  1. By your logic, the Colts should've never signed Rivers because his most recent season prior to Indy was a statistically terrible season with the Chargers. I also find it interesting that you make excuses for Darnold's surroundings but don't seem to afford the same benefit to Wentz. The difference is, Wentz HAS shown the ability to play well. Darnold simply has not.

  7. I'm going to settle this argument once and for all. Don't under any circumstances ever trade for what a player was! Trade what a player is! Tons of posters are talking about Wentz and his ability to return to form but who knows if Colts ever see 2017 version again. Wentz value is shot right now because most GMs are skeptical of his contract and his ability to return to form. There's 0 reason whatsoever to offer a 1st even if Ertz is packaged in the deal. Darnold on the other hand has been handed a rough hand the entire time and the only way to go from ther

  11. I predict by no later than Tuesday we'll have aquired Wentz. I just hope Reich is the Quarterback whisperer that many think he is. With he and Brady's help I hope they will be able to turn him around. If so we could have a really nice ride for a lot of years. Check in Wednesday to see if it happened or if I am a crappy prognosticator like the other guys on twitter.

  13. Having grown up a Bears fan until 1987 I still catch the Bears games from time to time and I have begun to think about Mitch Trubisky as a potential long term answer at QB. We know some of the history, one year starter in college who had a great season. Drafted higher than he should have (above both Mahomes and Watson) and has been solid and spectacular at times in the NFL. Now, with 4 years of NFL experience plus his 1 year of college he would be considered a "2nd Year" QB in this league, realistically. 29-21 Record with the Bears, 64% completion percentage

  14. Do any of you really think it would be OK with Irsay to just give it a try with Eason and if it doesn't wrk out we have a higher draft pick??????? Do you think it is OK with Ballard? Reich? The players on the team? Seriously? For those clammering for Eason. You haven't seen him in action, practice, film room etc. BUT Ballard and Reich have. Players have, Irsay has. Ssome of you need to stop thinking you're smarter than the people that get paid to make these decisions. There is a reason they have these jobs and have been very successful.

But he's a player in desperate need of a favourable situation with the supporting cast capable of rebuilding his confidence. The prospect of him behind a competent offensive line is intriguing, whether that be him moving on elsewhere or the Jets adding more pieces in the trenches alongside offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, who showed promising glimpses in his roo

  21. So someone on twitter responded to me and said it’s all over Phili radio stations that it is thought to be the eagles don’t want to send Wentz to the colts because they believe Reich will have him looking good.

  22. I have always tought he would go to the Bears because they would offer offer more. Nagy and Pace on the hot seat. I also believe that the Eagles would prefer to shop him any where else but the Colts. Reuniting with Reich could once again make him into an elite qb. Thay could look bad on the Eagles long term if Wentz excels.

  24. I don't think Carr is that kind of QB. He's in the Kirk Cousins tier. He's serviceable but expecting him to take your team to SB IMO is not realistic. I think Wilson and Fields on rookie deals are much more likely to give you the edge you need to go all the way.

  28. Bridgewater to the Colts is about as exciting as grade school cafeteria food. Sometimes you just don't have a choice, but when you do, you never do it again. Bridgewater is just a slight upgrade in talent to JB, but doesn't know the system... Not going to happen. I'd love him as backup on a low dollar deal though.

  29. Ballard trading a 1st for Wentz is about as likely as it snowing in Texas

  30. Look deeper. In 2019, Wentz had the #1 OL. Yes, he had injuries to WR, but he still had time with Agholor and Jeffery (and IMO, he didn't fully utilize that time). He did rather well with TE (Ertz and Goedert) and decent throwing to RBs. His game just seemed to change and he was very funky overall. I'm critical of Luck, but he made guys like Rogers and other tier 2 and 3 WRs look good. Wentz did not, which is one my issues with him. He's just not a good dealer IMO. I think he could have done a lot better with the addition of JJA-W too for instance in his rook year. Darnold had a

  34. Serious question: what has anyone seen in Trubisky for him to be your #1 option. How is Trubisky better than Darnold?
    3 points
  35. Not super excited about any of the more affordable options. But I believe Ballard and Co do their due diligence, set their value, and wont "overpay". I believe whatever we wind up with with be the best option of what we had available to us without hamstringing the organization. That said, I believe Ballard would sell the farm for the right guy and, given Chris' demonstrated philosophy and prudence, I'd be fine with that to. I wanted Stafford but that sailed, as I don't anticipate a HUGE move this year, I'm fine with Wentz, etc. I'd even like a post lasik Winston or F

  37. Although it is a guess, I feel like I'm in Ballard's camp....which I think is... "Look....we have to see what Eason has between the ears before we hand the keys to him. He's never even played a freakin game yet. But I'm responsible to build a team that gets wins. So I offered what I thought would be prudent for our organization at this time for Matt Stafford. It obviously was not enough. Now we have an offer out there for Carson Wentz. Same deal....we know what we can risk investing on players that other teams are moving on from. If the players we have targeted to play QB for....le

  38. My personal preference is trading up for one of Wilson/Fields/Lance(in that order). I think being cheap at the QB position is a mistake. You go get the best QB you can get... almost regardless of the price. (if Ballard loves any of them). I would personally be willing to give up multiple high value assets to move up for any of those I listed above.

  39. So you wanna trade away one of our linemen to start two rookies? Not like Cincy would even do that deal.

  40. This #4 was the partial downside. If it doesn't work then we get a high draft pick But even in the downside, there is still an upside. If a fan base leaves for 1 transition season then, who wants them as fans anyway. Those are not very good fans.

  41. This is where I'm at. I'm not all that high on Wentz at all, but if he's ours, he's ours. And I will pray it all works out. Once he puts the shoe on, I'll take a Wentz pill. I do think he ends up here, but at the same time, wouldn't be surprised at all if our mission continues. After the Stafford move to LAR, who I got a little bit excited about, I'm pretty meh on everything right now. I'm just kinda in a go with the flow mood, unless it's go with JB, or spend a ton of capital on Wentz. Wentz at least bring with it, the potential of his 2017 performance, and therefore hope.
