  1. It would be frightening for defenses I'm a positive guy so..... thanks I think
  2. Interesting.... I think it would still be good to interview and assess. With Leaders like MPJ and guys like AP in a room ran by Reggie Wayne IF he checks out and has grown I wouldn't mind. We don't have to have a team full of choir boys and plus look at how the great 88 was for us even with some allegations..... Even Bobby Okereke had a shady past, these are young people and it's tough we judge these men for things they do in high school or mistakes they make in college and don't have the same judgement for our doctors, lawyers and other members of society who actually play a key role.... outside of entertainment
  3. Are you talking about when the Tennessee fans rushed the field? With Bobby Okereke past we still selected him so I think it's a minor blimp
  4. Wanted to start the month off with a Mock Draft. This team is solid, yes we have a few holes but overall we aren't that far off. Warning Warning Warning I'm a mad scientist when it comes to trade and this one won't disappoint. I use the trade chart. I will warn you that my trades are out of box. Mock Draft 1st Laiatu Latu DE UCLA 6'5 259lbs RAS score: 9.19 Nfl comp: Trey Henderson Explanation: Our QB pressures has been lacking. We position ourselves to go best player available. Latu comes in with a high motor and a tool box of pass rushing moves. Trade Colts 2nd round (440) For Packers pick 58 and 91 (456) Packers select Zach Frazier C West Virginia 6'2 314lbs Logic: Packers replace Jon Meyers who gave up 5 sacks and had a pff grade of 55.8 Colts trade pick 58 and Kwity Paye For Saints Marshon Lattimore CB 27 years old and a conditional 2025 4th (depending on snaps could be 3rd) From Over the cap The team trading for Lattimore would take on his contract as is. They would have the decision to either pick up the option to defer the cap charges or to simply take all of the hit in 2024. Here is the cost on the cap if the team picks up the option in the contract: Year Salary Cap Charge Dead Money 2024 $15,000,000 $12,000,000 2025 $18,000,000 $0 2026 $18,500,000 $0 2027 (void) $0 $0 Lattimore has no guaranteed money in his contract after 2024 so there is nothing that would lock a team into him beyond this year. Colts Logic: We wanted some experience in the secondary. We wanted a shutdown corner. So we give the Saints a offer they can not refuse. In the first 2 rounds we address most of our defensive woes. Saints Logic: Saints are switching to a 4-3 defense this year and just let Michael Thomas walk. They have always been cap wizards but this may be the year to start a new with the changes listed above. Lattimore has only played 17 games these past two seasons and even though he's a top 12 CB when healthy he has been dinged up. Kwity Paye can start at DE until Chase Young is healthy. 3rd Jermaine Burton WR Alabama 6' 196lbs Ras score: 9.57 Nfl comp: Kenny Stills Explanation: Jermaine Burton can play inside or out. He can give all 3 positions a breather and provides great separation skills deep. 3rd Cedric Grey LB UNC 6'3 235lbs Ras score: 8.04 Nfl comp: Germaine Pratt Explanation: We are looking for a LB that can cover. Mixon, Etienne and Tony Pollard all have pass catching skills. Grey ability to cover the flats and play zones will get him in the rotation his rookie year. 4th Braelon Allen RB Wisconsin 6'1 235lbs Ras score: incomplete Nfl comp: Brian Robinson Jr Explanation: Allen will provide short yardage help. He can wear down the defense and give us a different dynamic option than we currently have. 5th Dwight McGlothern CB Arkansas 6'2 188lbs Ras score: 5.87 Nfl comp: Tremaine Johnson Explanation: Dwight McGlothern is a crafty and pesky CB. He has reps against big time WRs and his aggressiveness can help us win the turnover battle. 6th Matt Lee C Miami 6'4 300lbs Ras score: 9.86 Explanation: Lee is the definition of hard work. A 3 star recruit, he started at Center 2020 giving up 3 sacks, 2021 giving up 1 sack, 2022 giving up 1 sack and transferring to the U in 2023 and allowed no sacks. 7th Ainias Smith WR/RB Texas A&M 5'9 185lbs Ras score: incomplete Explanation: I wanted to add someone who can make plays in special teams. The new kicking rule I wanted to bring in a tough shifty guy who may have the ability to make a big play. Summary We loaded up with interior line help this Off-season. Latu help us retain a deep rotation and hopefully he can become a Maxx Crosby like player for this organization. Lattimore for a 2nd may be steep but at only 27 and lock in for 3 more years with no dead cap after year one this is the type of deal that the organization loves. Similar to Rock Ya-Sin, the organization ships out Kwity Paye with a year left on his contract. The Saints get insurance for Chase Young and depending upon play time we get a decent pick (I'm projecting Falcons and Buccaneers to finish top in the NFC South) At wide receiver we bring in Jermaine Burton and Ainias Smith. Burton being drafted doesn't mean we are giving up on AP even though he can fill the role of deep threat. Smith immediately helps special teams and can get looks if we have injuries. My hope is that he could be similar to Hines. Cedric Grey gives us a coverage LB and someone waiting in the wings if Speeds leaves in free agency next year. Braelon Allen will really round out the RB room with his skillset. Dwight McGlothern is depth with Lattimore injury history and just our general luck.... having a guy with his experience in cover 3 will help. Lastly I've been on the train/thought process of trading high on Ryan Kelly. Last year was great but I don't foresee paying him, Braden Smith and Raimann. Even if we let him play the whole year out or if we trade him I'm ok with walking away. Teams like the Cardinals, Cowboys and Eagles all maybe looking for a upgrade at this position. As far as Safety I think we could address this after the draft. I think the addition of Marshon Lattimore could attract a player to come or we could wait for camp cuts. I do like Calen Bullock from USC and thought about grabbing him in the 4th instead of Braelon Allen. I think Allen will provide day 1 impact and I would like for Bullock to get a NFL nutritionist and weight program that 1st year. His measurables aren't to far off from Justin Simmons. Thanks for the read and comments
  5. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/dwight-mcglothern/32004d43-4750-2452-f50b-d013530d26a3 Check him out.... he's aggressive
  6. I'm waiting on a extension for either DeForest Buckner or Ryan Kelly 🤔 it would have created some space this Off-season.... idk what CB has brewing
  7. My favorite prospects at CB is Kool-aid McKinstrey and Dwight McGlothern.... both maybe a little to lite when looking at what Gus Bradley wants
  8. Sedrick Van pran is just a example..... you have JPJ as well.... in the proposed trade Colts would get Budda Baker back so Safety (weak draft for this position) wouldn't be a need. If you want cap relief you extend him a year or two and he fills Blackmon role while giving us the veteran leadership in the secondary.... I think you ignored the article of Ryan Kelly thinking about life after football. We seen Aaron Donald talk about life after football and a few seasons later he retired.... If that's too far away from home then look no further than AC who talked about retirement and life after football and a few seasons later he retired... We weren't prepared which left us desperate for a LT a la Eric Fisher.... Hopefully CB has learned from this (AC example) and has a plan B just in case retirement is on the horizon for Ryan Kelly
  9. With the personal tragedy Ryan Kelly and his family has suffered.... Also the concussions https://fox59.com/sports/colts/colts-ryan-kelly-ill-never-put-my-family-in-jeopardy/ I wouldn't mind doing him a favor- letting him start fresh And doing us a favor- selling high Sedrick Van Pran of Georgia comes in with basically the same if not more starts than Kelly had in the SEC and all the awards..... Definitely agree no perfect roster gave my take on how to fill a few holes and we are discussing them.... I understand you would go about it a different way and that's fine... I feel like my responses to your criticism have been fair and look forward to more interaction on this
  10. Not snarky at all just a discussion.... So I'm trying to be a little proactive. Like getting a alarm system before I get robbed instead of after..... Tomorrow problems will be here soon so why not address some today. You didn't say anything about the drop off when he didn't play so why not have a rookie and Pinter rotate or even the guy who filled in for Kelly since Pinter was hurt (sorry name escapes me). I think replacing 1 at a time is easier than letting Ryan Kelly walk for a comp pick and the next year replacing Braden Smith. We gotta be proactive and not just let our offensive line get old and overpaid imo.... replacing Kelly this year could open up money to keep both tackles? Or do something else... being short sighted and addressing that situation the day of will force us to overpay or reach imo
  11. Similar to what you said about the WR the draft is deep with Center prospects. Jpj, Zach Frazier, Sedrick Van Pran, Beaux Limmer, Tanor Bortolini, Graham Barton Just to name a few... also Braden Smith and Raimann deals are coming up in the next few years... I think it would be hard to build around AR paying top dollar for 4 out of the 5 linemen.... Budda Baker value to the secondary could be far greater than Ryan Kelly to the offensive line (he missed games without to much drop off) A center playing next to a top 5 guard is more likely to succeed imo than the wr alone on a island. Lastly and I get you not wanting to pay Tee, but how will the Bengals pay all 3( Joe, Tee, Jamarr Chase)? I know he may want to keep him but surely he understands paying all 3 will hamstring the team....
  12. Just a idea... the draft is a gamble look at Corey Coleman, Jalen Reagor or even our own Alec Pierce Tee is a for sure thing, at a discounted price because of the deep WR Draft. We chose the wrong WR and it's Year 1 he's trying to adjust Year 2 it was just rookie woes Year 3 he may not be the guy and we wasted AR rookie contract
  13. Some Bengals fans saw the idea and didn't poo poo it down https://www.cincyjungle.com/2024/3/23/24109460/bengals-round-1-pff-mock-draft-friday-3-22
