What could POSSIBLY go wrong.... Couldn't happen to a better team, they're buying a fairy tale in my humble opinion. It's easy to sound "all wise" when it's just talk. Throw in real life with its injuries, arrests (we ARE TALKING about Raiders) and an out of control locker room. 3 years in I bet they have massive regrets.4 points

Thank goodness someone hired him, now lets hope the same can happen for Josh McDaniels before we make an offer...........2 points

Sources in Chicago (Chicago Tribune) say Cubs just offered Jake Arrieta 110 Mill over 4 years. Jake will probably take it as he said he never wanted leave per sources close to the team. Man I hope this happens.2 points

I still have that damn Barry Manilow song in my head thanks to UncleMark from the Basketball Thread. Freakin Barry of all people!2 points

Holy moly! The Raiders are truly insane! Why does Gruden have this type of reputation? I really don't get it.2 points

What a stupid contract. I certainly hope that type of contract doesn't become popular in the NFL. I like Gruden btw, but if he is doing bad, I imagine this contract would make it nearly impossible to fire him. Terrible. He better win a Super Bowl or 2 for that deal.1 point

Shurmur is intriguing but so is Jim Bob Cooter....just not sure we as Hoosiers could live down Jim Bob's name.......Wilks is interesting to me as well. I am not interested in McDaniels, he mucked things up in quick order in Denver....maybe he is more polished (see crack made in another thread) but I don't want to be the litmus test for that theory.1 point

Have a great time and stay warm! Good luck to the Pacers and hopefully they get back on track soon with these games.1 point

I think olduncle is just sick of the Celtics love feast at times this year and he himself even gets caught staring into Brad's sparkling eyes. And it also don't help the Pacers blew the game vs. the Celtics not long ago. I mean what was that? Don't worry, I might calm down a tiny bit on the Celtics thing.....maybe........ But the Pacers need to get an actual win again too for them to be more exciting to talk about again. And I don't love how the Pacers upcoming schedule looks but they NEED a win.......any win........1 point

Saw the Celtics tonight and watched them carry Brad Stevens to a win. J/K Most of you probably don't watch them unless maybe it's vs. the Pacers or on primetime. Tonight against the Timberwolves at home was a typical Celtics game. Basically a nasty suffocating defensive game but a shaky offensive game when the shots won't go in. I should call them the Chicago Timberwolves though.......lmao Basically if you love defense in basketball, the Celtics are your team this year. 8 games out of 10 they often play great defense with a few sometimes being a slip up. I have never been a fan of his. I agree with Stitches. I just don't get what people see in him. All he is is this rah rah guy who craves attention and talks too much.1 point

So, I was having a little fun again today on Fanspeak's site and came up with this draft. Now, I would have rather traded back in the 1st round, possibly the 2nd as well given the options available at the time. In the 1st round, both Darnold and Rosen were available, so I definitely would have traded back to get more picks, but FS doesn't allow that. So rip away. 3: R1P3 EDGE BRADLEY CHUBB - got him for obvious reasons NC STATE 36: R2P4 EDGE ARDEN KEY - couldn't believe he was still available, the chance to have pass rushers from both sides wa1 point

the only way to make Mel's Kiper's hair go completely gray then fall-out is to win and win more, as long as that happens, I'll be happy.1 point

You've got to be kidding me. I get it, winning says A LOT, but looking at the quality of players he had at Butler and at Boston beyond this year, he's been way overachieving. They should have beat Duke had they hit their free-throws and there is no reason that Boston team should have won 50+ games 2 years ago. That says a TON about him, especially now that he has a comparable top NBA roster, and he's missing one of his best players. Immediately after Heyward went down, everyone's reaction was "there goes Boston's chance", but they haven't missed a beat really. If you can't see what the guy has1 point

OMG....you sound just like my wife. I'm like "Did you just see that play he drew up in the time out!!" "Brillent!!!".....my wife.....he has the prettiest eyes....he's sooo cuteee! lol The nerd thing I don't understand because he was a great Indiana High School basketball player..I'm sure most on this board remember him if they follow ISHAA at all. He even followed it up with a pretty good college career. Here is a snippet from his wiki page. His basketball success is NO FLUKE...yes everyone talks about how he quit at Eli Lilly to be an assistant coach and think he just somehow is t1 point

I need to see how IT changes the dynamics of the team. He is one guy that can definitely spark a team. They also have that Brooklyn pick so they could use that to go out and get Paul George or another difference maker if they saw the wheels coming off. If I'm them I don't trade it because they have to get younger sometime but who knows what Lebron forces them into doing. There will always be a guy waived or bought out that will come as well so a lot will change from now til then...but for sure the Celtics are dynamic.1 point

I consider him a great coach by what he has accomplished in college and pros. He led a mid major to the ncaa championship back to back years. Where he coached at makes no difference. What if its because of his dreamy blue eyes?? The guy has been successful everywhere he has been and overachieved....he is well on his way to winning a championship at some point. He took a lottery team in Boston to the playoffs and has gone further every year. I'm not talking all-time great coaches here....but the guy has been a success at every stop along the way...even his playing career. He knows the game...kn1 point

Dave Toub is going to be the Colts next HC. Mark my words.1 point

Every head coach in the league started out as coach. It really don't matter what kind of coach as long as he can get players to follow what all of the coordinators and assistant coaches have to teach and instruct their players. A good head coach can be found anywhere as long as you find the right person.1 point

I know this is driven by petty hate for the patriots but i can't stand the thought of it being McDaniels.1 point

I’m very intrigued by Kris Richard, but we need an offense minded HC. Or at least I want one. I think I’ll go with Matt Nagy, I fear McDaniels will wear his welcome out but that is just hear-say to be honest. A lot of these guys are very intriguing. Not a bad time to go HC shopping!1 point

I like Toub. He isn't as glitzy an option because he's a ST coach. But he just seems to have the "it" factor. He most strikes me as the kind of coach who can build a lasting program of success. I think hes he's the biggest risk vs. reward candidate. I think he has the right kind of leadership to be special.1 point

The more I read about Toub the more sold I am on him. He had 7 of the top 10 special teams seasons in the history of the league and he's done it in 3 different teams. Now this doesn't necessarily make him a good head coach, but this type of consistently great performances by the teams he's been tasked with coaching points to an incredibly good ability to coach and teach, relay and impart information into his players, make them execute with high end level attention to detail. This is pretty much the opposite of what Pagano was doing IMO. He will need to get good coordinators too, but I no longe1 point
