Let's Make Some Predictions!

Recommended Posts

Alright Colts Fans, we only have a small window of about four months to get in our predictions for the season... :D  so without further ado!

My first prediction is that Andrew Luck does return, but not week 1.  :dunno:

I predict 8-8.  In the Wild Card Race until week 17.

Wins:  Bengals, Native Americans, Jets, Bills, Dolphins, Giants, Titans, Texans

Losses:  Eagles, Pats, Raiders, Cowboys, Titans, Texans, Jags twice

Offensive Ranks:

    15th Overall  -  13th in Rushing, 21st in Passing

Leading Passer  -  Luck  3,000 yds, 20 TD, 6 int

Leading Rusher  -  Mack 1,000 yds, 8 TD

Leading Receiver  -  TY 1,000 yds, 8 TD

Defensive Ranks:

    20th Overall  -  23rd in Rushing, 15th in Passing

    Leading Tackler  -  Leonard  -  100 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 FF, 3 int

    Leading Sacker  -  Sheard  -  50 tackles, 8 sacks, 3 FF

    Leading Interceptor  -  Hooker  -  30 tackles, 5 int, 2 TD

I think these are pretty realistic expectations for this team right now.  Overall, we should improve over last year, but we're still not where we want to be.  I hope I'm wrong about our passing attack and Luck returns and makes the Colts a top-5 offense again.  That would probably boost a lot of these stats across the board for the entire team, most importantly it would probably lead to a few more wins and maybe the playoffs.

By 3000 you practically predict that Luck will be hurt again, otherwise no way he'll throw less than 3800-4000 yards. 3000 is a Tyrod Taylor's number nowadays.

I think I skip this prediction just yet, I feel it's too early. I'll save it for the preseason. :)

If he doesn't start the first few games, 3000 yds is pretty reasonable.

1000 yards from mack is pretty optimistic

I'm more optimistic about our run-game than our passing attack at this point.  I think Reich and Co. will have a more innovative rushing attack than the Pagano "Gore up the gut" rushing attack.

I can see Mack and Hines getting lots of "chunk" plays from draws and tosses.  If Mack is our #1 and stays healthy for 16 games, I can see him rushing for 63 yds/game.

i just wonder if he will get enough carries to get there.  i dont think we have an every down back on the team, but we have several guys who could get 10-15 carries a game.  we might throw to the RBs a lot too

I don't think it's unrealistic to project 1000 for Mack with more attempts and better blocking.   I mean Vick Ballard had about 800 plus in a committee behind a bad OL.

It depends on how long it takes for Luck to shake off the rust.  We've seen him pass for 3500-4000 with mediocre receivers most of his career.

My bold predictions:

-Turbin has double digit TDs

-We finish with 10 wins or more

-A rookie leads in sacks

-Our TEs have more receiving TDs than our WRs

-Luck not only wins Comeback Player of the Year but also MVP

-Hooker leads the league in INTs

-Mack grabs the starting job and runs away with it (pun intended) 1000+ yards

Worth pointing out that none of Philly's RBs cracked 1000 last year and none of their receivers cracked 1000 and we just stacked on depth at both positions. It's very possible our RB by committee situation prevents anybody from reaching 1000 yards.

Mack- 800 yds rushing, 300 yds receiving- 7 rushing tds, 2 receiving tds

Wilkins- 600 yds rushing, 300 yds receiving- 4 rushing tds, 1 receiving td

Hines- 500 yds rushing, 400 yds receiving- 3 rushing tds, 1 receiving td

Turbin- 200 yds rushing, 8 rushing tds

we will use these 4 A LOT in both the rushing and receiving game. They will be luck's lifesource and we will use 2 RB sets for a large chunk of the offensive playbook

Hilton- 1200 yds, 10 tds

Grant- 500 yds 5 tds

Rogers- 500 yds, 5 tds

Fountain- 400 yds 4 tds

Cain- 400 yds 4 tds

Hilton will be the primary receiver, and the rest will get their fair share. Should be a overall solid group of WR's with a decent 2-5 that can all get yards.

Doyle- 600 yds, 8 tds

Ebron- 500 yds, 5 tds

Doyle and Ebron get their fair share as well and are good red zone targets

This is my offensive prediction.

Yeah but Phillys main runner for most of the year I believe was Blount.   I mean he's not the fastest in the world.   And Ajayi came late in the year.   I don't think they have anybody else of note.  Small role players like Clement.   I can see your point though.

11-5 record ..... TY leads receiving yards again .... Mack goes for 1000 yards + and we win division.

Luck 4240 yards 34TD's to 11 INT's adds 340 yards rushing and 3 rushing TD's

Mack 750 rushing yards 6TD's 400 REC yards and 4 TD's

Hilton if luck plays every game 1600 yards 7-8 TD's without maybe 1000yards and 5TD's

Grant 756 yards 5TD's

Doyle 878 yards 7TD's

Ebron 656 yards 6TD's

Swoope adds another 350 yards and 4TD's

Defensively

Leonard 125 tackles 3 sacks 3FF 6 Passes defensed and 3 INT's

Waker jr. 88 tackles 2.5 sacks 2FF 2 passes defensed 1 INT

Sheard 58 tackles 8.5 sacks 6 FF

Simon 52 tackles 5.5 sacks 4 FF

Turay 15 tackles 3 sacks 1FF

Lewis 14 tackles 2.5 sacks 1 FF 2 Passes defensed

Q Wilson 42 tackles 1 sack 12 passes defensed 4 INT's

Desir 40 tackles 0.5 sack 8 passes defensed 3 INT's

Hairston 37 tackles 2.5 sacks 7 passes defensed 2 INT's

Hooker 70 tackles 1 sack 12 passes defensed 7 INT's

Geathers 62 tackles 2 sacks 7 passes defensed 2 INT's

probably unrealistic but I think all that is possible and maybe 9-7 this year.

I'll play.  All pending good health.

Mack has over 1000yards

TY has over 1700yards

Hooker has more than 10 INT

Our sack numbers jump to top 15 in league

Luck is sacked less than 15 times

Eric Ebron has more than 10 TDs

I predict, barring injury, that all 11 draft picks make the original 53 as well as Skai Moore and Steve Ishmael.

I predict Mewhort will start the season on the PuP.

I predict that Hunt gets released/traded in favor of a younger player.

I predict Morrison gets released/traded in favor of a player who fits the scheme better.

Lastly, I predict Luck returns to form and runs the new offense efficiently enough to get the Colts 10 wins.

I'm not one for these early predictions, but I'm in class right now and my teacher is boring the heck outta me so here goes.

Andrew Luck: 4200 yards, 35 touchdowns, 10 picks

TY Hilton: 1200 yards, 6 TDs

Jack Doyle: 700 yards, 10 TDs

Eric Ebron: 800 yards, 4 TDs

Ryan Grant: 500 yards, 5 TDs

Marlon Mack: 800 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns

Nyhiem Hines: 400 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns

Jordan Wilkins: 300 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns

Colts offense ranks top 10 and the offensive line improves to the top 10. The defense is improved, but not enough to compete with the leagues elite. Hooker, Quincy, and Anthony Walker Jr breakout.

Colts go 9-7, but miss the playoffs due to a tough division.

I predict 8-8. This roster still has a lot of holes. Some of the draft picks will not pan out. The injury bugs will eat away at what little depth we do have. Another draft+ spending some FA money next year will make us the surprise team of 2019.

And oh yeah, Nelson is a probowler in his rookie season

Best possible scenario: Luck returns week 1. We go 12-4 with an rejuvinated Luck

Wins: Jags once, Texans twice. Titans twice, Bengals, Redskins, Jets, Bills, Dolphins, Giants, Cowboys

Losses: Eagles, Pats, Jags once, Raiders

Worst Scenario: Luck does not return to full strength, Brissett leads us to an 7-9 campaign and we draft a quarterback next year.

Luck keeps saying he’s going to be a better qb this year.  That either means he allows the offense to run better which means running the ball when best or he’s going to light it up passing wise. I predict the first, so Lucks passing yards will be slightly down and rushing yards greater.
