That's just it though, we've just seen Phair get announced and we don't officially have a head coach yet. Just wondering if we'll see a lot more of the same after today.

There's been no official hirings by the Colts, just twitter reports by the beat reporters.

That's fair enough. Just wondering if the Colts were to have a green light, so to speak, on starting to aquire possible targeted coaches as a result of yesterday's supposed meeting, which we still haven't heard anything about. :P

But I thought nobody wanted to work for Jimbo, that he chases people off?? That he's old and senile lmao. Yet he was able to hire one of the best young GM's and best OC in the league over the last 2 years. On a serious note, I like the hire as our Offense should be much more fun to watch.

He does chase people off. McDaniels is coming to Indy because of my unwavering loyalty to him since his failed stint in Denver. McDaniels feels like he has a rock to lean on with me as a fan and he'll put up with Irsay to have that. :)

See with you being from Colorado, not only did you bring Peyton Karma where he got #2, you brought us McDaniels after his fail in that state haha.

I'll either be the Colts best friend or worst enemy. LOL.

Assuming Luck does get back to 100%, I think McDaniels will be fine. We have high Draft picks in every round as well. I think Ballard will keep loading us up on talent. McDaniels was a fail in Denver but that was nearly 10 years ago - he was young. He never had a QB like Luck or a GM like Ballard in Denver either.

well, he got fined for videotaping other teams play calls in Denver, AFTER BB/pats  had already been caught for doing the same thing in spygate.

so there's that.

we've all said the same thing about the pats, they cheat, once a cheater always a cheater, so now we have a convicted and admitted cheater coaching our team. great, just great.

now, if we ever win a superbowl, the colts will be called cheaters too and everyone will want an * next to any accomplishments under McCheater. I would if I was in any other state or a fan of any team other than the pats or colts.

And anyone wh reads this board can hold our accusations against the pats against the colts now.

this Hiring, if it happens makes me sick, as it should all of you who have been saying:

the pats cheat every year and just dont get caught other than spygate and deflategate

that they still videotape things,

that they srtill deflate balls, (if you don't think McCheater, the OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR, didn't know about this, then you are kidding yourself)

that they bug the opposing teams locker room, (ask peyton and dungy, they'll tell you its true)

that they mess with the signals for coach communications, (ask tomlin, he'll tell you its true)

they pay off the refs

etc etc etc etc etc etc

So, now we have a decision to make:

either the pats weren't really cheaters outside of the deflagate and spygate and we admit that those scandals were overblown to downplay them and thus McCheater is clean so the colts will be clean too...this would be a complete contradiction of what 99.99999% of us have said about the pats over the years, or----

they were cheating every year, (this would be consistent with what 99.99999% of us have said about the pats over the years)  and the colts are now as dirty as the pats and McCheater,  because once a cheater, always a cheater ( see Denver spygate 2 under McCheater)

what's it gonna be folks?

our front office just legitimatized everything the pats have done in the Brady/BB era

pardon me, i'm going to go puke.

All of you laughed at me for this post, how you feeling now? Sooooo glad that lying cheating back stabber will not be leading the proud franchise that is the colts.

You all would have sacrificed everything the colts stand for- integrity, sportsmanship, not cheating- for this clown and he just BURNED the colts and us.

The Bible teachers us not to boast, but I'll say a few extra hail Marys later.....

I told you so.....

God bless the colts and the next man who coaches them. We will return to greatness the right way. Without the help of soulless cheaters.b

Time to lock this one up mods.  He isn't coming here. Gotta move on.

We still have a ton of details to sort out.

  • Did McDaniels put pen to paper? Yes, he "came to terms," but that means jack squat.
  • What does this mean for Belichick?
  • Is Luck confirmed out next season and did Luck's injuries play into the McDaniels decision?
  • Did McDaniels losing the Superbowl play into this?
  • What happens to the staff McDaniels hired?
  • Will the Patriots get punished, and if so, do the Colts get anything?

Lots of unanswered questions.

I hear you but all of those questions are currently being discussed now in the McDaniels spurns Colts thread.

    • Any chance we take a OT with the 1st pick?
    • FWIW:   Today I listened to a guy from The Athletic interviewed on ESPN.   (Darren Lee). He said interviewing GMs at the combine, almost all view DeJean as a safety except two teams.  He thinks the Colts and Jags view DeJean as a corner.     I don’t know this reporter, never seen him before, so I can’t speak to his credibility.  But it sounds like he did a lot of homework.     And I appreciate your view on pro day times being reliable or not.   I’m always skeptical on pro days.  But I thought DeJean helped himself on his testing.
    • I could care less what he does. Been too long ago.
    • I’m with ya..     I'm not sure we’re going WR at 15 either.  I think we could go DE, and it’s possible we could go CB as well.   Gosh,  I love Mitchell and really like Arnold as well.  And if we trade back I would be fine with McKinstry or a DE on defense or one of the 2nd tier of WRs that could be there in the 20’s.  So many options.   I keep reminding myself, every pick could produce a surprise, because I think Ballard will have so many options to choose from.      Im also not sure Ballard will use all 7 rounds.   He finished in 5 rounds in his first draft 2017,  and he finished in 6 rounds in 2019.   Maybe he uses all 7 rounds, but I’m not confident we will.     One week from tonight.
    • My Final Mock Draft   15. Brock Bowers, TE,  6’4 245 Lbs, Georgia - Blue Chip Prospect.  Rare combination of acceleration, speed and body control. Hands-catcher operating with good coordination and technique. With Pittman on the outside Bowers will control the middle of the field and seams. AR Will develop much quicker into a top 10 QB with Bowers as his TE.  46. TJ Tampa, CB, 6’1, 190 Lbs, Iowa State - Elite physical traits. Plays with good positioning throughout routes. Very good in press Coverage and Zone. Expect him to compete in training camp and be named a starter.      82. Calen Bullock, S, 6’2 190 lbs, USC - Elite physical traits. He has the range to play single-high safety, the athleticism to line up over the slot and the ball skills to chalk up impressive on-ball production. Expect him to compete in training camp for the starting S position.    117. Tez Walker,  WR,  6’2 195 Lbs, UNC - Elite speed with very good body control. Career average of 30.7 yards on touchdown receptions. Gives us very good depth and competition with Pierce.    151. Grayson Murphy, DE, 6’3 260 Lbs, UCLA - Shows impressive quickness and change of direction to help turn speed to power as a rusher. Good depth.    191.  Keaton Bills, G, 6’5 320 Lbs, Utah - Cerebral player, quick to react to twists and stunts up front. Very good depth.
