I just can't see any AFC South team finishing last in NFL wins

Yeah, we all wish. :)

Next year could be a year where the team picking first could have 4 or 5 wins??? When was the last time it happened? What is the maximum number of wins a team in the SB era had while picking 1st in the draft?

The chargers? They have a pretty solid roster IMO so would need to be a blockbuster trade to get to number 1.

I agree with @danlhart87 the dolphins roster is just hot garbage right now. Gase gone by week 10.

I don't know who the top pick will be, but I'll guess the team that lands the #1 overall pick at the end of the year (before any trades are made) will be either the Jets or Bengals

I am comfortable believing it will not be the Colts. Unfortunately, some team will face that.

I’ll say the Bills end up with the worst record. Their roster is the worst in the league in my opinion.

That would be neat to see but I highly doubt they end up picking top 5.

Unfortunately, the Colts would seem like the most likely AFC South team to end up picking #1 next year.

We're by no means done rebuilding, but that's okay. Rome wasn't build in a day.

In the unlikely scenario that happens who do you take?

Four or five wins might still land the #1 pick next year, and we could easily be looking at a five-win season. Even just another Top-5 would go a long way toward rebuilding the franchise. Couple that with a ton of cap roll-over money, and we could be looking at 2020 to be our year.

While Buckethead's skills are impressive, I'm guessing that Gumballhead is much tastier.

Couldn't tell you with certainty at this point.

Dex Lawrence, Chris Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell, Rashan Gary, Ed Oliver, Bosa the younger and Raekwon Davis could be candidates. Lot of defensive talent at the top of next years draft. But lots could happen over the course of a season with injuries etc. But we'll see.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Nick Bosa, DE Ohio State

The Bucs are garbage and Jameis Winston might be a bust.

I got curious so I went and looked it up. Since 1970, 2003 was the year with the most wins for the number one pick. Four teams went 4-12. Chargers, Raiders, Cardinals, Giants. That was the Eli Manning, Philip Rivers trade. Every other year was 3 wins or less.

Yeah, it's great but I don't have the beard for that amount of hops LOL.

Gumballhead is the top of my hoppy range.

Oh yeah, good stuff. There's only a couple of 3Floyds that I haven't been a fan of so far.

    • You're right,  he's not an all-star.    But Breeland is easily the best zone corner available.    Good enough to command a contract of 3/24 when he was thought to be healthy.     And he was ranked as a top-40 free agent on every reputable top-100 free agent list.    NFL.com,  PFF and ESPN.com.        So,  he may be average, or slightly above average,  but no one here is sure that we have any one better.   Someone from our collection of unknowns may wind up being that,   but no one knows for sure.   We're all guessing.   I'd be very happy to have him signed,  especially since Wilson apparently didn't play much this spring due to some unknown minor injury.   I don't see a downside to signing Breeland with a decent chance for a good upside.    You don't often get a chance to sign someone of his ability to a bargain contract.     I'd take it.
    • Thanks for the info! I liked the pick.
    • As time goes by and the more time he misses, we can forget just how good our QB can be when healthy.  If he really is better than he's ever been, I'm definitely excited to see what he can do.  Even if he's just "only" as good as he was before surgery I'm still pretty intrigued.  Here's a nice reminder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUAy3hQGY6w
    • I'm glad they are doing their due diligence with him. I watched him a bit last season and I thought he was worth about a 5th-6th round pick without knowing he had issues with coachability(I heard about those from Matt Miller on his Stick to Football podcast when he declared for the supplemental draft). Now I'm wary giving up even a 5th... but that's why Ballard and his staff are paid millions - to do their research and see if there is fire where the smoke is.
