I am surprised here. He would have cost the Bears $8 mil..but he's 31 and still a good guard I thought.

 

Maybe $8 mil is too much for a guard if you're not a contender

Might be worth considering for a short term fix on the line.  But I'm not sure how likely that is.  He's over 30 and Ballard may not want him due to the mistakes of Grigson.

I think you answered your own question there mark....you probably could have left the contender part off there but even so I think you hit the nail on the head. Bears have some major needs that 8 million would be better used for...and while a good guard....he isn't like the best in the game so yeah he wasn't worth it.
