Sanchez also had the 6th fewest kickoff return yards allowed (441 - Minimum 50 Kickoffs) and tied for 11th for Touchbacks (46). Not a bad rookie season for the successor of McAfee.

  2. Awesome post & you bring up an interesting point. It may just be me, but I've always found it interesting that throughout history some teams have just developed an "identity"... If you think of the Bears or Steelers you generally think strong defenses, etc. Has anyone ever considered how the Indy Colts have had a fairly consistent run of kicker/punter combos & that it has almost become part of the teams identity? Biasucci & Stark Vanderjagt & Smith Vinateri & MacAffee Anyways just a crazy thought. I know some fans aren't big on the kicking c

  6. I found a 2012 article on Robert Turbin. Pretty impressive human being to start with. Maybe in these 6 years he’s lost a step but along with Mack and Hines, could provide a dynamic running back committee. Here’s the link (in the middle of the story, there may be blank pages, but keep scrolling down for the end of article). https://www.fieldgulls.com/2012/5/15/3015704/2012-seahawks-seattle-robert-turbin-draft

  8. This was a big topic on Ross Tucker's show on NFL Radio this AM. Specifically about how foolish it was to give up a top 80 pick for a guy 1) in the last year of his contract and 2) with his history of questionable decision making.

  9. Really good shout. A few people mentioning Mack being overlooked but Turbin falls into that category more than Mack for me and he seems to be liked by the coaching staff and getting most of the reps:

  11. That's the problem with these type of lists, there are always good players left off.

  12. The Bats were like that last year too. One game we score 8 Runs, then the next 0. Doesn't make much sense. Tough to watch the Cubs at times because you don't know what team will show up?

  14. i hadn't seen the nice write up of snippets from a listening session nor did i see anything in writing that said a college ball, all i had read was about a high school ball in a few places and thought it was new as was listed under by CBS a topic luck finally throwing if one clicks on link it says under title Luck was throwing a high school football at Colts minicamp on Tuesday However the listening session included in article does mention a smaller college ball so me bad for not listening the listening session also notes as i guessed & wrote he is

  17. (Nelson, of course, has been everything the Colts have hoped of a first-round pick. "You can see the instincts," Reich said. "One of the things on tape everybody said was this guy was the best pulling guard (prospect) ever. You can see that – man, it just shows up all over the tape. He’s had a couple of vets, like (Matt) Slauson, really take him under the wing a little bit. There is a process of learning. I think he’s had one or two a-ha moments. I remember seeing him on a double-team, I don’t know if it was Grover (Stewart) or Al Woods he was trying to move, and he wasn’t moving. I bet he’s n

  18. I can see 9-7 if he's healthy. I don't think that's far fetched. Maybe even 10-6 tops but more likely the latter.

  19. Also interesting to think what Ballard/Reich would say they want the identity to be going forward. Based on acquisitions and drafting would likely be something like "Young and Fast". Seems every position is predicated on speed and don't think we have a single position group that you wouldn't describe as having most of their career ahead.

  20. Nelson should be amazing. Hooker was just starting an amazing year with 3 early INT's before his injury. If he plays, he should be a gamechanger for us. Just have to hope as many of these players hit as possible from the draft. It's been rough the 5 years with Grigson draft-wise, and we desperately need some talent on this team.

  21. "There goes Ed Dodds, the best Assistant General Manager there ever was in this game."

  22. Yep and hopefully Hooker will be ready to go too. I think Nelson will pan out, love that pick.

  23. Yeah, it helps that something went in our direction. Hopefully Luck and everyone else that was banged up will now be ready for training camp, and we can put our new plan into place. This team has a lot of potential with the new additions from the draft. Preseason will be especially fun when everyone gets a shot.

  24. I cant Post either while using IE. That is all I have used in the 3 years I have been here. What was happening to you was happening to me, it started Sunday. Download Chrome if you have a laptop and you wont have that problem. It only takes a couple of minutes. After I downloaded Chrome on Sunday I haven't had any problems. Chrome is faster as well.

  25. To break that narrative I could make a huge case for Eric Dickerson being on this list. Reasons: 1. He was the 1st bigtime impact player that the Indianapolis Colts acquired which was in 1987. We were a joke and the laugh of the league when we moved to Indy in 1984 from Baltimore. From 1984-1986, we stunk. In 1986 we went 3-13 but when we got Dickerson in a trade he turned our whole franchise around. In 1987 we went 9-6 and won the AFC East and the Pats and Dolphins both were Good back then. Teams had to finally take us serious when we got him. He put us on the map here in Indy. Before we

  26. The Cubs bats are so streaky. How they get so quiet baffles me. Who knows...keeps up like this maybe they do make a trade deadline move. Hard to imagine.

  28. It won’t let me quote or type anything. When I try to use the like icon it only likes I cant choose from the other options. Perhaps it’s the result of a firmware upgrade at work. Never had the problem before. Now I can only respond from my phone. Just wondering. Says I’m logged in but almost seems like I’m not. I’ll give it more time.

  29. How about Robert Turbin? Known to make tough yards. Innovative play calling could put him in situations that create mismatches or just decoy him for bigger gains.

  33. That’s why Jabaal Sheard had an elite rating last year (91.3) he doesn’t have a ton of sacks like the big names, but he’s great in applying pressure and setting the edge.

  38. Love how Ebron is doing. He seems to be motivated, and that's a great thing when you have the talent. When Luck comes back and plays with him, he should be even more dangerous. Ebron could be the best FA pickup of the year in the entire NFL if his play matches his drive so far in OTA's and minicamp. Nice job Ballard!

  39. I know it's fun and easy to bash Grigson but before he became a GM he was a very good scout and director of scouting, he just was not ready for the GM role.

  40. I think you have the schedule slightly off... What I read and heard is... throw on Mon/Tue/Wed... take Thursday off and then throw Friday. And that's it for the week. Mon-Wed equals the Wed-Fri of a normal week. And the Friday equals the Sunday. So.... throw 4 days a week... rest 3 days a week. Just like a normal NFL week during the season. That was my takeaway.

  41. He can't negotiate the amount of money. I wouldn't consider it a big deal at this point. I'd get worried if they arn't signed by training camp. Also the term holding out I don't think applies here. A player who is holding out doesn't participate in OTA's, Minicamp, training camp or games because of a contract dispute. Maybe there is a dispute over contract terms going on here but if that is the case then that dispute hasn't thus far led to either one not participating in team activities.

  43. I thought a Colt was part of the equine family not the rooster family but if the Colts want to change their rooster who am I to argue? But to the list: 1. Every team would like a starting quality back-up QB. The problem is finding a starting quality QB to start and then to find one as a back-up and then to find one that is ok being in the back-up role. 2. I'm a big fan of drafting oline early. But the Colts should be done with that now. 3. I don't know if I quite understand this and I can't watch the video. Are they saying that safeties provide the same impact
