Colts Rookie Minicamp 5/11/2018

I saw a video on this on my facebook page.  Looked like Jack Mewhort was there acting as an equipment manager.

Anyone know what's up with that?  Either the Colts have an equipment manager that looks like Jack Mewhort or Mewhort is trying to prepare for a new career or something.

Lance Zierlein gives the worst player comparisons I've ever seen. Deon Cain couldn't hold Roddy White's jock strap. Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for Cain to succeed. Colts are going to need one of the three rookie WR on the roster to contribute at some point. Cain might have a slight edge over Fountain and Ishmael but I don't think there is a big difference between them. Camp competition will be fierce.

I really hate the player comparison thing anyway because they always go for well known players who have done extremely well.

Every freaking pass catching back is compared to Darren Sproles.

Nelson isn't much for interviews. I thought Andrew's interviews were secretive. Cant get 6 words out of the guy haha

Nelson really seems like an awesome guy though. He has a cool personality and is a real football player that knows he's good. I wish we had 53 Quenton Nelson's on the team. He's probably my favorite football player already on the team.

I read he was happy that we signed Braden Smith. Is he friends with Braden? Not only would that be good chemistry on the line, but if they are friends, maybe Nelson could help Braden become a big time G?

Not sure if their friends. The tweet said he studied him to get ready for a bowl game against LSU

Edge rusher, a term for a player that rushes, or hurries the QB to put pressure on him to throw the ball away. Also tries to sack the QB. Cmon, you know this Shaun! :)

LOL I've never seen E by someones name tho for position... Usually its DE or OLB, right?  Or am I just crazy here and need to go back to eating cheetos?

Usually they spell out EDGE when referring to such a guy, but im guessing with Twitter and its limits on character numbers, they shortened it to E

Uhm, not sure that is a concept that Colts has used in recent years!? ... so I totally get Shaun’s confusion!  haha

Mack and Hines on the field in split shotgun with TY in the slot and ebron running up the seam is gonna be a nightmare for defenses to cover. That is too much speed.

I feel like every year we get hyped about our players and think of scenarios that would be a nightmare for defenses to cover. And then nothing ever happens. I don't see this year being any different. TY is literally the only player you mentioned that is a match-up nightmare. No one else.

True. no one has proven anything, but it doesn't mean you can't envision the possibility

your statement would only make more sense if we didn't have a new head coach. Because under pags i would totally agree with u

I'm sure my statement makes sense either way. TY is the only playmaker. The rest are relatively unknowns and a career underachiever.

I was nominated  most pessimistic but I probably won’t win.

That's because our previous couple of OC's lacked imagination.....whereas the new staff has talked about creativity in the offense quite a bit.

I thought I read somewhere where Smith was a 1st. team All American.  If so I think that would qualify as a big time guard.

Rookies are not career underachievers. Neither is Mack. Ty, Hines, Mack could all be playmakers together.

yep...

"He was a second-team All-SEC pick by league media at right guard in 2015 and received second and third-team All-American notice at that position as a junior while also picking up second-team all-conference recognition from SEC coaches. In Smith's final season, he was honored as a first-team All-American and All-SEC selection after starting all 14 games for the Tigers. "

The career underachiever is Ebron, not the rookies. My initial post here was in response to what CR91 said.
