David Garrard injured in Thursday night practice

Jaguars quarterback David Garrard injured his back, then left the practice fields through a back exit during Thursday night's training camp practice.

Despite wearing a red no-contact jersey, as all the Jaguars quarterbacks do, Garrard was knocked down at least once during an 11-on-11 drill late in practice. Garrard received attention from Jaguars trainer Mike Ryan on the sideline before leaving the field.

Sounds like he'll be ok to start the season.

Not a good way to start off though.

Hmmmm.....I wonder who's hitting the QB during 11-on-11 drills. Probably not the best way to secure your position on the team. Those extra-curricular hits during drills can end up being worse than game-day hits just because the QB is not expecting to get hit and doesn't brace himself or protect himself.
