He's kept it updated elsewhere-

Taking into account new verified information, the revised cap numbers I have are:

Updated after the draft

Updated thus far after signing UDFAs

Updated after signing Ballard, Brazill, Fugger, and Harnish

Updated after Holmes cut and Andre Smith signing

Updated after Eldridge cut and Legree signing

(All $ in millions)

Currently, the roster (assuming the team signs all of its draftees) has 90 players on it, that account for $97.45 against the 2012 cap

The dead cap space for 2012 is $36.26 (yes, it grew because of Eldridge has some dead cap space).

The team salary cap as dictated by the NFL for 2012 is $120.6.

Add in the carry over from 2011 of $2.5

Add in the cap reward (or penalty against the Cowboys and Redskins) of $1.6

Total team cap for Colts in 2012 is $124.7.

Assumption for drafted rookies

Andrew Luck @ 1% increase of Cam Newton's contract will hit the 2012 cap at $4.0

Aggregate 2012 amortized cap signing bonuses associated with all picks after Luck estimated at $0.64

Remaining 9 draftees at league rookie minimum of $0.39 each = $3.51

Assumption for undrafted free agent rookies

19 @ league minimum of $0.39 will hit the 2012 cap at $7.41

Cap calculation methods:

1) From beginning of LY to first day of regular season: top 51 contracts plus certain elements of remaining contracts on roster.

2) From first day of regular season to end of LY: All roster contracts.

1) Cap room remaining w/ assumption for rookies = $6.45

2) Cap room remaining w/ assumption for rookies = ($9.01)

Ive heard we will be as much as 50-60 million under the cap next year. Probably true as we will have onky 3-4 players with large contracts Mathis, Wayne , Bethea .... Too bad we didn't have more young talent on the roster that we could extend next year. Certainly money there to sign free agents , but you just over pay so much for them.

The Colts currently have a bit less than 8 million dollars in cap space.

In 2013, they are expected to have around 55-62 million in cap space.

spotrac.com is a great site for contracts... it made me much more knowledgeable on contracts and salary cap situations.

Weird. He was super active on here a while back. I had definitely wondered whatever happened to him. He even won the "Best New Member" in the 2011 award we had a few months back.
