  1. I don't think they can generate much noise. I've seen people complaining about the canned crowd noise too......not being loud enough. I think we're giving up real crowd noise this year. Honestly, I'm just so glad to have football. Gives us a reason to make chili and have friends over to watch the game (on our screen porch). It is a welcome bit of normal and a distraction from the pandemic. I really really just hope the whole season gets played

  2. Likely before the because of incubation time frame. OTOH, they 'slipped by' safety testing procedures in place at Arrowhead- "According to Chiefs’ protocol, fans entering the open air field-box should have been tested prior to the game. A Chiefs spokesperson said the fan was not tested before the game based on information they said came from the health department. The Chiefs spokesperson said they do not yet know how the fan bypassed pregame testing." It appears teams and also their health department have ties/plans for situations like this. **The team issue

  3. Until we see this team put it all together...I don't feel safe predicting any type of stretch like that. This season has a lot of parity...more than I recall seeing in recent years. Of those teams you listed...only the NYJ appear to be a dumpster fire. CIN maybe...but they are still figuring things out with Burrow. I think CHI and DET are decent opponents...and CLE has talent. Going to have to take it one game at a time.

  4. He didn't call you silly, just that your comment was. He also didn't tell you what to think or say, just posted his opinion on a statement you made. That's literally the point of this forum and you took his post way too personally. Also, nowhere in this thread did he indicate that his number of posts somehow made him an authority on the Colts. Just like your years of fandom don't make you one either. You can't get up in arms at people not agreeing with a statement of yours that you're now walking back. It failed once...

  5. I believe the reporting isn't that someone caught it at the game, but that someone that attended the game tested positive.

  6. 10 of the Jags' points came from great field position due to interceptions. Our defense definitely needs to be more physical and we need to play more disciplined football but I'm happy with the potential of this team. Still very excited for this season

  9. I’ve found my new favorite way to watch a game. Really gives you an idea of what's happening. You can see play design, who’s out of position, who missed a block, who fell down, even who’s pickin their nose or scratchin their butt. All 22 on the field so you miss nothing. I especially like to see the blocking bubbles grow or collapse on the line. I just cant say how much i’m gaining from this. Each play is run twice...once from sideline (all 22), then from endzone (all 22). Great to see the plays develop, or a defender fly across the field to a tackle. No sound, so i

  10. From everything i saw hes going to be deadly on screens all year long. I like the little stretch run to the left he did in the redzone. Play looked stuffed but he still cut it up, got skinny and gained about 4 or 5 yards. He kind of runs like Cory Dillon to me. I think he will be fine

  11. It's too early to judge, but I don't know why anyone thinks the Browns, Bears, Lions, or even the Bengals games are going to be easier than the second part of the season. And historically, we haven't had much luck with the Jets. I agree with @shasta519 , the lack of OTAs and the preseason resulted in a lot of parity. I think as the season goes on, the wheat will start separating from the chaff. I just hope we're wheat.

  12. We went from thinking we're a deep playoff team to hot seating the staff... Feelings change like the wind here... Lol

  13. Zach Hicks does good work. This piece identifies that a lot of the big coverage busts came against man/match coverage. So much for that theory, right? Two of the three TDs, and Rhodes big penalty, were against man.

  14. My opinion of Jax changed a lot after that game. I think they're going to be a good team this season. Minshew is scrappy and resourceful. He's got two nice wideouts this year too. That RB they found is something too, #30. His power style gives them a nice look with him and Minshew. Line looks solid. The roster is loaded with young and talented kids. And the Jags have one of the better offensive staffs around (Marrone was already good and they added Gruden who I have a ton of respect for). I think this opinion of them being a trash team is beginning to look like g

  18. I don't see a huge benefit to teams having a few thousand people in the stands. It was pin drop quiet Sunday against the Jags. Almost everything we hear is coming from the artificial noise. Maybe if indoor teams go to 50% later this year, and other teams are still at zero, there will be an imbalance. Right now, I don't think there is. JMO.

  20. Agree 100% dude. Well put. Like I said, I was very discouraged (as a sports fan) by the performance. I really like Mack too. I hope my skepticism is off base about JT man. That would be great and I would be happy to come on here and say what a argumentative dumbadz I am.

  23. This doesn't read as having issues getting to the edge. That tells me he's more of a north/south runner and not a "jitterbug" type of RB, so essentially the opposite of Hines. He's not juking anyone out, but that's not the same as being able to take runs outside.

  24. How many times does our coaching staff need to see the zone defense not work before we finally decide to abandon it? At least for the majority of the game? The scheme should have gone the way of the immobile QB by now.... It is an outdated, predictable amd weak scheme that even QBs like Minshew can pick apart and make them look like top 5 QB material. Sure you can say that Minshew has shown some promise and arguably isnt a bottom tier QB and even has some good upside.... but let's not kid ourselves, he's no Patrick Mahomes / Russel Wilson / Drew Brees etc.... I for one want to see

  26. I've posted this in other threads, but I'll post it again. Minshew had one of the lowest average time to throw (tied for 2nd) in the league last week, meaning he didn't hold onto the ball long at all. That specifically helps neutralize the DL and pass rush. Also keep in mind that Buckner won't always show up in the box score. As the best player on our DL, teams are more likely to double him and leave others having 1-on-1 match-ups. At that point, it's up to them to beat their man and make some plays. Also, 32nd ranked team? By who? The talking heads? Before last week, every team wa

  27. I think the logic is that allowing such a small amount of people in tests the ability to manage and then you can scale up from there. Agreed it is a risk but it is probably step 1 to getting back to having a decent number of people in stadiums. Also, in theory, even with one person being positive, the attendees should be distanced enough that it will not be passed to many (if any) others. It is a fair question that you ask though.

  28. Hopefully 5+ to keep Lawrence out of the division (if only because I don't want to hear the constant comparisons to Peyton/Luck as if we're the past and they're the future, lol. Trevor has those kinds of expectations)

  33. Cubs have 5 to clinch a spot via Reds losing, and 7 to Clinch a division via Cards. Weirdly cuz of the schedule set up so far the Cards are in third but have a higher elimination number than Reds who are in second

  35. According to the official gamebook the Colts gave up 1 sack for 5 yards, 2 TFL and 4 QH (QB Hits). So I agree, that is really good for 46 pass attempts. And only 2 TFL on 22 running plays is really good as well. It shows that the oline was playing on the positive side of the LOS most of the game. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I also did not think Taylor looked impressive running, to me it looked like he was expecting things to work like they did in college, some of the moves he tried in the hole were things in college lead to big gains but the NFL lead to getting tackled faster.

  36. Agreed. And some of the teams that looked good in game 1 may not look so good come week 6 and vice Versa.

  37. Yeah I am disappointed by the loss because the Jags are a team we should beat. What really is bad is we out gained them yardage wise by a lot, controlled ToP even and still lost. Only way to offset this loss is win the next 2 games in reality and get to 2-1. One game at a time but we need the next 2 because of what happened Sunday.

  38. $100 Mil to the missing link to make this D Elite failed in wk 1 no matter how you slice it! My biggest disappointment came from a lack of presence from that one player alone. Never did I hear or see Buckner be anywhere close to a $100 mil prize on sun & that hurt the most. 19-20 for 3 tds w/ a 96% comp percentage to the 32nd ranked team! Buckner + Leonard is top notch in this league but got abused again vs the 32nd ranked team. Coaching: We lost 6 pts by not kicking the field goal early and a rookie miss from point blank! Why a rookie over a proven in Chase? Fans don'

  42. As always, is it the players, the scheme, or the execution? Way too early to give a definitive answer to that just yet. That said, execution was the devil in the details on Sunday. Rivers is an upgrade over Brissett. That I will make as a definitive statement. That doesn't mean that he was free from execution mistakes as well. Personally, that is the last thing I would want the Colts to do. Detrimental to the team, as well as to the QB. Can't agree with that. Exactly. I was literally fist pumping the air in celebration of this very fact. Tell opting

  43. You say that but look at the teams who lost Sunday. Jacksonville management may have been trying to tank, but the players sure weren’t. We gifted them 10 points and left at least 6 on the field by going for it on 4th down and missing that field goal. We beat ourselves and that’s just part of the game sometimes. Otherwise we would have won.

  46. Why exactly would Rivers throw deep if the clear intent of the Jax D was to take away the deep pass? Usually when defenses do that you respond by throwing short passes and screens plus running the football to force the to abandon the two deep coverage. Rivers and some perceived inability to throw deep due old manisms was not the problem. Problem was it made no sense to throw deep. We were chunking them with short stuff anyway. I think youre overblowing that stat

  47. What is it about Colts DCs being so afraid to play aggressive? Every time you play so far off the line of scrimmage gives them a better shot at completing a pass. Are our CBs so horrendous they have to play zone to be considered an NFL player? At this point its easier to win a shoot out than this bend and eventually give up a TD anyways defense.

  48. Good news for Justin Fields. I think he desperately needed this season since he was only a 1 year starter. So was Burrow but I think Fields needs more polish before teams really commit to him as a top 5 pick.

  49. That the problem being a colts fan. Too much wondering thru the desert. About every 20 years or so the Colts get good enough to make a showing. When Harbough was in town, I met him and Marchibroda playing golf in ST. Augustine. They must have thought I was crazy with my enthusiasm. Harbaugh gave me a colts hat and they both sighned it! I had not seen a Colts hat since the 70's.

  50. Can we stop with this misguided notion that zone defense doesn't work anymore? The problem isn't that the Colts are a zone defense, it's how they're running and executing it.
