Worst Colts Of All-Time

I thought this might be fun to remember those who didn't work out so well. It might "lighten the mood" too.

I feel we have to start with Trev Alberts.

Any others?

Nah Linkenbach hasnt been around that long and is still learning, of course I could make it easy and say anyone who has ever played in the colts secondary in the last 20 years

well Id like to forget Rob Morris was a colt

They made him a starter after the embarrassing lose to the Jags in 06, and he became a huge part of the SB run

The SB run clears any mistakes from the past

Yea, he played ok in '06.

Plus, he wrestled alligators. That has to count for something!

Chip Vaughn. Two back-to-back unsportsmanlike penalties... Even though it was preseason, anyone who can make Jim Caldwell mad is a bad player in my book!

"Yo Vaughn, how ya like me now!?! Let's eat!"

No list is complete without QB Jared Lorenzen!

aka "Jumbo Giant," "Quarter(got)back", "QBese," "Hefty Lefty," "The Pillsbury Throwboy", "J.Load", "Round Mound of Touchdown", "Tubby Gunslinger","BBQ (Big Beautiful Quarterback)," "Battleship Lorenzen", "Butterball", and "Lord Of The Ring-Dings".

315lbs of pure muscle sporting lucky #13! In preseason, J.Load threw several deep passes, one deep down middle into double (triple?) coverage that got intercepted. Afterwards, Tom Moore (the OC at the time) told J.Load on the sidelines not to throw those kinds of passes, and J.Load blew up in the old man's face! It was caught on camera.

Ironically, he went to the Giants and won a Superbowl ring as their backup, so he's tied with Manning for number of Superbowl wins.

We wouldn't have won a super bowl without booger and weren't people in love with Nevis last year?

Last I remembered Nevis got injured and booger had better years by far before he came to our team

Both are still far from the worst colt to ever play. That's also over looking Elis Johnson McCoy and reagor all three of which were solid dts for us. Also excluded is Simon who turned out to be a punk but the one year he played for us he was a large part of why the 2005 defense was so good. Guys like painter art schilister and kerwin bell were far worse.

I found footage of "Lord Of The Ring-Dings" making defenders miss!... His throwing ability is under scrutiny, but there's no question he's tough to bring down! Check out that sold out crowd!

Not really the worst player, but one of the biggest busts to ever play for the Colts.

I would go with this

It would be hard to argue any Colt could be worse that Schlicter. Sorry for name calling, but what an *!

I think flaming a player can be excused in this case. He defined "*ic" and was an embarrassment to everything horseshoe.

    • Here is a podcast from Sports Illustrated that features Zach Banner:     And here's Banner on The Herd:     Seems like a smart young man with personality. That's good after we lost the only guy with personality on our roster this off-season.
    •   Here's my depth chart of the current roster, including my prediction of my final 53. Assuming no major FA signings or trades, here's what I see.   IMO Parry is def gone with the draft of Glover Stewart. We didn't draft someone in the 4th round to let it go to the practice squad.   Of our 9 DLs, 2 are gone for sure making a total of 7. Amongst the 2 to be cut will likely be the following:
McGill - $0 dead cap Parry - 110K dead cap Woods - 250K dead cap Hunt - 500K dead cap   At OLB, Maggitt will def be gone before Mingo is; he only has a $4000 dead cap (NOT A TYPO) while Mingo will stay simply because he was a former 1st rounder and we'll still hoping he pulls a Jerry Hughes after the latter went to Buffalo.
    • I also caught the wise * remarks about Indy and their use of their zoo to make their picks.
    • You bring up an interesting point about his weight. I guess it could be seen as an opportunity for improvement. According to report he's been losing weight for a while now in order to become a draftable player. I guess if he's serious enough and has good work ethic he can reshape his body and improve his movement with it. I just hope his weight is not an issue every off-season.
    • I also got a kick out of Mike Mayock getting upset over Rich & the gang on the NFL Network set wanting to keep going back to that Orange orangutan pushing that touch screen at the Indianapolis Zoo & then Rich throws in an "Every Which Way But Loose" Clint Eastwood movie reference. Bah! Ha! Ha! I've never seen Charles laugh so hard either.    I hated that stupid rant over how great the Dallas Cowboys were. Man, I detest the bleeping Cowboys! America's Team my caboose! Who just won the SB again? Oh yeah, NE. The Cow Girls last won a Lombardi Trophy in 1995, the 20th Century. Shut the you know what up Lone Star fans. Sorry, but you must win a title within 5 yrs to be respected Dallas. Just saying.
