  6. Are you trying to play victim before the thread even gets started? Baffling thread... What? Did you watch the SB? Besides a few splash plays like that bomb from Mahomes to Hill, that was a RBs game. NFCCG? SF RBs won that game. How did the Titans go into Foxborough and beat NE? RBs. RBs are definitely important in todays' NFL.

  8. Before I get into the GB&U.... I'm going to start with "The Silly" The Silly -If you didn't expect an ugly game travelling to Soldier Field, you might be silly. -All the stuff about Rivers from some of you is just silly. Did he look great today? No. But he did however have the highest QBR and Passer Rating than any QB that has faced the Bears so far this year. And Rivers did it on the road in Soldier Field. An 82.5 QBR for comparison sake, would be 5th best vs the league average right now. Calm down, have a chaser of context with your beers lol.

  17. I swear that looked almost identical to Marlon Jackson in the AFC Championship. I could almost hear the Bob Lamey voice saying. "Brady throws and its intercepted by Marlon Jackson. Colts win. Colts win!" "Were going to the Super Bowl!" LOL

  22. OT - Re-signed Anthony Castonzo. QB - Signed Philip Rivers. DT - Traded for DeForest Buckner and signed Sheldon Day. CB - Signed Xavier Rhodes and TJ Carrie. TE - Signed Trey Burton FB - Signed Roosevelt Nix Drafts Michael Pittman at WR and Jonathan Taylor at RB. Ballard has done a good job so far. He found answers for the biggest question marks, addressed the biggest weaknesses on the team, and drafted guys that can contribute right away.

  23. Finally an all pro difference maker at DT and only 25 yrs old. What's not to like? Or take a chance on a rookie with the 13th pick who has yet to play a down in the NFL. I'll take Buckner. Expecting a QB signing now.

  24. Couple thoughts on this: 1. This clearly signals that Colts will sign Phillip Rivers and/or draft a QB at 34. 2. Buckner was named an All-Pro last year at DT. He's a great player and still relatively young at 25.

  28. I watched alot of clips on Phillip Rivers over the years, both on the field and off. Personally, I resonate with his leadership style and personality. In my opinion he will represent the "horseshoe" super well. He is REAL, meaning that he shows his emotion and is an expressive, entertaining character. He is honest and no nonsense. Bottomline, he is very comfortable in his skin. He knows his football and will be a fantastic coach when he decides to leave football. I am rooting for him 1000%.

  30. Just some historical perspective as to whom we have under center right now...... Essentially broke all SEC Records set by Peyton Manning before graduating as a senior.... Drafted in 2004, threw approximately 20 passes in 2004 and 2005 as he sat behind......Drew Brees. So in year 15 as a starter, with an AVERAGE year he will move into the top 5 (historically) in yardage and touchdowns.....trailing only the likes of Brees, Manning, Brady and Favre but passing by Marino in both categories. Not bad for playing for some awful crappy and some awful con

  31. After reading this article, I am even more excited to have Buckner. I loved the acquisition, but after hearing Bosa talk about all the things Buckner did for that SF line, I just had to smile. He was their D-Line play caller, and the guy who gave they pregame hype speeches. What an addition to the team! Buckner will become one of the instant emotional leaders on this team. Reads very much like he is the Quentin Nelson of the Defensive Line with his play. Quick read, and well worth it! http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001112951/article/nick-bosa-says-49ers-d-has-to-step-up-witho

  32. It’s pretty clear the Ballard regime puts a heavy emphasis on leadership and football character. About 75% of the Colts draft picks over the last two years were team captains. With that in mind, here’s a list of 2020 draft prospects that are also team captains that I thought might be worth sharing. A couple of quick points: in addition to captaincy (C), I’ve also noted Senior Bowl players (SB), the position-adjusted SPARQ percentile of players that worked out at the combine, and arm length for positions that the Colts probably have a threshold for (OL, DL, and CB). I left out prob

  35. Feels like Christmas Eve.... Twas the night before kickoff, when all through the bubble, Not a player was clubbing, not one bit of trouble. The new visors were hung, buy the lockers with care, In hopes that Covid, would not pass through the air. The players were nestled, all quarantined in their beds, While visions of a road victory, danced in their heads. Still watching college football, with wine in the glass, I'm thinking of Rivers, making his first deep scoring pass. My stomach is growling, it's time for a snack,

  36. “I can’t sit here and remain silent, because that’s exactly what we’ve done every time our black community screams and yells for help,” Ballard said. "We have to end social injustice and racial inequality. We have to end the police violence against our black communities. Black lives matter. I don’t understand why that’s so freaking hard for the white community to say. Black lives matter.” https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2020/06/04/colts-gm-chris-ballard-admits-hes-been-ignorant-racism-black-lives-matter/3143666001/ https://www.indystar.com/videos/sports/nfl/col

  37. Not everyone here is on board with this this viewpoint of what Ballard has done. But the team Ballard inherited was mostly staffed by players who were not all that talented, or all that skilled, or athletic, or quick or fast. This was a complete re-build. And 4-5 years from now, I suspect many of the faces we're looking at will be long gone too. Ballard is going to continuously turn over the roster. Churn the roster. Always looking to upgrade. Get younger, faster, more skilled --- everywhere. It's going to be fascinating to watch.....

  39. Who is Kent Sterling and why should we care what he says? Never heard of him. Was it racism that caused the Colts to trade for JB? Was it racism that caused the Colts to publicly call Brissett a top-20 QB? Was it racism that had Ballard say he wouldn’t trade Brissett unless he was overwhelmed by an offer? Was it racism that made Ballard say JB has ELITE leadership skills? Was it racism that had Ballard make Brissett the starter after Luck retired? We could have traded for someone. Was it racism that drove Ballard to g

I feel you have done much to bring me happiness thru a great product you have put together. It would break my heart if you got this virus and suffered, or worse. I consider you a friend even tho i never met you and this team and i , for that matter, need you leading this ship. Caringly, A devoted fan.

  43. Rivers said the oline was an important factor in his choice to play here.....which Ballard made a priority and in one year turned it into a championship caliber line. I saw this little nugget the other day and it kinda drummed up some thoughts about how our oline was constructed and some other tidbits. Perhaps because he played in the MAC nobody cared, but, he played well in his all-star game, blew up the combine and was rated as the 2nd best tackle in the country last year. 2 years removed from being a TE.... Pinter was rated a 91.2 Quenti

  44. What people aren't talking about that I think should be mentioned more is that Day and our new prize defender Deforest Buckner played (and even started some) side-by-side last year with SF. These two already know each other's games, and that should really help them both with consistency and comfort on defense! Great add!!

  45. Last year was an anomaly year for Philip. I have watched every game he's played for our team and though I love him as a player I try to watch with a very clear eye. 1. This year was a freaky year for the Chargers. We had terrible injuries to the O-Line (that wasn't exactly top rated to begin with). I believe we had 20+ different configurations. The last bad interception year Philip had the O-line injuries were even worse. His biggest fault is trying to put the whole team on his back and make it happen. I'm guessing, but something like 6 interceptions were in the last few

  46. Meanwhile .... “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released their estimates for the influenza season from October 1, 2019 and February 29, 2020. During that period, an estimated 34 to 49 million people have been sickened with the flu, with 350,000 to 620,000 hospitalized. The estimated deaths from the flu is between 20,000 and 52,000 people.” The panic over corona is relatively just so out of hand.
