  6. You're more than welcome. Not so bad. I keep a sticky note that I just update, then paste. I think Blackmon can turn it around in coverage. Most of his errors are IMO are maybe best described as lack of discipline. The missed tackles though are just as concerning if not more, and he's been considered a big hitter. He has 5 so far, and only had 7 the whole year in 2020. I think teams are picking on him a bit now that they have film. But we've had several guys picked on this year too. I love Khari in the box. He's just not very good outside of it. C2 against speed WRs just won't turn out good for us. I blame coverage calls as much as I blame Khari. We just shouldn't put him those positions. But I agree, we'd be much better off, and more flexible, with a better coverage FS. I was hoping Blackmon would look improved this year, but he's regressed a bit.... So I'm back to my original "he should be a SS" opinion.

  7. This is a message board. Almost everyone on here posts their opinion. Unless we are inside the organization no one can know. So everyone’s posts on this board is their opinion of what is going on. Can I ask you why you have to be snarky all the time and rude? Quit taking everything so personal and serious.

  8. That cat made a leap. Not sure one of Ballard's pass rushers ever will.

  9. Very compelling. We're just so bland and predictable, it's really hard to make an argument to the contrary. Frank does pretty well scripting plays to start the game, but he simply lacks in-game feel, and is completely stubborn at times in the RZ. I'm fine with him being part of the scripting for the first couple of series, and overall strategy, but I just don't want him calling plays anymore. He's never ever been known as a play calling genius. He called plays in LAC, and that team had the worst balance in the league (and he was let go). He didn't call plays in Philly, and has a very predictable/stubborn track record here. He's not always horrible, but he's not often great either outside of some scripts. And he goes way conservative in the RZ and way conservative too early in games. And just to be clear, I'm not saying we have to be an air raid type of offense. Not at all. Just a better mix, and a better feel for in-game situations and adjustments.

  11. It's interesting how bent out of shape some people get about us not having a top notch back-up QB, when most teams don't. Most teams have guys that have been around the league for a long time, but were never able to do anything of note (whether as a starter or not). You have guys like Chad Henne, Colt McCoy, Mike Glennon, and AJ McCarron. If any of them have to come in and play meaningful snaps, they're not putting the team on their back and winning the game for you. They may be able to play the role of game manager and not mess up too bad, but that's the general reality of back-up QB's. Fitzpatrick and Brissett are the exception, not the expectation.

  13. dude watch tape of Hines Sproles and Taylor. I think you’d see different. Sproles looks just like Taylor imo. Sproles was a big 5 6 lol, and looks loke taylor in the legs and bootay. Sproles played at 195 not 185. I mean too each his own but I think Sproles looks just like him on film,

  14. I love when you do these. Hope people realize how much effort goes into a quality post like this. Gracias, my friend. Thoughts: Blackmon’s coverage this year has been really concerning. If this team had just one more coverage safety, then Willis would be the perfect extra linebacker/Rover type. He’s so good when you put him in the box, and he’s an excellent blitzer. I know that Hicks has advocated for the same, and I 100% agree with what he sees there.

  16. First of all let's clear something up: Parris Campbell was not a bad selection. It is unfortunate that the man struggles to stay healthy. Why don't you go ahead and take a coin out of your pocket and flip it 50 times. There will be long strings of heads, and long strings of tails occasionally. (meaning it isn't always 50/50) ... Well why is that relevant? Events tend to happen in clusters, and it is not Ballards, nor Paris' fault that he has been injury prone. Secondly: How many QBs get picked in RDs 1-2 that end up contributing nothing? How many QBs have been drafted in the first round that never saw another contract? Got benched for someone else? You guys parading around beating on all of Ballards "bad picks". Was it really a bad pick? Or did it turn out how they might've predicted. You think they didn't account for the chance that Eason might not make it? Also we don't know what goes on with Eason when he isn't at the facility. Is he studying? Is he commited? Does he have pride issues? None of these things are know. So let's go ahead and stop pretending like we know what we are talking about. The highest paid people in the world can barely succeed at it. I get it though, the Colts forum here is full of hundresed of arm chair GMs that swear they know what the best deicison is. Most people can't decide what to eat for dinner, and you think you could have done better? Also, is anyone forgetting all the covid restrcitions that were placed on scouts and GMs when evaluating the last couple years prospects? Get real.

  20. The frank hate is way over the top frank had Andrew luck having his best year and cutting back on picks . He revived rivers career after he looked washed up . Frank even had jacoby at 14 touchdowns to 3 picks before he got hurt . Now he is reviving Carson wentz’s career . The only real issue I have with him is situational awareness ,sometimes being to conservative or to aggressive. He needs a better balance which is easy to fix .

  21. After he ran the ball in to the endzone he screamed at the Chicago fans several times "I own you!" The first chant was bleeped then he repeated himself twice more after that. Granted he is 22-5 against the Bears but he needs to purchase some class.

  28. Taylor is exactly the same guy he was in Wiscy, but now he's asked to catch balls too. And doing a good job at it. He can move piles, just not super stacked boxes, which happens most of our downs inside the 10, because we go tight formation, and are overly predictable in our play calling. Spread things out, and be more diverse, and Taylor will have more success.

  31. Both Ehlinger and Kelly were baller type QBs, but Kelly easily had more arm talent. I don't think Kelly was some superstar, but we'd have been better off keeping him (if he was behaving), and keeping our two draft picks. Probably would have been better off keeping Hoyer on the cheap lol.

  34. It was weird that Taylor didn't get the ball on the first series (four plays, not mind boggling, but still raised an eyebrow), and then Hines got the first touch on the second series. Then Taylor got the ball or targeted three times in a row. Then they scored a 51 yard TD. The Colts were pushing the ball down the field, which is something we've all been hoping to see. Instead of trying to run to set up the pass, they actually passed to set up the run. We should be welcoming Reich to 2021, this was a modern game plan, and it worked. Penalties and bad protection are what caused the offense issues in the first half. After multiple chunk pass plays, they got multiple nice runs in the second half. They ran 48 total offensive plays, and 24 were called run plays (plus two Wentz scrambles). If they hadn't hit big plays so often, they probably would have had the ball for another 12-15 snaps, and JT would have had 20+ touches. Hines had 5 touches, Mack had 5 touches. That's reasonable, and probably less than what the game plan called for.

  37. Way to shift the goal posts and condescend when you do it too. Since your angle on this board is to show us all how much smarter you are...here's a chance to prove it. The statement was "Paris Campbell is a bust" and you said he's not. Please, come down from the mountaintop and learn us... 1. He's played in 14 games of a possible 38. BUST. 2. He averages 25 yards per game in the games he's played. BUST. 3. Factor in opportunity cost and he's worth 20 yards a game and 1 TD every 19 games. BUST. 4. He has 2 TD's in 3 seasons as a #1 or #2 WR. BUST. Here's one more little tidbit for you to chew on. You know how guys like to trash players around here for hype but not proving anything? Sometimes posters make statements like "hes been great in training camp" or "I actually read stories about players" but they dont back it up with anything substantial - you know what I mean? Darick Rogers played in 5 games - FIVE and he has as many TDs and 35% of the total yards as Campbell does IN HIS CAREER. Therefore, Darick Rogers is arguably the best WR this team has ever had....because, you know, I actually read a story about it where Bill Belicheck, Peyton Manning and Vince Lombardi said it.

  38. Old guy wisdom here.... At any time, the team you follow is either moving up, moving down, or stagnant. Wins are great, but I would rather have the team losing but on the way up, than winning but on the way down. One view is the now moment, the other is the future moment. In my view, the Colt are on their way up. They are young, with a bright future. I am actually loving the way this high character/effort group that CB has assembled is fighting through this. It is something to be proud of as a fan. The wins will come. But as always, enjoy/hate/be depressed(or whatever you might feel) over the current moments as you will. It is each, of our choice to make. Only you can allow circumstance to dictate your own level of enjoyment.

  39. Oh, for crying out loud. If we ground and pound Taylor for Time of Possession, they complain we don't do chunk plays. If we throw three times for over 50 yards each, they complain we don't use Taylor enough. If Hines gets 11 carries last week and 9 carries this week, they complain he's getting so few carries less than last week. If we choose to do this, they complain we didn't do that. If we choose to do that, they complain we didn't do this. No matter what we do, they find something to complain about. Guess what? We won 31-3. Our offense looked GREAT! Let's not nit pick every little thing.
