Absolutely. Would love to see him in the fold here. He would be a solid nickel guy and could pretty much play any of the 3 LB spots. He has mostly played WLB and SLB recently I believe. But I know he came in as an inside LB too.

Would definitely be a solid addition if we decided to pursue him.

IMO ILB is still our weakest position so we definitely should be looking for upgrades. Kendricks is a definite upgrade.

I would like to know why he was released before I jump on the lets sign him bandwagon

I don't know much about him but if he can start at an LB position he's worth looking into.

Kendricks was set to make $6 million this year and his cap hit is $7 million. They only have about $322,485 in cap space so I'm guessing that is the reason he was released. 77 tackles last year 2.0 sacks.

His cap savings, plus the fact that they've been shopping him for years make this not a surprising cut.

He's always been a solid LB. PFF has him as their 9th best LB with a rating of 86, which is really good.

The Eagles saved over $4M in cap space.
Kendricks has value on the inside in a 3-4.
And gets exposed trying to cover TE & RB.
  So yes, let's sign him.

Salary, likely. They re-signed Bradham and are up against it.

He was one of the LBs I wanted to target early in the offseason as a possible trade. If the price is right, I think this guy will be a Colt shortly. Need some veteran presence in that LB group.

This could be great news if we sign him. Can we claim him on waivers with the #3 waiver spot?

No..he has more than four years of service time. He just becomes an unrestricted FA.

Thank you Shasta. I wasn't sure what the difference was exactly between being able to claim some players and not others. This clears it up for me!

I couldn't agree more.  I wanted him in a trade as well and now he is there for the taking.  His release was all about cap savings IMO.  I hope Ballard moves on this one.

He will likely have a couple of suitors. Hopefully, Reich can help get him here.

Does anyone have any insight into his play? Never really focused on him but people on here seem to like him

Was he OLB or ILB in Philly?

Both. He moved inside when Jordan Hicks got hurt

We'll see where Ballard and Reich stand on this.  If they see a fit I think it's good to bring in a guy fresh off a Superbowl squad to add to the culture and influence the young guys.

Reich knows him and he would fill one of the biggest needs on this team, so why not bring him in for at least a visit?

And I’d rather Luke Kuechly but what’s the point one is a FA the other isn’t....

He played OLB AFAIK, but IMO if we get him we should move him to MIKE, simply because we have noone better there and he was MIKE in college... he's very rangy and can chase sideline to sideline. I don't think we have a better athlete than him at the position right now.

I heard it was value for salary, in that he would only be a part time player in their D system this year.

He's better than any LB we have now. Bring him in for a look see.

Sad display on just one of the differences between a Super Bowl defense vs. the Colts D when a part time LB player immediately become the best LB on the Colts roster vs. his projected part time role on the Eagles.

Sad but true

This would be a great late FA signing. If you could get a guy who can contribute on your Defense, potentially as a starter, then you did good.

He could be a solid stop gap for a season or two while the youth develops.

Perhaps....perhaps not. Let's see how the new scheme and coaches affect our LB's. Youth is on our side.

Looks like Kendricks is visiting the Vikings, Raiders and Browns.

I would have liked to kick the tires on him, but if he really is supposed to make a decision this week, it looks like it would be one of these three in all likelihood.

Why on earth is Ballard not even entertaining bringing him in? He has ties to Reich and would fill one of our biggest needs.

The only thing i can remotely make of it is that Reich has weighed in and said something about not wanting or needing him. Otherwise the dots connecting him to us made too much sense.

Maybe there was a reason the Philly staff kept him parked on the bench a lot of the time, despite what the PFF analysis says about how well he did during his time on the field.

I would have liked for us to entertain him, but if we aren't I have to assume Reich has weighed in and we have purposefully decided not to pursue him. Which, if so, I am OK with.

    • One, there is no such thing as a white lie.  Either it's a lie or it's a truth, IMO.  But anyway.   it very well could be the team is being creative with their wording to try and protect themselves, or it could be completely truthful.  I've seen it in my own non contact practices... someone runs to get in position, pulls up right then someone trips or cuts or jukes right then and the person that pulls up gets caught in it gets knocked to the ground and slams their head off the turf.   Creative wording aside, I am sure the NFL will( have already) investigate(d), they will not make a decision by how the team discusses it to the media.
    • I’m not saying the eagles are a monster but they’ve been built through the draft and bringing in young talent. That “monster” I speak of is what we are doing bring in competitive competition to build and feed of each other like the eagles did .... the eagles weren’t the best team in the play offs nor in the SB .... plus they didn’t have their starting QB but because of what they had built and brought in they were a monster and thus my reference ..... wether they win 1-2 more doesn’t matter IMO .... they’ve built there team right and made the right calls/players like I believe CB, and our staff can, is and will do.
    • Well if he is worried about his health, he is bashing a Belichick 3rd rounder
    • Offense:  Me (center) Defense: My son (OLB)   I don't think we'd help the team at all but it would be so cool to play for the Colts and be the only father/son tandem in the NFL.
    • Somebody already created this thread, and my answers were...   DE Joey Bosa  RB Saquon Barkley
