Absolutely. Would love to see him in the fold here. He would be a solid nickel guy and could pretty much play any of the 3 LB spots. He has mostly played WLB and SLB recently I believe. But I know he came in as an inside LB too.

Would definitely be a solid addition if we decided to pursue him.

IMO ILB is still our weakest position so we definitely should be looking for upgrades. Kendricks is a definite upgrade.

I would like to know why he was released before I jump on the lets sign him bandwagon

I don't know much about him but if he can start at an LB position he's worth looking into.

Kendricks was set to make $6 million this year and his cap hit is $7 million. They only have about $322,485 in cap space so I'm guessing that is the reason he was released. 77 tackles last year 2.0 sacks.

His cap savings, plus the fact that they've been shopping him for years make this not a surprising cut.

He's always been a solid LB. PFF has him as their 9th best LB with a rating of 86, which is really good.

The Eagles saved over $4M in cap space.
Kendricks has value on the inside in a 3-4.
And gets exposed trying to cover TE & RB.
  So yes, let's sign him.

Salary, likely. They re-signed Bradham and are up against it.

He was one of the LBs I wanted to target early in the offseason as a possible trade. If the price is right, I think this guy will be a Colt shortly. Need some veteran presence in that LB group.

This could be great news if we sign him. Can we claim him on waivers with the #3 waiver spot?

No..he has more than four years of service time. He just becomes an unrestricted FA.

Thank you Shasta. I wasn't sure what the difference was exactly between being able to claim some players and not others. This clears it up for me!

I couldn't agree more.  I wanted him in a trade as well and now he is there for the taking.  His release was all about cap savings IMO.  I hope Ballard moves on this one.

He will likely have a couple of suitors. Hopefully, Reich can help get him here.

Does anyone have any insight into his play? Never really focused on him but people on here seem to like him

Was he OLB or ILB in Philly?

Both. He moved inside when Jordan Hicks got hurt

I rather a healthy Jordan Hicks.

We'll see where Ballard and Reich stand on this.  If they see a fit I think it's good to bring in a guy fresh off a Superbowl squad to add to the culture and influence the young guys.

Reich knows him and he would fill one of the biggest needs on this team, so why not bring him in for at least a visit?

And I’d rather Luke Kuechly but what’s the point one is a FA the other isn’t....

He played OLB AFAIK, but IMO if we get him we should move him to MIKE, simply because we have noone better there and he was MIKE in college... he's very rangy and can chase sideline to sideline. I don't think we have a better athlete than him at the position right now.

I heard it was value for salary, in that he would only be a part time player in their D system this year.

He's better than any LB we have now. Bring him in for a look see.

Sad display on just one of the differences between a Super Bowl defense vs. the Colts D when a part time LB player immediately become the best LB on the Colts roster vs. his projected part time role on the Eagles.

This would be a great late FA signing. If you could get a guy who can contribute on your Defense, potentially as a starter, then you did good.

He could be a solid stop gap for a season or two while the youth develops.

Perhaps....perhaps not. Let's see how the new scheme and coaches affect our LB's. Youth is on our side.

Looks like Kendricks is visiting the Vikings, Raiders and Browns.

I would have liked to kick the tires on him, but if he really is supposed to make a decision this week, it looks like it would be one of these three in all likelihood.

Why on earth is Ballard not even entertaining bringing him in? He has ties to Reich and would fill one of our biggest needs.

The only thing i can remotely make of it is that Reich has weighed in and said something about not wanting or needing him. Otherwise the dots connecting him to us made too much sense.

Maybe there was a reason the Philly staff kept him parked on the bench a lot of the time, despite what the PFF analysis says about how well he did during his time on the field.

I would have liked for us to entertain him, but if we aren't I have to assume Reich has weighed in and we have purposefully decided not to pursue him. Which, if so, I am OK with.

    • I don't believe this hogwash for a second.....he sounds like a bitter young man angry about not getting offered the money he thinks he's worth.   The class and dignity this organization has shown from top to bottom with the McDaniels incident alone tells me this is utter nonsense.
    • Yeah the Cubs hadn't won a WS in 108 years and everyone loved us outside of our fanbase until that happened. Everyone said the Cubs had the most loyal fans to put up with years of losing. Once the Cubs won it all, now everyone outside of our fanbase hates us and thinks Cubs fans are bandwagon fans . Funniest thing ever.
    • Oh for sure they’re annoying. But they got 1 Super Bowl in 50 years. I’ll just let em enjoy it. Plus I always find rowdy celebrations that may or may not involve the consumption of horse crap to be hilarious
    • I know I’m being unreasonable and they do deserve credit, but Eagles fans are the worst. I’m glad they beat the Pats but they are my second most hated team (after the Pats).
    • "Two months into the 2018 NFL league year, Eric Reid, Tre Boston and Kenny Vaccaro remain unemployed, while their peers, Morgan Burnett, Tyrann Mathieu, Kurt Coleman and Marcus Gilchrist, were signed within the first week of free agency. Only Burnett and Matheiu were considered better players than Reid, Boston and Vaccaro by most outlets that published free agent rankings."
"The 2018 NFL draft was also considered a good safety draft, a fact some used to explain why Reid struggled to garner any interest early in free agency. But only three safeties were drafted in the first two rounds of the 2018 draft. It wasn’t nearly as deep as the last year’s draft, which had no effect on the free agent safety market.   For whatever reason, this year is different. Really different. At least for Reid, Vaccaro and Boston. The other big free agents at the position found work quickly. Coincidently (or maybe not), the other big free agents haven’t been involved in anthem protests.  ( http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/264431/nfl-players-who-protested-during-national-anthem-in-week-17 ) And if they have, there is no public record of it happening. ESPN.com kept a running log of players who protested during the 2017 season...
