  1. They have not been updated yet. Still remaining from last year. Will update if/when we get 2020 captains list.

  2. What? Wait......you mean he wasn't claimed......again! He is on the practice squad, because he deserves to be there. If he deserved more, someone in this QB starved league would snag him. Personally, I know of no Kelly haters here, just fans tired of armchair GM's stating fallacies about the ineptitude of the Colts coaching staff when it comes to recognizing Kelly's abilities.

  3. Sunday 9/13/20 at the Jaguars will be Rivers 225th consecutive start and 72 consecutive starts behind Brett Favre's all time record of 297 which could be broken in 2024 (including the playoffs it will be Rivers 236th consecutive start which is also 2nd all time, and 85 behind Favre's total record of 321). This is very impressive as Philip, the cream of the 04 class has done this healthy (other than a torn ACL which he played on anyways) when there are players like Rodgers class of 05 and Brees class of 01 and Brady class of 00 aren't even in the realm. Russell Wilson (class of 2012) of t

  7. Geathers was also a captain last season. I'm pretty sure they cleaned up the roster page to only show current team players (removed Geathers and AV from the Team Captains banner at the top). They always announce the new team captains as soon as the voting is done. I'm sure we'll see them post an article about it soon - and I'm quite sure they'll have more than 3 captains for 2020.

  8. Ballard said in an interview yesterday or the day before that Turay still has a bit of pain in the ankle and the last thing they want to do is rush him into the mix if he's not 100%. They want him fully healthy before they will risk putting him on the field. Ankles (and lower leg injuries) are troubling at times, because with pain in one there is often a tendency to favor the ankle and put more weight on the other leg, risking serious injury to the other leg. Ballard said he's been working his tail off in rehab, he's in good shape and he's taking extra time with the trainers to

  9. First, let me say, we’re very fortunate to have these two guys, running the team. Decisions are well thought out and it’s truly a collaborative effort. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen the Colts have such a deep roster. It seems like they’re two deep in most positions, with very few having a huge drop off, should a starter go down. Takeaways: Turay isn’t quite ready to return Blankenship has something special Patmon impressed with his ability to shed press coverage L’raven Clark has improved The practice squad is a different animal with the new rules

  10. Unlock the SWAG! It's fun seeing all the Kelly haters cheer for him to be cut, only to come right back to the PS. He's living rent free in a lot of minds on this board without ever having to take a snap lol.

  11. Click here to check it out, with a little bit of analysis at each position. It's a little bit different than last season — 12 positions now listed on both sides of the ball, including an extra WR spot (Parris Campbell) and the nickel cornerback spot (Kenny Moore II and Isaiah Rodgers). I think this officially means the regular season is now here!

  15. Ankou is listed at 6'3" 325 lbs -- Stallworth is 6'2" 305 lbs and people are saying he's around as the big body to back up Grover... to me, Stallworth seems like the causality here (we still have 2 spots on the PS, so maybe he lands there?).

  18. He’s had two shoulder surgeries. He’s dealt with some minor stuff the past couple years too that have kept him out of portions of TC or left him on the injury report. Nothing too serious in the pros besides the ankle though. I like Turay a lot, and I don’t think he’s super injury prone, but I think it’s fair to say it’s...I don’t know, a question mark I guess.

  20. There’s one thing I have to disagree with for the AFC South predictions. Why would the Jags fire Marrone? They’re obviously going for the first pick in the draft and Marrone is just the guy to get them there.

  21. I live near where he played high school in Bama. I remember people saying that Auburn and Bama were going to go after him. Neither did, maybe because of that odd throwing motion. I think he’s always been underestimated in that way. This is his last chance to get a ring. He’s smart enough to know his limitations and the team’s strengths. He’s going to do whatever it takes to win. I’ll admit, I was skeptical when we first signed him, but now I think it was the best move we could have possibly made.

  22. Let's remember the trade. The phrase "Brock for Broglio" is sometimes used in the sport of baseball to signify a trade that in hindsight, turns out to be an extremely lopsided transaction.[1] The names in the phrase refer to Lou Brock and Ernie Broglio respectively, the centerpieces of a June 15, 1964, six-player deal: Brock, Jack Spring and Paul Toth were traded from the Chicago Cubs to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for Broglio, Bobby Shantz, and Doug Clemens.[1] It was thought initially the Cubs had done better in the deal, as Broglio was coming off

  23. You tend to underestimate your team too much, I don't. I have seen this story a million times . Both of our teams are good though. At least the Cubs have made this a tough rivalry over the last 5 years. It really became a true rivalry after 2016 because the Cubs won it all, before that we were a team that was known as a team that couldn't win the big one. You guys have 11 Championships and usually rise when it counts.

  26. This is a tough one to judge. The staff seem high on Farrod Green, Grimble is a Veteran and Vollert balled out in the Chargers training camp before signing with us. All three of them spent a lot more time in the playbook and on the field as a Colt. While it may be temporary, they obviously saw SOMETHING that distinguished him over the 3 guys on the PS and puts him inline to play a role on week one? I hope he balls out and we don't have to bring Burton off the IR until he is 250% healed....

  28. Yup. I won't pretend that I don't wish we had more fire power and an heir to AC, but pretty happy overall. And I love hearing Clark is improving. I know he's not an heir to AC, but just happy to have a quality swing T. And who knows, maybe he'd be able in time to take RT if they ever wanted Smith to move to RG.

  31. To me, it's always been about getting hot at the end of the year. I would rather be 9-7 and squeak in the playoffs by winning our last 3 games, or 4 out of 5, than winning 11 games and losing 2 of your final 3. I think this league is more about momentum come playoff time than your record. Play well at the end of the season and qualify and you have a good shot.

  32. In his era, I have always considered Rivers a top 10 QB almost every year. There was a couple of years where he performed as a top 5 guy. I am glad we have him. I think QB's like Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Brees, and maybe Big Ben have been better over the years (Wilson, Luck, Ryan, Cam better at times) but Rivers is right there after that IMO. Right now we have Mahomes of course. Had Rivers had the defenses that Big Ben or Wilson had, Rivers would probably have a ring by now. I think Eli is a HOFamer because of his 2 SB MVP's beating the Patriots but Rivers is better in reality so Rivers belongs

  33. Good thread, I was about to post something similar. The number of draft picks we have the last 4 years from Ballard's drafts on this team is absolutely amazing. I was like a kid in a candy store looking at our 53 man roster and the turnaround this team has had. Literal potential everywhere. Everyone is going to contribute, and we can do something this year as long as we stay relatively healthy. For the first time in a long time, I can say the Colts have a very deep roster, and I feel we are good enough to play 60 minutes with everyone. We should all feel confident this year. Ballard and the sc

  35. Two great baseball players dying in one week. Brock's death came after Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver died Monday. Brock faced Seaver 157 times in his career. That was the most plate appearances against any pitcher for Brock, who was in turn the batter Seaver faced the most number of times, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

  36. Here's my thoughts on it, and I am not a Kelly fan boi. He very well may be the 2nd best QB on the roster, but with JB's cap hit and experience he isn't going to be on the roster in front of him this year. Then they couldn't risk losing Eason to a waiver claim(someone would of probably scooped him up). They already had a good feel on the league, that they could get Kelly to the PS. So, in conclusion, just because he is on the PS, that doesn't mean he is the 4th best qb on the team. Saying that though, that also doesn't mean he is the 2nd best qb on the roster either.

  40. New IR rules just for this year: » Unlimited return-from-IR spots (teams usually get just two [three under the new CBA, I believe]) » Players placed on IR have to sit out at least three games (any other year it's at least eight games) Just like any other year, to qualify, players have to make the initial 53-man roster and then be placed on IR. Once they return to practice after sitting out at least three games, it's still that 21-day window for the team to decide whether to move them to the active roster or revert to IR for the rest of the season.

  41. From what I read, McLoughlin was winning the competition. Maybe not by a lot, but had an edge. That’s why I’m surprised. But I trust this front office and coaching staff to make the right call. I may be surprised, but I’m not saying the Colts are wrong.
