it's an injury,   no-one can say with certainty when it will heal properly.   Every person is different.    They may have given him a time table for the average recovery time,   but I guarantee not one doctor gave him a definitive timeline

The thing is Luck himself said he would be back this season. IMO there had to be some serious setback.

How convenient. The day Luck finally goes to IR a report surfaces that Irsay is angry and felt he was misled.  Wonder who the source was that leaked this? Hmmm, i bet i know.   If Irsay was truly misled about the situation involving his 140 million dollar QB, he should sell the team immediately or at least step down and let someone else take over.

This could be true, people just calling Irsay a liar have no facts. He may have very well thought Luck was going to play sometime this season. Nobody really knows.

Or it could be Irsay leaking info that he is ticked off and as blindsided by this as anyone else. That way it deflects blame away from him for misleading his fan base.  Who misled him exactly? It's not a good luck for the owner to be "misled" when it involves the biggest investment on the team. If true, Irsay needs to step aside and let a competent individual take over the team.

I suspect he's feeling the burn of a lost season and he probably isn't enjoying being called a liar, not to mention the 20 odd million bucks that he's on the hook for.

I tend to think there's a whole lot of this story we aren't ever going to really know..

Why would anyone want to mislead Irsay about this ?

They wouldn't. It's a PR move to deflect blame from him. He's passing the buck. Who is he saying misled him? Luck? Luck's doctors?  I wouldn't be going down that road if i were Irsay.

The thing is that Luck got to the point where he was structurally sound enough to begin throwing and from accounts he wasn't looking bad. He's simply not totally healed. I'm not sure I buy this story as it was always possible that this would happen, especially as time went on. Irsay had to know that..

I think some context would do this tweet good. Who's Irsay mad at? The football gods?

I think Ballard alluded to some of this by saying Irsay was "extra optimistic"..

How do you know this to be fact? Maybe he was misled by doctors and trainers into thinking Luck was healthier than what he was.

I don't buy at all that Irsay purposely misled people. He most likely thought Luck would be back, and unfortunately set backs happened. I don't think Irsay had a crystal ball. I'm not sure why people are still pushing that.

When did the setbacks happen?  As of the first of September Irsay said in no way shape or form had Luck suffered any setback? That would be misleading if Luck suffered a setback that pushed his possible return back.  If Irsay didn't have a crystal ball, he probably should have just shut up instead of saying Luck would be ready to start the season.  That can be misleading.

Here’s a quick story about it:

And you aren't a billionaire.   I'm guessing he will be fine

Even if Irsay didn't lie,  HE was the person who was the MOST optimistic.

He was the person who reapeatedly said Luck would be back this year by certain dates and times.    He was the person who proclaimed the o-line was finally fixed.   So even if he wasn't lying, he was the one who told the public things that turned out not to be true.

I'm sure Irsay feels the heat from fans in his day to day life.   I'm sure he doesn't like being grilled by fans why his team is doing so badly.

And this is what we get.   Irsay now says he feels misled.    If I had to guess, I'd say Irsay was told certain things and he interpreted them in his own way.   And as things changed his public comments look worse and worse.

This is unfortunate but not that surprising.

Actually the team doctor stepping down could be a major factor. What if the team doctor lied and said luck should be fine to start the season but knew there was a chance he wouldnt

So basically, the team doctor botched the surgery, said, "Well, Mr. Irsay, your million-dollar QB will be just fine!" Then packed his bags and fled. That doctor was smart to leave when he did!

team doctors don't perform surgeries often, if at all..... they all go to renowned specialists like Dr. Andrews.
