Given that this thread is regarding the NFL opting to open the season on a Wednesday to avoid conflicting with a speech by Obama, I realize that it may be hard not to post your personal political views in reponse.

However, doing so just leads to political debates which are against forum rules. So, please try to keep politics out of the discussion.

I doubt this will happen, but it's just an idea. The NFL should do a NBA/MLB type schedule and have all the games throughout the week.

Ex. Week 1 (Not the actual games)

Bears/Pacers Sunday

Ravens/Steeles Monday

Colts/Texans Tuesday

Etc..

They changed the starting time 4 years ago to accommodate McCain and it was still too close for comfort, so they are changing the day this time. I believe they have some sort of agreement not to have games on friday b/c of college games.

Good. It is nice to see respect shown to the position of POTUS. It is something that has been severely lacking in this nation over the past few presidents.

This is not a big deal from the NFL perspective. The fans will watch whenever a game is on.
