  2. Before I get into the GB&U.... I'm going to start with "The Silly" The Silly -If you didn't expect an ugly game travelling to Soldier Field, you might be silly. -All the stuff about Rivers from some of you is just silly. Did he look great today? No. But he did however have the highest QBR and Passer Rating than any QB that has faced the Bears so far this year. And Rivers did it on the road in Soldier Field. An 82.5 QBR for comparison sake, would be 5th best vs the league average right now. Calm down, have a chaser of context with your beers lol.

  5. I swear that looked almost identical to Marlon Jackson in the AFC Championship. I could almost hear the Bob Lamey voice saying. "Brady throws and its intercepted by Marlon Jackson. Colts win. Colts win!" "Were going to the Super Bowl!" LOL

  10. I think it’s some them and some the Colts are very stubborn and predictable with their play calling. They telegraph when they are going to run and rarely run play action in obvious running plays to catch the other team off guard and even if the other defense stacking the box and keying on the run they still try to run it right now down the middle. I also think Taylor and most definitely Hines and Wilkins are not as good at seeing holes as Mack was. Also, the use of the use of the running backs has been odd outside of Vikings games. Today Hines and Wilkins got 18 carries

  12. Say what you will about Rivers’ shortcomings and how it has impacted the O. IMO, Reich is the biggest culprit for the offensive problems. I personally believe that the play calling for the Colts has absolutely stunk. Especially in the red zone. But also because they are so predictable. I’m sure there are many who will disagree. But the main reason for the Colts’ offensive issues is the man calling the plays. He HAS to open things up. Pass the ball more. Be far less predictable. This “run the damn ball” mantra works if the pass game is clicking. So change things up to help the run game be

  17. Man, we ain't building rockets here. The concept is simple - if you put a barrier between the outlets that produce the droplets that carry the virus, it reduces the transmission. It is not full proof but significantly reduces spread. Arguing otherwise seems kind of clueless. In other words, masks do in fact do jack squat.

  19. The Inconsistent Eleven? Blue Charmin? Everyone's already forgetting we made Minshew look like a surgeon. We've played 3 bottom ten OLs, and today one without two starting tackles, and 3 starting WRs. NYJ's offense is ranked 32nd, and MN's is 30th. And we play a bad O next week (Chicago is 23rd) too... lol. Jax is 22nd. When our D plays well vs a decent team, I'll start thinking about nicknames. The Browns and Ravens are the first top 20 offenses we'll play this year.

  20. It’s really cool to see all of this behind the scenes stuff. Patmon and Pittman seem to have a very good relationship. Also noticed he hangs out with Eason which is a good thing to see. Eason needs to show he is developing a good locker room relationship with the guys.

  23. I usually stay away after a loss because of knee jerk reactions versus the overwhelming praise after a win. I saw 4 highly contested balls that stayed in the Browns receivers hands to extend drives. 2 excellent escapes by Mayfield to extend drives. 3 forgettable throws by Rivers. Outside of that the Colts played a solid game all around versus a potent offensive team. Any given Sunday has always been the mantra, correct? The Browns had their Sunday with those 4 catches alone...... The Colts defense was the same all game lo

  29. I don’t call guys undone by injuries busts. To me a bust is a player that shows that from a skill standpoint he doesn’t measure up. I think Hooker measures up skill-wise, but he has been undone by injuries. It’s a shame because he could’ve been really good. :(

  30. Lamar got a few snaps here and there, even threw four passes in the opener. But they had him in on option packages, and Eason is not an option QB. Lamar took over as the starter in November, when Flacco got hurt. I'm not that interested in rushing to see Eason. I'd like to have a better idea of what he can do before the season is over, especially if Rivers can't get it going pretty quickly here; we need to know what we have. But we don't need to rush it, especially when he's mostly a one dimensional player. Also, while Rivers has been underwhelming and frustrating with

  32. Please don't make me watch Jacoby Brissett play again. I'd rather see Rivers throw 5 picks a game than fall asleep watching Brissett dink and dunk his way to an 8-8 record and an uneventful 16th overall pick.

  33. Apologies, but that came to me last night as I watched clips of more of Hot Rod's kicks clanking off the posts. What is that, about 4 already this year? OK, OK, I know, there have been far better nicknames than that. And I'm sure he doesn't want it, either. But it seemed to fit, at least so far.

  36. Yes, new to the Colts the day Philip signed. And enjoying every minute of it. Not only watching him with a vastly better team around him, but my time on this board, as well. It's been a lot of fun. I actually am not a lifelong Chargers fan - only since Philip was drafted there. As I've said here before, we lived in Athens, AL during the time Philip played his high school ball there, so I've watched him play since then (well, every N.C. State game that was shown in Athens during his college years, that is, which was usually only 3 or 4 each season). We've since moved from there (bee

  38. As you all know by now, I've been following this team just since Philip was signed a few months ago, and I have to say, this is as fun a team to watch and follow as any I can remember in a long, long time. And not just because of grandma above, but everything I've read, seen and heard has already brought me tons of smiles and laughs. Sure, coming off of wasting a decade and a half of my life on the "Keystone Bolts" plays a part in that, but still, there's a genuinely fun element to this team. Irsay, Ballard, Reich and the rest of them aren't kidding when they talk about making sure they bring

  41. Good Game plan - both sides of the ball. Why did we not do the same thing vs Jax. Holy cow. Taylor - after a lackluster week 1, looked great with 100+. Would love to see his AVG increase and some break aways, but loved what I saw in his first start. Rivers - not big numbers, but very efficient and great bounce back game. The INT was not on him. Pittman - Not a ton of yards, but 4/6 and seemed to be gaining confidence. MAC - what a breakout game for him. Inherited the #1 TE role and put up 100+. Hands looked great doing it except for.... 42. Thanks again for all your participation in this week's Colts Mailbag, which you can find by clicking here. Lots of questions this week about the defensive side of the ball, particularly the coverage schemes being utilized by defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. I think you'll find there were attempts to make adjustments against the Jaguars, the execution and communication just wasn't all there. Definitely fixable moving forward. Also, I think there's a hang-up about how many times Philip Rivers threw the ball in Week 1. Granted it's only one game, but there were so many short passes that
