tutoring (of Richardson) he may bring to the table. Perhaps you are right? Perhaps I am? or maybe a little of both?
  12. Certainly not the end of the world. But I really shouldn't be getting crucified for simply not being wild about the Flacco signing?
  13. I would think he will eventually get another chance. Probably not with Indy, but with another team. He will be older and have more experience. May turn out to be a fine QB perhaps? He seems to have the character and moxxy? Lacking some in the physical areas Right. I just made a similar comment above
  14. Yeah. I get what you are saying... But really the only way to see if a guy can play, is to let him play. It's all just judgement. Even the Colts staff and FO don't really know, outside of practice, since he hasn't played in a meaningful game, excluding preseason (where he usually excels) and when he was thrown out there with a terrible line. Oh well, it is what it is, Have to hope AR can stay healthy (and not suck) or if he does... Hope Flacco can come in and look like he did in those few Browns games at the end of last season.
  15. I see Milton going lower. But that's who I want us to take. I thought maybe if we didnt sign a vet? Just don't know if they do it now? But right, cut Sam and pick Milton.
  16. Right. Sam got thrown out there (by Irsay?) vs NE. the team was a mess. then Saturday came in and went back to Ryan. Steichen come over and the new staff and Ballard wasn't confident enough in Sam to give him the job. So they paid Minshew, and again Sam never got a chance. Now Flacco is here and it's another repeat. Sam will be out of Indy, maybe this year? I just would have liked to see him get a chance, with a good team, and all the starters playing. I'm not saying I'm convinced he would be good? But I also not convinced, he would'nt be
  17. That is a terrible game to blame on Ehlinger. Probably, the worst blocking performance in the Colts history. Perhaps even in the leagues history? Reichs coaching was atrocious. Bill Belichick made our coaching and line look like fools. No QB could have played well under those conditions.
  18. Well. I was just saying, I would have liked for Sam to have gotten a chance. And if he stunk, then go with the rookie QB, or vice versa. The Flacco signing is the same thing again. Like Minshew was.
  19. Which really is no better than just cutting him. Unless both AR and Flacco go down? Sam will go through, another year on the bench
  20. I did not want GM back, even at a low cost. Thats the reason I did not like the Flacco signing. I was hoping we would acquire or draft a mobile, athletic, QB similar qualities to Richardson. and would like to see what Sam could have done if called upon. Now Sam will either be cut, Or entrenched on the taxi squad.
  21. Do you know for sure that Flacco is some brilliant teacher of QBs? Is that something you heard? He has a special quality to work with young players? Like I said, perhaps that's not the type of person he is? Maybe he is a great teacher? Or maybe hes just a dumb jock?
  22. So Ballard's biggest concern for the backup is coaching along Richardson? What make Flacco a better coach than any other veteran QB. Do you know that Flacco has some certain credentials that make him one of top outstanding teachers among quarterbacks? The more logical reason would be, what many here are saying. He played well in the final 5 games for the Browns
  23. It's almost a certainty he will play. The odds of any QB making it through 17 games is very slim. Especially AR who is reckless and appears to injure easily
