  1. Any shot at Randle? Seems like hes gonna be gone from LAL

  2. Way too premature to try to nail down projected figures, but assuming the Colts don't take on anymore salary this year, they'll have $45m+ to rollover to 2019 (assuming prorations for midseason pickups, IR slots, incentives hit, etc.). OTC projects $63m cap space going into next season (based on today's roster, which will change between now and March when the cap is set). Add this year's rollover to next year's cap space, and the Colts should be around $100m under the 2019 cap by the time the league year starts. Now if you start looking at roster mechanics, and thinking about guys like John Simon, Robert Turbin, etc., who might not even make the 2018 roster, there's potential for even more cap space next year.

  6. I really liked what I saw from Kenny Moore II last year. It seems the Colts are impressed as well. Here is the latest piece from Stampede Blue that says Moore may surprise this season: https://www.stampedeblue.com/2018/6/29/17516580/colts-cornerback-position-may-serve-up-a-surprise-in-2018

  8. He will hardly play this year the minutes will belong to Joseph and DC I'm not saying we will be bad we just did get worse with LBJ leaving we should have done more with our cap to improve and try to make the finals

  10. I'm certain that I'd rather have Lance and his passion over Doug McDermott. Lance is the only reason that second team had any teeth at all. Don't care about McDermott, he might be fine (he might not be), but Lance was Lance. Don't like the move, really at all, understanding that it's not going to make or break the team. Now that LeBron is on my most hated NBA team, it makes it quasi-easier stomach the next however many years the Warriors keep winning it. I don't really care who LeBron get's to go to LA, if it's not Durant or Curry, they're not going to beat the Warrior in 7. I think whatever Boston cooks up will have a better chance at winning it than LeBron (who won't go to the Finals again, YAY!).

  11. That's real///// The Lakers who are welcoming LBJ may not understand that a couple of them have to turn into Kevin Love and Chris Bosh who had to forget about how good they were and go stand in the corner ....LaVar will be bad mouthing the dominant player of his era.... ..and you are 1000% right... Popovich isnt even thinking about trading for Lonzo

  12. Very reasonable perspective. I do not believe in anyone that says they went to (GNC, Max Muscle, etc...) and took an OTC supplement and then tested positive, and they didn't know. If they truly didn't, it is because they wanted to be ignorant and did not care. Because the player is responsible for anything ingested, there are measures to help them stay 'clean', if they choose. First, each team physician has a list of OTC products that contain banned substances. Stay Away! Also, the NFL will test a product submitted to them. Finally, there is actually an app that lists all the products that contain substances banned for sport. http://www.nsfsport.com/

  13. So burning LBJ jerseys is back on in Cleveland?
    2 points
  14. Yeah, definitely will be interesting. That gives them 3 guys that need the ball in their hand. Makes me wonder what the intentions with Ball are? Maybe he is on the move?

  15. Yeah I agree, Celtics will still be the dominate East team but I do feel the Pacers and Sixers as well should be up there. Yeah the Raptors lol! They'll win 50+ games and take a dump in the first or second round. Now the question is who else will the Lakers get to pair with LBJ?

  16. I'm glad hes out of the east lol now we need to do something so we can win the east

  17. This time of the NFL season is often the hardest. So in between work, holiday BBQ's, etc, I've been reading a couple books, and researching some specialized web sites. I've been trying to figure out what our defense will consist of, and look like. After looking through site after site of Marinelli/Cowboys articles, stats, etc. I've pieced together an outline that might represent where we go on Defense. I'm going to present basics here, and later 9if time) I'll get more detailed in coverages/schemes. Player types- The first thing I think of for what type of Defense I believe the Colts will try to implement is hustle. Yes, speed helps much here. Yes, quickness helps a lot as well. But an instinctive, almost proactive read and burst along with a non stop motor are paramount. I can almost see instructions to the rookies and young players- "You're going to make mistakes now and then. Just make sure you're flying around the field at full tilt when you finally do." Make any mistakes going 100 mph, not flat footed. Speed, quickness, instincts, and full on desire to get to the ball from anywhere and from any position on the field. Less explosive pass plays! Colts were dead last in explosive pass plays allowed. Yes, Saints had 3 more, and we tied Patriots at 64, but they had opposing team throw it at them a lot more than Colts did. The Colts 12% EPA (explosive pass average) was 2% higher than the next worst 0f 10% (shared by 6 teams). We will likely blitz much less, and let fewer plays get 'behind us' and burn us big. Eberflus will likely employ both Cover 2 Man as well as Cover 2 Zone schemes when not in a sub package (Nickel, Dime, Big Nickel, etc...). In addition, Eberflus might do as Marinelli did at times to disguise looks. Have CB's line up in Man, while LB's set up in Zone coverage. (As FYI, CB's force WR's to the outside and trail ride him in man, but funnel the WR to the inside in Zone.) Typically, the CB tries to hide his intentions, but if He is man, and LB's are going to play zone, he might 'tip his hand' to the QB hoping he assume the LB's will also be in man and thus might lead to a turnover. Where Marinelli adpated, he mixes his coverage, a CB can play man while another can play zone. 2 LB’s can play man while the 3rd plays zone. Pick your combo. This type defense can get extremely confusing to the opposing QB. The hard part is executing it. Especially for young players. The 'Old Tampa 2' was about execution over deception, these schemes are sometimes meant to be deceptive as well. I expect these type D schemes above to often be used in Red Zone and 2 minute situations. I feel we will NOT be in a Cover 2 nearly as much as in our sub packages at other times, though. Yes, we will be a rush 4, drop back and cover with 7 type Defense, but with some man and Cover 1 or cover 3 schemes thrown in as well. I feel our SS will be asked to be in the box at times and play run support too. Our front will be one gap (shoot the gap) get up the field, and linebackers will have gap responsibility as well. Which brings me to another point, takeaways will be as paramount as pass rush pressure, IMHO. I think we will need 20 combined sacks from the DE's (even rotation wise), and a lot of pressures/hurries from DT's and DE's to make this D effective. Off topic, I am reading an excellent analytics book, by Warren Sharp. I'm not much into his betting/fantasy help, but the analysis is intriguing. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1721539034 http://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/ I'm sure it will take a while to 'read and digest' all of this, just like it did for me with Pat Kirwan's book. (Which I still go back and reference here and there) https://www.amazon.com/Take-Your-Eye-Off-Ball-ebook/dp/B015M9SQC2 Chime in here what you are doing during the black hole period of the NFL between OTA's and Training Camp.

  20. I dont think it's counting for the rollover yet. This. We should have North of $100m next year. Outside any new major contracts or extensions.

  22. I'm with you on the supplemental draft. The fact that we are showing interest in three defensive backs and also have brought in three free agent defensive backs is indicating to me that we are not completely comfortable with our current situation. We do have at least one extra pick next year so if they forfeit one pick now it is not really a big deal. I think if at least one of the three rookies passes our scrutiny then Ballard will make a bid. I can't think of a real strong reason not to as long as they feel the value is there.

  23. I admire your optimism, but I cannot realistically say we improved yet. They do have the money to make one more addition. I think we stayed about the same at most. I think some of the chemistry lost to Lance will negate the overall chemistry, although it may end up a wash.

  25. The NFL rules state a PES positive test is 4 games. Period. No wiggle room. It is either positive, or not. Domestic violence is 6 games. (Ray Rice Rule) But... can go more, or less depending upon 'mitigating circumstances'. Apparently, the investigation uncovered some issue(s), and Winston then explained his side. The NFL negotiated a lower sentence based upon all of that, and the promise from Winston not to appeal and serve it immediately. Also, further violations could result in a lifetime ban. The punishment for Substance abuse is different than PES (different policy), and marijuana different (more lenient, IE: it takes four positive or “missed” tests, which are treated the same as positive tests, to trigger a four-game suspension when the drug in question is marijuana) than other non PES substances. This is an NFL - NFLPA agreement. 28. hard to be thrilled with how things have played out. would have rather kept lance if we knew thad was coming back. the good news is lebron left, but we are only good enough to go as far as victor carries us. guess we are hoping for turner to make the leap in year 4

  29. Good point, but I think that was too long ago to negate recent years. Since that trip to the ECF the Pacers have: Missed the playoffs Lost 3-4 in the first round (Toronto) Lost 0-4 in the first round Lost 3-4 in the first round Those same 5 years the Raptors have: Lost 3-4 in the first round Lost 0-4 in the first round Lost 2-4 in the Eastern Conference Finals (so I guess they have made it more recently than the Pacers) Lost 0-4 in the second round Lost 0-4 in the second round I'm not a Raptors fan, I just think that the Pacers aren't the fans that should knock them when we haven't done as good as they have.

  30. I give PG some credit for staying with OKC. Good for him. He'll still be on a competitive team in the NBA West. The fans will love him, and he won't have to play second fiddle to LeBron. Another year of PG and Westbrook playing together should provide more stability. They just need to get rid of Carmello, who they never should have brought in.

  31. Good question... We basically swapped Lance and Joe Young for Doug McDermott and Aaron Holiday. ...I worry that we're soft..in a physical conference with Boston and Philadelphia We need somebody like Marcus Smart Meanwhile..on to the summer league

  32. I do not understand what Paul George did. He told us he left here because he wanted to play in LA and he wanted to win, right? OKC ..was out in the first round and the Lakers got LeBron...OKC is stuck with Carmelo so they cant add anything but low-cash boys. He knew that. So he still wants to say in OKC where they were the 5th seed...The Pacers were the 5th seed So maybe he just didnt like our management.? Fine With LeBron, the Lakers were at least the 3rd best team in the west... Lance was going to the Lakers. PG still stays in OKC. I'm confused. In 3 or 4 years, LeBron will be retired and he can go to L.A.? Unless he is just very, very comfortable in Russell Westbrooks shadow...and doesnt need to ever get to the finals If that's it, more power to him...

  33. Makes one wonder if LeBron didn't want PG to go there. Because you know PG wanted too probably pretty badly.

  35. Predictions: 1.) Kyle Korver and JJ Reddick will be traded to the Lakers 2.) ESPN and TNT will cover a total of 'zero' Cavaliers games next year 3.) The 2019 NBA finals will match Houston and Boston 4.) Lance Stephenson will sign a free agent contract in the summer of 2019 to return to the Indiana Pacers

  37. His measurables indicate the perfect slot corner. Plus as a former FS/CB at Valdosta State he is used to playing in space. His speed, and his 3-Cone drill indicates he has the hips and flexibility to change direction quickly. I believe Hairston will be on the outside as a boundary corner and Moore ends up in the slot. Desir ends up as the depth on the outside and someone like D.J. White, one of the UDFA's or a waiver wire pickup adds more depth....

  38. East will definitely be the Celtics, Pacers and Sixers to lose. Maybe Toronto but its hard to take them serious until they win something.
    1 point
  39. Yeah I heard about that, even though were plenty of entertaining times in the playoffs Pacers vs Heat/Cavs, ect I'm glad to get him out of the East. That being said, man the West is much more competitive. Rockets, Warriors, ect will still be hard teams for him to get past. On the other hand Pacers should be in contention for the East next year if they continue to progress.
