  1. Hey everybody, Andrew Walker of Colts.com here. I’m just looking to expand our reach in the quest for the best questions for our Colts.com Mailbag. I’ll check back here towards the end of the week for any submissions you may have, or feel free to send them on our site here.

  2. Watson had a good year in 2019 with 26 TDs and 12 INTs. In 2018, he had 26 TDs and 9 INTs. If Luck had those stats, we would say that Luck had a down year. No way has Watson eclipsed Luck, and I don't think that's a controversial statement to make, right? Luck never made the Super Bowl, unlike Russel Wilson. By the way, what was the Seahawks' defensive ranking the year they won the Super Bowl? I'll give you a hint -- it was #1. Rushing offense rank - #1. And how about their passing offense? It was ranked as #27. Looks to me that their #1 ranked defense and the

  3. The Colts have had their fair share of injuries the past few seasons. Many of these players were either expected to have good/great years, or contribute much more than they did, because of their season being cut short. If there was a single player on the roster right now, whom has had injuries in the past 3 seasons, that you could put imaginary 'bubble wrap' around to guarantee they don't get injured this season, who would it be? Mine = Kemoko Turay. There are many players i'd want to have a healthy season, Hilton/Campbell/Hooker/ect. But to me, I truly b

  4. I know Luck's retirement really sucked at the time he did but the disrespect he has as a player right here for a few in this forum sucks as well. I understand being mad about him retiring but to say he was over rated as a player or he didn't do what another QB did on another team is totally being narrow minded. When Luck played he was one of the best in the league. His last season was his 2nd best year of his career. The disrespect is appalling.

  5. How will the Big Ten, Pac-12, and other conferences decision to postpone or cancel their 2020 football seasons affect Chris Ballard and the front office as they continue to build the Colts for the future?

  6. I don't know... Can we put bubble wrap around the O-line for another 16 games? Both of the previous posters make very good arguments.

  7. This is me dreaming of the day when threads no longer include Luck's return or the coaches/GM's inability to recognize the greatness of Kelly. Heck, while I'm at it, let's add threads not including: * The preseason is too long * The Probowl is a joke * anything that mentions that +, Tom Brady.

  12. I think it's possible the huge potential inflow of players wanting to enlist is the reason there won't be a supplemental draft. They didn't want to decimate next year's draft with a non-essential and not televised event.

  16. I am a Watson fan but I think Luck is better regarding those 2. I can buy the other 3 being better but I would still put Luck at #2. To me Mahomes is the only one clearly better. Wilson got drafted to a team that was ready to win and was stacked on defense. So yeah he won a SB and he has had great career so far. If you notice, he hasn't won a SB since that D isn't near as great. When Lynch left, they weren't the same team either. Luck has never had a defense like the Seahawks team had in 2013 or a RB like Lynch.

  18. I know it’s way to early to talk draft but this upcoming draft will be interesting. Players sometimes bloom in their senior year. (You look at Burrow’s numbers in 2018 and they pail in comparison to last year). After watching “With the next pick”, I’m thinking Ballard and Co will be okay and may even have an advantage over teams that don’t value character. The conferences that are playing will probably be scrutinized. I’m also wondering if players that won’t be playing will find alternative ways to display their talents?

  20. We'll have less bust % thanks to the character traits our scouts show for players in the 2021 draft. Our issue will be watching the tape and trying to decide who is the best picks for us when play is limited this year. In general for the 2021 draft, there will be more "bust" picks than normal in the first round IMO, and especially in the first three rounds. A team like the Colts may use Brian Decker more than ever with the interview process, and I'm sure the senior bowl and combine is going to be a bigger factor than normal as well.

  21. Yup... situations like this typically favor the better scouting teams. And I think our staff has demonstrated that we scout better than most. So I like our chances...

  28. I think the article is just wrong. I don't see where they use the word "IF." From what I found , the only thing this new rule does is protect 4 players of a team's PS from being signed away on Tuesday through Sunday. It appears that on Mondays and Tuesdays , they CAN be poached. In addition , they have to pass through waivers as usual... That's what I've found from other articles. But like you , I haven't found anything from the league on this.

  29. The Colts scored 24, 22, 20, 7, 27 and 24 with Luck. The 7 was in the AFC Championship game with the SB on the line. We were never competitive and the highest Luck scored Vs the Pats (27) was lower than the Pats worst score Vs us (34). Again, Luck was overrated, and he quit on us. The defense was bad, but he didn't hold up his end either.

  31. It's an imaginary situation. An IF situation. Surely you can transpose times with the two QBs, I'm not asking you to picture Mahomes playing in the Bart Starr era. I'm saying if Patrick Mahomes started off.....nevermind. It doesn't matter. Lets just say Mahomes is great and as a neutral, I'm glad a young QB with superb potential got drafted by an organization that knew exactly what to do with him.

  32. The NBA is the one big sport where it can work. It can work in sports like Golf, Racing, and Tennis too with no fans.

  33. Being in a bubble in Orlando is the only reason the NBA has been playing. The MLB and the NFL can't be done like that just because of the sheer amount of people involved. I am trying to stay optimistic but till there is a legit vaccine for COVID-19 there will never be a complete season for the NFL or the MLB. As much as I love the NFL it's not worth players risking themselves and or family members just so I can get my NFL fix. Me worrying about high dollar pro players and the games they play pales in comparison to the problems this country is in. Yeah I may distracted f

  34. Baseball and basketball are trying to play. Players are testing positive fairly regularly. baseball has cancelled games several times. Players around the NFL are opting out of playing this year or at least when they get a handle on this epidemic. It's not sounding good at this point. The big ten conference in college has already cancelled their games this season. I believe if they play and all does not go well, we may not even recognize the rosters in the end.

  35. That article says IF he can be stashed without being waived... I've been looking around for something that suggests players can be signed to the practice squad without clearing waivers, but have not found anything. So I believe waivers is still the process. I wonder if I'm missing something.

  36. Raw talent? The Colts got the most highly rated QB to come out since #18. Those ratings were no mistake. Luck was the definition of perfect. His story is the definition of mismanagement.

  38. Wouldn’t it be MORE accurate to say no one is talking about Fountain? Or Patman? Aren’t those guys far more under the radar than Campbell who everybody is hoping he will live up to his draft status and raw skill set?

  39. I don't think the waiver provision has changed, which is still a big issue. I think that makes it very unlikely that Eason goes to the PS this year; it makes little sense to spend a 4th on a guy and then expose him to waivers, unless you don't think he's working out. If Eason looks at least decent in camp, I doubt they waive him. If I had to project right now, it would be Kelly that gets waived, with the intention of signing him back to the PS. (Followed by more unreasonable but totally predictable outcry from the three Chad Kelly stans on this board.) Part of this goe

  43. Nobody is laughing, I was laughing at @EastStreet Gif. Moore is a good player and very important but Darius is our best defensive player on the team.

  44. Moore missed Weeks 7, and 14-17, total of 5 games. We won two of the 5, giving up an average of 14.5 points. We certainly didn't fall apart those games. We lost vs NO, Tampa, and the last game of the season to the Jags. Of the 3: @NO - had more to do with us having ZERO offense. We punted almost every down, and only got a TD in garbage time at the end of the game. TOP was probably close to 2:1. We got burnt mid to deep a lot that game IIRC (Brees AVG wsa 10+), which wasn't something Moore would have impacted. Khari had a bad game too if memory serves. Every
