Worst Colts Of All-Time

I thought this might be fun to remember those who didn't work out so well. It might "lighten the mood" too.

I feel we have to start with Trev Alberts.

Any others?

well Id like to forget Rob Morris was a colt

They made him a starter after the embarrassing lose to the Jags in 06, and he became a huge part of the SB run

The SB run clears any mistakes from the past

Yea, he played ok in '06.

Plus, he wrestled alligators. That has to count for something!

Chip Vaughn. Two back-to-back unsportsmanlike penalties... Even though it was preseason, anyone who can make Jim Caldwell mad is a bad player in my book!

No list is complete without QB Jared Lorenzen!

aka "Jumbo Giant," "Quarter(got)back", "QBese," "Hefty Lefty," "The Pillsbury Throwboy", "J.Load", "Round Mound of Touchdown", "Tubby Gunslinger","BBQ (Big Beautiful Quarterback)," "Battleship Lorenzen", "Butterball", and "Lord Of The Ring-Dings".

315lbs of pure muscle sporting lucky #13! In preseason, J.Load threw several deep passes, one deep down middle into double (triple?) coverage that got intercepted. Afterwards, Tom Moore (the OC at the time) told J.Load on the sidelines not to throw those kinds of passes, and J.Load blew up in the old man's face! It was caught on camera.

Ironically, he went to the Giants and won a Superbowl ring as their backup, so he's tied with Manning for number of Superbowl wins.

We wouldn't have won a super bowl without booger and weren't people in love with Nevis last year?

Last I remembered Nevis got injured and booger had better years by far before he came to our team

Both are still far from the worst colt to ever play. That's also over looking Elis Johnson McCoy and reagor all three of which were solid dts for us. Also excluded is Simon who turned out to be a punk but the one year he played for us he was a large part of why the 2005 defense was so good. Guys like painter art schilister and kerwin bell were far worse.

I found footage of "Lord Of The Ring-Dings" making defenders miss!... His throwing ability is under scrutiny, but there's no question he's tough to bring down! Check out that sold out crowd!

Not really the worst player, but one of the biggest busts to ever play for the Colts.

I would go with this

It would be hard to argue any Colt could be worse that Schlicter. Sorry for name calling, but what an *!

I think flaming a player can be excused in this case. He defined "*ic" and was an embarrassment to everything horseshoe.

    • Predict the AFC South's finishing records
Hahaha yeah and the Colts were without Luck for 9 games and we still split the series with them. The Texans narrowly escaped with that win against us too, WITHOUT Luck!!! Not impressive if you ask me. Then they got spanked and embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs. If the Colts boast an improved O line this year with a healthy Luck and a competent offensive coordinator, I think the Colts still have this division. Plus we get Henry Anderson back on D. And Brock is still very largely unproven so there is more question marks there than answers right now.
    • Add 2 players to the Colts- 1 on offense and 1 on defense
Watt Gronk Not very imaginative,  but those are your game wreckers
    • Position Depth Comfort Level
I think the original comment about a backup P/K was a joke since teams don't carry backup kickers in the regular season.  Therefore the depth would be N/A instead of getting an "A" grade, like the OP did.   The starters get an "A", but there are no backup kickers on ANY team to grade for depth...
    • Position Depth Comfort Level
So because you haven't seen it happen, Vinatieri hasn't punted a football in years, and therefore, couldn't even do it if he had to in a game?    You don't think the Colts have ever practiced for a situation where McAfee gets hurt, and Vinny has to punt?  Have you seen how McAfee hits returners?   You don't think he has punted the ball once in a single practice with the Colts ever?  Because you haven't seen it in camp?

Hello my Name is Robin. And i'm from Denmark. even though i've been member on this forum for a long time, and the old one as well. I would like to Introduce myself. I became a Colts fan in 2007, when I watched my first NFL game. My brother introduced me to NFL, the superbowl between Colts & Bears, And as we all know the Bears scored first, so I had to rude for the "underdogs".. and from that day on I was hooked. I've watched every game since, even the primetime games, that starts 2:30 in Denmark, it's a long day working with no sleep but damn its worth it. Can't wait for my next big Colts adventure, when I get to see them playing in London

I have been a fan since 1984 when I became an early teen and really started to understand the game. Colts moved to Indianapolis in 1984 and eventhough we stunk for a while, things obviously got better. We traded for Dickerson in 1987 and won the Division, then we had Harbaugh's magical season in 1995, the Peyton ERA where winning 12 games was a piece of cake + winning a SB in 2006, now the Andrew ERA where we have already had 3 11 win seasons and a deep Playoff run.
